15 Things That Only Seem Like a Good Idea When You're Drunk

1. Flirting back with that guy you've only seen in the dark under strobe lights. All of a sudden you go outside to where there is brighter street light and you're ju— "Becky! RUN!"

2. Taking off your shoes. What's tetanus? Not something that happens to a drunk person, that's for sure!

3. Doing a sexy dance. You're so fancy. You already knoooow. You're in the fast lane — to getting hit on by someone disgusting.

4. Standing on a booth. You gotta show off your sexXxy dancing and take ***FLAWLESS duckface group selfies but you're thisclose to getting in a drunk fight with the girl in a cowl neck dress next to you who came with a group of girls who, right here, right now, are obviously your ARCH RIVALS.

5. Standing on the bar. Or anything that is not the floor or ground. Because 1. falling and 2. you'd never want this much attention for standing on not-the-ground if you were sober.

6. Kissing people whose names you don't know. You: "I just made out with that guy!" Your less drunk friend: *makes face* "And it's time to go!"

7. Having your bra show a LOT. You're Rihanna right now! She'd have her nipples out! Free the nipple! Free all the nipples!

8. Posting photos on Facebook. "Dear world, freeing mah nipplies! Woo!" ?This is the point at which you give your phone to your friend.

9. Online shopping on your iPhone. STAY AWAY FROM THE GILT APP! Stay. Away. That shit is dangerous.

10. Taking mass transit home at 3 a.m. to save $10 on a cab. When your mother asks you how your night was the next day you're going to remember this with regret.

11. Ordering food as soon as you get home. Because you fall asleep before it arrives. Or because the only places you can order from are just disgusting.

12. Trying to make food as soon as you get home. Because you're going to end up waking up to an apartment full of smoke and a black disk that used to be a frozen pizza or you're just going to eat something embarrassing, like tortilla chips dipped in peanut butter or God knows.

13. Grabbing onto a pole that happens to be next to you. When you're drunk this only leads to one sort of action and it's probably not one you'll want to end up on Vine so everyone can talk about it at brunch the next day.

14. Letting a guy who is at least 20 years older than you buy you a drink. One minute it's an $18 vodka soda, the next you have a stage five clinger Old on your hands.

15. Body glitter. You'd never put that shit on sober.

15 Ways to Tell You’re Just Not That Into Him

We’ve all been there: You've gone on a handful of dates, have had a nice time, and have even made out. Just because he's pretty cute (and you haven't seen any red flags yet) doesn’t mean he's the love of your life and you should put all of your eggs in this "good-enough" basket. Here's how to tell if you're really not feeling him.

1. You see his message, but wait until you finish this eight hour "Law & Order: SVU" marathon before returning his text.via giphy.com2. When your friends ask, "What’s new?" your first answer is, "I found this great, inexpensive Cabernet that I love!"via thoughtcatalog.com3. You can’t keep yourself from making eyes at that moody barista with the weird bird tattoo on his forearm when you pick up your afternoon latte.via fanpop.com4. You sing the Ducktale's theme song in your head when he goes to kiss you goodnight.via wifflegif.com5. When getting ready to meet him you decide not to wear your little black dress because you’d rather save it for your book club.via sarahsaysread.com6. You've asked him if he has any siblings more than four times now.via gifsoup.com7. There was plenty of time to shower before you met up with him for drinks, but you felt your time was better spent playing Candy Crush.via thoughtcatalog.com8. When describing him to your friends, you say he is "different" and "well-informed when it comes to local news."via degrassi.wikia.com9. You still haven't accepted his Facebook friend request, even though you have logged on every two hours today at work.via giphy.com10. He sent you flowers, and you re-gifted them to that neighbor whose cat just died.via whatshouldwecallme.tumblr.com11. After a few dates, he went to make a move, and you told him you "weren’t that kind of girl." But after he left, you texted your FWB to see if he wanted to come over and uh, watch a movie.via elitedaily.com12. He invites you to meet his friends at a bar and you have to stop yourself from blurting out, "Are any of them cute?"via thedatereport.com13. You have no idea how long you've actually been seeing each other.via imgfave.com14. He told you that his mom is in town next weekend, and that he wants you to meet her. You immediately think about what disease you can pretend to have when that day arrives. You’re thinking salmonella poisoning, but you’re not sure yet.via girlmeetslaw.tumblr.com15. How to Tell a Guy You're a Virgin

Good sex advice can come from very unexpected places. Case in point: Lena Dunham posted a letter she wrote to sex columnist Jamie Bufalino in 2005 as part of Instagram's #ThrowbackThursday today, as well as the majorly solid advice he gave her.

Basically, 19-year-old Lena was hoping for some guidance on how to tell guys that she was (still) a virgin:

The response she got was exactly what every gal who's feeling insecure about her no-sex-yet status needs to hear. When you get to a certain age, you feel like everyone, except you, is getting in on. And whether or not that's the case, it shouldn't matter. Check out what Bufalino's said:

Preach, dude. Being a virgin (or not) is nothing to be ashamed about, because whatever your sexual status is, it's exactly what it should be. There's so much pressure on doing the deed that it can be easy to get caught up in worrying about getting it over with or what guys will think about it—and any man who cares about a virgin's status is most likely a skeeze or a jerk.

5 Ways to Make Condoms Sexy (You're Welcome)

The Mouth Master
Get low, like you're about to give your partner oral sex, and roll the condom on using your hands, tracing your tongue down the back of his penis as you do.

The Slick Rick
Squeeze a couple of drops of a lubricant inside the condom. Just don't go overboard—too much lube can cause the condom to slip off. Our spies report that the sensation of the condom with lube inside is amazing.

The Breast Remedy
Put the condom on a quarter of the way (it should sheath just the tip). Lean over, position his penis between your breasts, then squeeze them together and use them to work the condom down over his shaft.

The Move With A View
Have you heard? Men are very visual creatures. Tap into that by applying the condom in a 69 position (with you on top). He can give you some oral pleasure while you work your magic down below.

The Footsie Roll
Place the condom securely on the tip with your hands, then lean back and balance on your fore arms. Place your feet on either side of his penis, and gently roll the condom down with your big toes.

Three Sneaky Ways You're Staining Your Teeth

Swimming in a pool—especially on hot summer days—sipping wine or soda, and opting for a cup of tea vs. coffee to kick your day off right might all be awesome ideas, but they all have the capacity to stain your teeth. Really? Yes. Really.

With Memorial Day coming around the corner, we suggest keeping your mouth closed when taking a swim in the pool. "I see this mostly in avid swimmers, but pool water can create spots on your teeth called swimmers calculus," says Beverly Hills-based cosmetic dentist Kevin B. Sands, DDS, who tends to the teeth of a ton of celebrities, including former Cosmo cover girls Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian. "What happens is the high pH of the chemicals in the pool water causes the proteins in your teeth to harden into a dark brown tartar. And to remove the stains, professional whitening is required." No bueno.

Another surprising way you can wreak havoc on your pearly whites without knowing it: We all know that dark-colored sodas and red wine can stain your teeth, but clear soda and white wine can also do some damage. "Lighter colored beverages are acidic and chromagen-rich and can cause significant staining," says Sands. "The acidity softens the tooth enamel and then sets the stage for further staining."

Lastly, if prefer tea over coffee, don't think you're exempt from staining. "Black tea, for example, is rich in stain-promoting tannins that can cause worse staining than coffee. Try sipping these drinks [and the ones above] through a straw to minimize the amount of liquid that's actually coming into contact with your teeth," advises Sands.

Pseudo Intimacy: When You Have to Break Up With a Guy You're Not Even Dating

We've all been there: You meet someone online, via Tinder, or approach a dude at a bar. Digital diarrhea of the mouth via text ensues for days, maybe even a week until seeing him again on your offish first date. During your mutual overshare over text/Facebook/Instagram, you learn too much about him—his work, friends, families, dog, taco preferences, favorite shows. He's texting you just to say, "good night;" lavishing you with compliments. Everything's kind of amazing!

But when you actually meet IRL and hang out, BAM! You realize you want absolutely nothing, zero, zip, to do with him. In some cases, you might even hope to Jesus that you never f*cking see him again. There's only one problem: He wants to keep seeing you.

"I call this 'pseudo intimacy,'" says Marni Battista, dating and relationship expert and founder of DatingwithDignity.com. "You act like you're getting to know the person through Facebook chatting, texting, talking on the phone, and getting a sense of who they are, all while simultaneously conjuring up this whole fantasy of what you want them to be. But your vision of what they are isn't even close to what the person actually is."

This is how you might find yourself, like I did, having to break up with someone you're not even dating. I recently connected with a a super sweet, super cute gentleman who happened to be one of Cosmo's 50 Hottest Bachelors 2012. We'd met months ago and he reached out to me after spotting me on Cosmo's Instagram, modeling a pair of wine-colored leather pants. (He commented, "marry me." This should have been a sign of the pseudo intimacy to come.) I was dating a guy who was pretty emotionally unavailable at the time, but after we broke up, I reached out to Bachelor, who lives in another state, and we started texting and talking on the phone for almost a month. At first I loved how I never had to wait for his texts or calls to come through. He was so sweet and attentive! But then he started mentioned marrying me—multiple times—and dropping that he'd love to take me to his friend's wedding. It all felt a little fast.

Soon, Bachelor was coming to NYC for work and we planned to meet up in the flesh. But when I finally got to hang out with him, I wasn't feeling it. I just didn't get the butterflies in my stomach. Not to mention he told the couple next to us at the bar that we were married. I didn't want to take it any further, or lead him on, but since we had talked for a legit amount of time before actually hanging out, I felt like I had to "break up" with him rather than do the "slow fade" or just stop talking to him cold turkey.

According to our girl Marni, my situation happens all the time. "Most men divuldge more on the phone than in person, and this is where the lines of reality blur. He might not be as outgoing in person, there might not be a spark between you, perhaps you're not attracted to him in real life. He could be rude to waiters when you go out, or maybe he's frat boy-ish. Regardless of what it is, he just doesn't line up to be the person you created him to be over the phone," she says.

My friend Achelle also had to dump a guy she wasn't dating. "This guy reached out to my friend to find out who I was, since he saw me in a ton of her pictures on Instagram. We talked over text for a few days, and then went out for drinks. We ended up having great conversation for five hours and had a lot in common, but I wasn't sure if I was attracted to him," she says. "Basically, I didn't know if I wanted to put his P in my V. Respecting this guy, I didn't want to lead him on any longer, so I constructed a 'break up' text that basically said, 'I think you're a great guy, but I just don't think we're the right fit.' He replied with a novella of a text that said, 'I just don't get it, I thought we had a great time, did I do something wrong?'"

If you do have to dump a non-boyfriend, honesty is the best policy. Cosmo Girl Michelle found herself breaking up with Michael, a guy she met at a networking event.

"We got to talking—a lot over text—and went on a couple of dates. The conversation was great, but I felt like there wasn't any attraction there. I even did the courtesy f*ck to see if there were any sparks after the seventh date, but still nothing," she said. "I ended up using the 'it's not you, it's me/I'm not ready for a relationship just yet' kind of conversation."

Marni's advice: "You just have to end it immediately, because you don't owe anything to them. It's best to just be direct. Honesty always pays off."

Which is what I had to be with Bachelor. I sent him a text that said exactly what I felt, but I was still annoyed at myself for even letting it get to the point where I had to 'break it off.' He responded favorably and said that he understood, thanked me for being honest, and said he hoped we can be friends, which we can and will.

How do irresistible women such as ourselves avoid this dating hot mess? "Avoid pseudo intimacy altogether by meeting up with the person as soon as possible to get to know them one-on-one," Marni says.

We should be keeping texts to a minimum, brief and informational, she says. If the text is reading longer than your thumb on your screen, you're doing it wrong!

"It doesn't have to be an intimate setting, maybe coffee or a walk in the park, but a meet-date is lower risk and you can decide after you've meet them whether or not you want to tell him about your deepest, darkest," Marni advised.

Study: If You've Got Long Hair, Then You're Probably Wife Material (Obvi)

It almost worked for Cece on New Girl.

We love long hair just as much as short hair. But according to a new study, long hair will get him to put a ring on it quicker. LOL...

In the study, Great Clips surveyed women and men to find out which hairstyles they love and hate. Seventy-four percent of men said they found women with long hair the most attractive. Me thinks it's so he has something to grab as he goes doggy style (aka every man's favorite position), but that's just a hunch.

ANYWAY. The guys were then asked to describe the top four qualities a woman with long hair possibly possessed. Number one was sexy, followed by fun, young, and...wife material.

HAHA, yeah. Let that sink in.

Your hair can say a lot about you, but does it really tell him if you're the one to marry? Probably not. Call me crazy, but there are other factors there are other factors that lead to tying the knot that don't have anything to do with your tresses.

And, as a girl who once had a pixie cut, short-haired girls know how to have more fun. :)

Next Time You're in Sweden, Don't Have Unprotected Sex

If you're making a trip to Sweden anytime soon, you might want to pack your own condoms.

The Nordic country which has produced such hotties as Alexander Skarsgard and Prince Carl Philip has something called an annual "Kadiskollen"—it literally translates into "condom check." Basically, it looks to see how condom use is going in the country.

Anyway, it's unveiled some kinda scary results: Overall, only about 25 percent of Swedes are wrapping it up. About half of the under 35 set are using condoms, which is um, slightly better? But overall, those numbers look pretty grim to us.

Until...we realized America isn't that much better when it comes to keeping Trojan in business.

About 60 percent of our teenagers are using condoms, and the numbers only drop from there as the average person's age increases.

According to a study in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, only 1 in 4 couples in committed relationships use condoms. The scariest statistic though? Only 1 in 3 single peeps wrap it up.

It's worth noting that the same study in The Journal of Sexual Medicine found that both men and women rated sex just as arousing and pleasurable regardless of whether condoms or lubes were put into play.

And the added bonus? Well, we all know this one: Decreased risk of STDs, unwanted pregnancies, etc.

Now, how do you say that in Swedish?

Dating Someone Your Own Age? You're Smarter, Hotter, and Richer, Says Study

Attention all cougars, boy-toys, sugar daddies, and everyone else looking to date way outside of your age bracket: It could be time to wise up.

A new study conducted at the University of Colorado Boulder shows couples with large age discrepancies aren't the Hollywood happy endings we imagine them to be (cue Simon & Garfunkel's Mrs.Robinson).

Instead, overall, people who marry someone significantly older or younger have lower earnings, are less educated, and are less attractive compared to those who marry someone their own age.

"Hugh Hefner is an outlier," says Hani Mansour, Ph.D, an assistant professor of economics at the University of Colorado Denver. Apparently. The study found that men who shack up with women who are significantly older or younger (cough, cough, Hef) make less money than those married to women of a similar age.

And if that not-so-bulging-bank-accounts wasn't enough of a confidence crusher for guys who may be trying to mac on young thangs, a slew of intelligence tests conducted showed that men married to women at least eight years younger scored an average of 8.4 points less than those with wives of a comparable age.

The only findings not particularly eyebrow-raising are that boy-toys of the Ashton Kutcher variety are more attractive than those in other age groups.

“Overall, the estimates indicate that individuals married to differently-aged spouses are less attractive than those married to similarly-aged spouses, with the possible exception of men married to older women,” said researchers of the study.

So older women want hot, young, chiseled men? That's no surprise. What we are surprised about is that men aren't as picky about the younger women they select to bunk up with, according to the study. Looks like we may be the more discriminating sex, after all.

Another surprising find from this study is that while the term cougar has been more popular in the past few years than Andy Cohen at a Real Housewives reunion, it's no hot new trend.

“We really didn’t find any evidence of a new cougar phenomenon,” a researcher for the study said. “Although their share has slightly increased over time, cougars have been among us since the 1960s.” Word.

Sexologists: You're Insulting Your Vagina By Calling It
a VaJayJay

Vajayjay. Cooch. Cooter. Box. Tra la la.

The list of nicknames for our lady parts (there's another!) is endless, but according to Dr.Logan Levkoff, PhD, these cutesy euphemisms are hurting our sexual confidence, and our ongoing education about our bodies.

"The problem with slang terms is they make it sound as if these parts are shameful, or that we shouldn't feel good about them, says Dr. Levkoff, sexologist and author of Third Base Ain't What It Used To Be. "And that's the last thing we want, at any age."

Dr. Levkoff is a staunch believer in teaching children—right from birth—that anatomical body parts should be called what they are: penis, vagina, vulva, etc. In fact, one of Dr. Levkoff's biggest pet peeves is the lack of distinction between "vagina"—the canal that connects our uterus to the outside world—and "vulva"—the external genitalia. She points out that many women, of all ages, are referring to their vulva as "vajayja," a nickname for their internal organ.

"The term 'vajayjay' is not only just silly, it's factually incorrect," says Dr.Levkoff. Here's looking at you, Oprah, and, once upon a time, the cast of Grey's Anatomy.

Slang like "lady parts" and "vajay" also signal a lack of respect for women's most intimate parts—the same we use to do vitally important things like have sex, and conceive and deliver our kids. "If we want women to speak up about their bodies, then they need to use these terms because they're just too important," says Dr. Levkoff. "You wouldn't call your elbow some ridiculous slang name."

What of wangs, dicks, and peckers? Yes, there are penile slang terms, but the word "penis" has never been as avoided, or shrouded in slang, as "vagina." Dr. Levkoff says there is a reason our male counterparts have an easier time with the word 'penis' than we've ever had with the proper terminology.

"We unfortunately operated throughout history with a very significant double standard when it comes to sex, so we give more information to males about genitals and more freedom for them to explore their bodies," she explains.

"There have always been a lot of inequalities," Dr. Levkoff continues. "Not just on how to identify their bodies, but how to speak up and ask for pleasure and protection. If we just have slang or the absence of words, we're not getting to know our bodies, either."

So call it like it is, guys. Vagina—or bust.

Leonardo DiCaprio: This Is Why You're Single

Leonardo DiCaprio will forever hold a special place in our hearts for one reason: Titanic. Also, he's a major hottie and we almost can't believe he's still single.

The star recently spoke to Esquire, where he revealed why he can't find love, telling the mag, "Six months of being on location or being off in Morocco or someplace like that is not the best thing for a relationship."

Our boy is basically blaming his lack of a love life on his super-busy career. While this is true, work schedules can definitely get in the way of dating (having a workaholic boyfriend is pretty much the worst thing ever), we don't think this is why DiCaprio is single.

Leo (I hope it's cool I start calling you that), we need to talk. Come sit in the Cosmo corner. LL Cool J and Brad Paisley are familiar with this spot.

You see, the real reason you're single is probably because you're kind of a Modelizer. Sorry not sorry. Leo, you've dated at least two Victoria's Secret superstars: Gisele Bündchen and Bar Refaeli. And rumors once swirled around that you were trying to nab Karlie Kloss.

Look, you're sexy and pushing 40, but seem to limit your dating pool to super models or actresses you could have fathered. Hey, age ain't nothing but a number! But maybe you should expand your horizon on the type of girls you go after, and not use your job as an excuse for not being able to find love and commit.

When you decide that you wanna settle down and stop dating models or actresses, call us.

xoxo

Why You Want to Bone Chris Hemsworth When
You're Ovulating

There's just something about Chris Hemsworth. On any given day, he's the quintessential example of a super-masculine looking dude. Just look at the way his muscles pop through his shirt as he carries those two large cases of water. Hotttttt.

Well. According to a new study, your menstrual cycle can affect when you're especially attracted to the scent of a manly guy like Chris Hemsworth. Specifically, at your most fertile times—when you're ovulating—we're extra-attracted to macho guys bursting with testosterone traits like deep voices and bulging Hemsworthian muscles. Yes, in other words, your vagina can help you sniff out a hot man in the crowd.

To determine this, researchers gave guys T-shirts to wear for two consecutive nights. During this time, they were not allowed to use scented soaps or detergents, drink alcohol, smoke, or eat garlic, onion, green chiles, strong cheeses, and other stinky foods.

At the end of the second night, scientists asked women to sniff the men's shirts and rate the sexiness of the smell. The women were also asked where they were with their menstrual cycles.

Women who were ovulating found the shirts of men with high testosterone smelled the sexiest. So while you may be lusting after an Adonis when you're ovulating, take caution: That's also the time when you're most likely to get pregnant.

So, You’re Dating A Baseball Fan

moving cross country, finding a great partner... or lobbing off all your hair a la Karlie Kloss). But don't fret: It's not an impossible task. It just takes some thought—and great advice.

"A lot of times people don't like what they're doing in their current job, but they haven't defined what they want to be doing in their potential new job," Nicole Williams, career expert and author of Girl On Top, tells Cosmopolitan.com.

She says nabbing your dream job starts with doing some soul-searching: "I ask people to assess components of their current working life, and match them against the career they are looking to get into."

Try asking yourself these questions...

Time: How many hours do you want to work and in what kind of environment? Big company, small, telecommute, work-from-home flexibility (you know, the kind banned at Yahoo!)

Challenge Level: How important is growth potential and being challenged to you? Are you ambitious and ready to lean in, or just looking for a 9 to 5 to fill your time?

Work Environment: Define your best possible scenario in terms of work relationships. Who are you working with and for? What kind of boss would be ideal? Do you have dreams of becoming a boss?

Passion: How important is passion to you? For example, a woman we know races triathlons and feels like she doesn't need to be passionate about her job; her passion is attached to her sport.

6. Money: How much do you need to make? How much money do you want to make?

Steps To Making A Career Change

Stop Delaying

"The longer you are in the job you are thinking of leaving, the further away you are from new opportunity," says Williams. "It doesn't get any easier. Doing it earlier is emotionally, mentally and professionally better."

Be Willing To Sacrifice Something

You may have to start from the bottom (or the middle) and work your way to the top; Either way, be ready to drop a few rungs on the corporate ladder.

"Internships can be a good idea—or be willing to take a pay cut," says Williams. "If this internship, for example, introduces you to influential people and helps develop a skill-set, you'll be able to take these things to leverage them into a bigger position."

Start Saving

"Have a solid idea of the risk and savings in the bank," advises Williams. Even if it means cutting back on luxuries. "If you know the internship is going to last for six months at a minimum, that's the number you need to have in savings, and I normally advise 10 to 20 percent in savings as a risk buffer."

Network

"People love to talk about themselves," says Williams. "Find them on LinkedIn and through people you know, and consult with them."

Williams suggests asking those in similar fields questions like, "I wonder if you'd speak to me about your day-to-day life; What do you love most about the work that you do; What do you wish you would have known going into this career?"

"Those kind of questions are going to give you the information you need and will help you know the people you are going to need to know," she adds.

Now that you are armed with more than just your resume and a fresh manicure, it's time to start hitting the pavement. Happy hunting, gals.

moving cross country, finding a great partner... or lobbing off all your hair a la Karlie Kloss).

Ready for Love's Tracy McMillan: The Five Biggest Dating Mistakes You Don't Even Realize You're Making

I write relationship books. I’m also a matchmaker on a reality dating show. If I’ve learned anything in my job, I’ve learned this: WHEN IT COMES TO DATING, EVERYBODY WANTS TO KNOW THE TOP FIVE BIGGEST DATING MISTAKES. Not the Top Four or Top Seven. They want the Top Five most obviously questionable things people do in dating– like having sex on the first date or drinking too much at dinner—and they want to know now, dammit.

Until you tell them.

Then you realize all anybody really wants to know is the top five mistakes other people are making. Because no one—and by no one I mean you—actually believes they’re doing anything wrong. That list of Top Five Biggest Dating Mistakes is really just a list of things you’re super-relieved you’re not doing and also it’s doubly great because now you feel superior to everyone who is doing those things.

Which is where I want you to slow your roll.

Because if you’re still single and you don’t want to be, it’s possible (actually, it’s probable) that there are some other dating mistakes you’re making. Ones you don’t even think of as mistakes, probably because you think of them as The Way Things Are. Since my goal is to help you have a great life, especially when it comes to dating—and hopefully avoid becoming a three-time divorcee like myself—here is my list of The Five Biggest Dating Mistakes No One Even Realizes They Are Making Because Everyone Is Doing Them.

1. Friends With Benefits. As far as I’m concerned, this is the mistakiest thing ladies are out there doing. Not because it’s wrong wrong, but because most of the time, it’s sooooo not working! The problem with FWB is that we tend to do it with guys we would be willing to have as our boyfriend–if he would just commit. But he can’t, or won’t, and since we still like him, we do FWB instead. I compare this to asking to volunteer at a company that doesn’t want to hire you. In other words, a bad idea.

2. Casual Sex. This is like Friends With Benefits, except with strangers. It’s a really great concept that would be so much better if it worked more than 13 percent of the time. Casual sex is, as I like to say, like recreational heroin. It doesn’t stay casual for long. Usually about three weeks, give or take. Then the drunk-dialing begins. The guy wonders who replaced the Cool Girl who was, like, totally Cool, with a passive-aggressive compulsive texter who wants to know why he’s not her boyfriend. I know a few girls who can have casual sex (lifetime ratio: 17 out of 1248 friends) and I’m sure you do, too–but if you’re not her (and you know if you are) do yourself a favor and don’t even start with it, unless of course you like stalking people on Twitter to find out why they’re not calling you tonight.

3. Taking Something Good Instead of Holding Out For Something Great. Or, Holding Out For Something Great When You Could Be Taking Something Good. Yes, I know this is confusing. How can both of these things be true? Here’s how: Because they’re never true at the same time. See, sometimes you’re in a phase of your life where you really need to stop dating like you’re on a game show where you’re blindfolded and given 30 seconds in the shoe department at Bloomingdale’s to pick out the one shoe you will wear for the rest of your life. Other times—and this tends to happen as you have more experiences in dating—you go overboard on your List of Wants and Don’t Wants and pretty soon, only Channing Tatum will work for you. But Channing is taken, so then what? And besides, you don’t want to be with a celebrity because they almost never stay together. Speaking of which—

4. Doing Relationships Like Celebrities Do. Celebrity culture is ubiquitous and unless you’ve never seen a tabloid, chances are you’ve been influenced by the way you see celebrities date and mate. Here’s the thing: You’re not on TV enough to make a sex tape and get a career out of it or get married to a guy you met ten minutes ago. So don’t. (When you become someone’s reality show sidekick, be my guest.) Console yourself with the fact that when Kim Kardashian is 43, that kind of reckless behavior won’t work for her either. Which brings me to my final point—

5. Dating Like You Have All The Time In The World. I know you are going to laugh in my face, but ladies, you are not going to be young forever. No one tells you this anymore because it’s considered old-fashioned and also because someone invented Botox, so now we all pretend our eggs will never age, just like our faces won’t. If at some point–not now, but AT SOME POINT—you think you want children and a long-term relationship (in whatever order, I don’t judge) you need to take your love life as seriously as you take your career. Okay, your hair. Condition it, keep it mostly clean (though, yes, sometimes it looks great dirty), and keep experimenting until you find what works best for you. Because what’s right for you is the first and last thing on that other dating list: Top One Most Important Thing You Must Do To Be Happy In Love.

Tracy McMillan is the author of Why You're Not Married... Yet and a matchmaker on NBC's new primetime reality show, Ready For Love, premiering Tuesday April 9. She's also the mother of a 16-year-old guy.

Every day this week, she'll be dropping (carnal) knowledge at Cosmopolitan.com.

14 Weird Reasons Why You're Having Painful Sex

If his anaconda feels like it’s tearing you, the first thing to do is spend lots of time on foreplay. The more turned on you are, the more relaxed your muscles become—plus your vagina expands when you’re aroused. Have your guy gently massage the sides and base of your vagina, using downward pressure (avoid the top of your V-zone). When he does enter you, use lube and go sloooow. Since the most sensitive area is the rim of the vagina, stick to a rocking motion instead of thrusting. Another thing you can try to get accustomed to his bulge? Every other day, insert a vibrator for 15 minutes. Lelo makes vibes in a variety of sizes so you can choose one that’s right for you.

How To Recycle Last Night's Makeup Look (Because We Know You're Not Washing Your Face Every Night)

Listen, we've all been there. You're dead tired, kind of tipsy, and just got home from hanging with the hottie you met at the gym. The last thing you want to do is wash your face, let alone wipe off your eye makeup. So, what do you do? Face plant into your pillow, that's what. No judgements, don't worry.

Here's the thing, while we don't recommend making this a habit, it happens. But, here's the beauty in it all: The next morning after you wash your face and your eye liner is sort of in tact, we say go ahead and rock last night's liner again.

So, if you're planning on leaving your eye liner on for round two, let us at least tell you how to touch it up and make it look freshly applied.

All you need is a cotton swab dipped in some petroleum jelly, or a cotton swab filled with makeup remover to clean up your eye makeup mess. The latter is a genius invention that we wish we would have created, but since we didn't, we'll just use the hell out of them instead. Jane Iredale Dot the i Makeup Remover Swabs, $23, janeiredale.com, and Almay Makeup Eraser Sticks, $6, drugstore.com, both make these little magic wands that you break the top cotton swab off of and watch the removing solution drain into the bottom cotton swab. Voilà, it's ready to use.

Once you gently wipe away any smudges that may have occured while you were tossing and turning (sayonara, scary raccoon eyes!), grab your eye liner of choice and trace the line that's still vaguely there to refresh your look.

Like we said, we don't suggest that you continue wearing Monday's eye liner through Sunday, but it's okay to do one or two nights in a row. We won't tell.

Do you recycle your eye liner look?
