Britney Spears Misses Her "Baby One More Time" Music Video Days

Britney Spears has spoken about the amount of "sex" in her work.

The 31-year-old, who regularly shows off her body in music videos and on stage, said she wants to take her singles' visual accompaniments back to the days when it was more about dance routines.

"A lot of sex goes into what I do. But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was like one outfit through the whole video, and you're dancing the whole video, and there's like not that much sex stuff going on," she told The TJ Show on AMP 103.3.

"It's about the dance and it's about being old school, it's like keeping it real and just making it about the dance. I'd love to do a video like that."

Now that she is mother to sons Sean Preston and Jayden James with former spouse Kevin Federline, Spears said she thinks a lot more about the impression she is sending young children.

"Oh my God, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there," she said about the 'Work Bitch' clip.

"Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it's just hard to play sexy mom while you're being a popstar as well.

"I just have to be true to myself and you know, feel it out when I do stuff."

Responding to Spear's interview, her dad Jamie Spears and manager Larry Rudolph have told TMZ: "Britney is never pressured into anything. She reviews all creative and for her 'Work Bitch' video she discussed toning down some parts in finding a balance of sexy and being a mom."

Miley Cyrus Teases "Wrecking Ball" Music Video

Miley Cyrus has teased fans with a new picture from her "Wrecking Ball" music video.

The singer is seen atop a giant demolition ball in the image, which was released ahead of the video's premiere on Monday (September 9).

The new single - the follow-up to Cyrus's UK chart-topper "We Can't Stop" - is the second cut from her upcoming album Bangerz.

"Wrecking Ball" has so far peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It is available to download for North American fans who wish to pre-order the star's new album.

Bangerz is set to feature a collaboration with Britney Spears, who Cyrus previously described as her "dream artist" to work with.

Producer Sean Garrett has described the track as "iconic" and "nuts" but the collaboration has not yet been confirmed by Cyrus or Spears.

Couple Trapped on Ferris Wheel During Beyoncé Music Video Shoot

Beyoncé was indirectly the cause of a couple being stuck on a Ferris wheel in New York, it has been reported.

The singer was shooting her new music video at Coney Island's amusement park when she decided to film part of it on the Wonder Wheel.

Along with photographer Terry Richardson, Beyoncé spent 30 minutes on the stationary ride while applying make-up.

However, unbeknownst to the star or theme park staff, a couple were reportedly still on the ride high above, reports Splash News.

The couple were visibly shaken after finally being let off the ride, while the woman was seen in tears.

As soon as they were let out of their pod, the couple proceeded to quickly leave the park.

Beyoncé was said to be unaware of the incident, and soon tried out several rides, including Cyclone, the wooden rollercoaster, the Spook-a-Rama ghost train and the Eldorado bumper cars.

The 'Love on Top' star is currently working on her fifth studio album, but is yet to formally announce a release schedule for the record.

Best-Dressed: 2013 Billboard Music Awards Edition

At last night's Billboard Music Awards, these A-listers definitely stole the show: Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, and Emmy Rossum.

I don't care if I'm the only one who thinks Miley looks amazing in this checkered Balmain crochet and bejeweled jumpsuit, but the girl looks badass and beautiful.

Selena also wowed in a multicolored DayGlo Atelier Versace dress and silver Jimmy Choo shoes.

Never disappointing when it comes to showing a little (okay, a lot of) skin, Jennifer Lopez looked stunning in a gold lame Zuhair Murad dress complete with a plunging neckline, peek-a-boo skirt, and gilded Christian Louboutin shoes.

Taylor Swift, on top of taking home eight trophies, caught our eye looking super regal and way hot in her royal geometric-patterned blue Zuhair Murad sequin mini and Jimmy Choo shoes.

And last but not least, presenter Emmy Rossum also showed up flaunting a Zuhair Murad (obvs, the designer of the night!) number that was black with sheer-covered, polka dot-covered cutouts.

But since we clearly can't decide on our own—okay, we'd give it to Miley if it were up to us—who do you think should take home best-dressed honors?

Good Music Could Be the Answer to Your Sex Drought

moving cross country, finding a great partner... or lobbing off all your hair a la Karlie Kloss). But don't fret: It's not an impossible task. It just takes some thought—and great advice.

"A lot of times people don't like what they're doing in their current job, but they haven't defined what they want to be doing in their potential new job," Nicole Williams, career expert and author of Girl On Top, tells Cosmopolitan.com.

She says nabbing your dream job starts with doing some soul-searching: "I ask people to assess components of their current working life, and match them against the career they are looking to get into."

Try asking yourself these questions...

Time: How many hours do you want to work and in what kind of environment? Big company, small, telecommute, work-from-home flexibility (you know, the kind banned at Yahoo!)

Challenge Level: How important is growth potential and being challenged to you? Are you ambitious and ready to lean in, or just looking for a 9 to 5 to fill your time?

Work Environment: Define your best possible scenario in terms of work relationships. Who are you working with and for? What kind of boss would be ideal? Do you have dreams of becoming a boss?

Passion: How important is passion to you? For example, a woman we know races triathlons and feels like she doesn't need to be passionate about her job; her passion is attached to her sport.

6. Money: How much do you need to make? How much money do you want to make?

Steps To Making A Career Change

Stop Delaying

"The longer you are in the job you are thinking of leaving, the further away you are from new opportunity," says Williams. "It doesn't get any easier. Doing it earlier is emotionally, mentally and professionally better."

Be Willing To Sacrifice Something

You may have to start from the bottom (or the middle) and work your way to the top; Either way, be ready to drop a few rungs on the corporate ladder.

"Internships can be a good idea—or be willing to take a pay cut," says Williams. "If this internship, for example, introduces you to influential people and helps develop a skill-set, you'll be able to take these things to leverage them into a bigger position."

Start Saving

"Have a solid idea of the risk and savings in the bank," advises Williams. Even if it means cutting back on luxuries. "If you know the internship is going to last for six months at a minimum, that's the number you need to have in savings, and I normally advise 10 to 20 percent in savings as a risk buffer."

Network

"People love to talk about themselves," says Williams. "Find them on LinkedIn and through people you know, and consult with them."

Williams suggests asking those in similar fields questions like, "I wonder if you'd speak to me about your day-to-day life; What do you love most about the work that you do; What do you wish you would have known going into this career?"

"Those kind of questions are going to give you the information you need and will help you know the people you are going to need to know," she adds.

Now that you are armed with more than just your resume and a fresh manicure, it's time to start hitting the pavement. Happy hunting, gals.

Summer Music Festivals: Attend At Your Own Risk

Summoning up the pluck of, say, two sassy tween twins who managed to get their estranged parents back together, Lindsay Lohan has somehow managed to convince the court not to send her to rehab until after the celebrity scene-heavy Coachella Music Festival.

However, her good friend Claus (Oh man, of COURSE one of her good friends is named Claus) thinks she's in a "dark place" that might be exacerbated by the festival's hedonism.

Says Claus, according to The Hollywood Gossip:

“I fear for Lindsay's life if she goes to the festival. Lindsay is in a very dark place right now, and I’m absolutely scared for her life. Coachella is the last place she needs to be. For someone struggling with addiction, like Lindsay, the amount of drugs and alcohol at Coachella is just a recipe for disaster waiting to happen. I know because I have been to the VIP tent at Coachella. Lindsay can turn it around, but she has to look deep inside herself and get the help she needs."

While I'm pretty sure at this point that Lindsay would find a way to get her drugs/sauce on everywhere from a VIP room to an empty Wendy's in Poughkeepsie at two-forty in the afternoon, it's true that music festivals are often a hotbed of hard drugs, booze, It-Girls, and rock stars/would-be-rock stars with their pants hanging down around their ankles.

Like MTV's transition from the heyday of the '80s, music festivals aren't really about the music anymore. But each festival has their own independent hazards. Here's what you have to fear on this year's circuit:

Coachella:
Trampling by concertgoers clamoring for the VIP room.
Karate-chopping by style photographer.
Death by trendy overalls.
Out-cooling by Alexa Chung.

Pitchfork:
Committing hara-kiri after mentioning a band that's totally over.
Smothering to death by beards.
Alcohol poisoning from $1 PBRs.
Irony overdosing.
Ejected for not wearing flannel and/or carrying Moleskine notepad.
Ejected for showing any kind of joy/movement to music rather than nodding head in time serenely.

Burning Man:
Consumption by giant turtle.
Cursing off by talking tree.
Overdosing on acid. (Actually, maybe this also accounts for the two above.)
Contracting mutant strain of VD.

SXSW:
Being crushed by errant stage light during filming of Portlandia parody episode.
Being mumblecored to death.

Huh: Carrie Underwood Would Quit Music If Her Husband Asked Her To

Well, in today's edition of puzzling things celebs say, we have the amazingly talented Carrie Underwood, who revealed in an interview that she would quit music for the sake of her marriage to NHL star Mike Fisher. Yes, you read that correctly.

"If Mike ever told me he needed me to quit, I'd quit," she told People. "When you make that promise to somebody, and you stand before God and your family and friends, you've got to do everything that you possibly can to make that work."

We're trying our best not to turn into Judgy McJudgersons here. Really, we are. We love Carrie. We know that every woman's choice on how to balance her career and her relationship is hers and hers alone. And we can understand the need to take a break from touring, or something like that, to spend time with her hubby.

But...completely quitting music?! Seriously?!

Being in a relationship that allows us to grow our careers and follow our ambitions is non-negotiable in our books, especially after reading Sheryl Sandberg's Lean In. (We think Carrie needs to get herself a copy—STAT.) And while we don't know Mike's feelings on the issue, we imagine that, like most awesome guys, he wouldn't ask Carrie to give up what she's passionate about for him.

Plus, according to research in Sandberg's book, marriages tend to last longer when husbands and wives share the breadwinning duties. So, if Carrie wants to make her marriage work, it might actually be better that she keeps kicking ass in the music biz.

Certainly, Carrie's already accomplished way more professionaly than we probably ever will. But, still: Wouldn't she just end up resenting Mike after awhile if she gave up everything she's worked so hard for? IMO, that's not the kind of stress you want on your relationship.

Professional Douche Chris Brown Casts Karrueche Lookalike In Music Video

In the controversy surrounding Chris Brown and Rihanna's much-publicized reunion, one woman is often forgotten: Karrueche Tran, the model who Brown dated for two years and eventually dumped after his 2009 assault and subsequent breakup with Ri-Ri.

He continued dating her even as he was reconciling with the Barbadian superstar over the last year. (Remember that drunken video Chris Brown took last October of himself "ruminating" on whether you can love two people? Yeah, that was about Rihanna and Karrueche.)

Art imitates life imitates art imitates life imitates art and... you can go on forever, and now I'm dead, AHHH! But seriously, we all know that celebrities incorporate their "private" lives into their very public careers. My spirit animal Taylor Swift, for example, has been known for turning the boyfriend-lemons of her life into Top 40-ballad lemonade. And why not? Haters gonna hate, but I am Team T-Swizzle all the way.

That said, where do you draw the line between artistic catharsis and milking it? In the vein of Justin Timberlake's Britney Spears-doppelganger in the music video for "Cry Me A River" after she allegedly cheated on him with their shared choreographer, Chris Brown has “purposely cast a Karrueche Tran look-alike" in a music video for his new song "Fine China." (Of course, Brown, Timberlake and Swift are three verrrry different cases. But still.) Life and Style has quoted "a pal of [Brown's]" on the strategic casting in the video.

Says the source: "The storyline [of the music video] includes him saying goodbye to the woman. He wants to show he’s chosen Rihanna over her once and for all. [...] It was only right for him to make a statement that they are back together and that he and Karrueche are over.”

Tran and Brown remain "good friends" despite their split, but rumors that Brown's new album will concern their breakup, in addition to this casting news, just struck Tran today. She tweeted:

Whether you're a writer, a musician, a visual artist or any other creative type, what are the rules of using your exes in your art?

How Music Can Help You Eat Less

Eating out is awesome, but the extra calories we tend to consume when we do it are…not so awesome.

According to new research, there's an easy way to eat less without tapping into your willpower reserves.

A Cornell study found that people tend to eat less at a restaurant when the lighting and music is softer (think: ambient lamps and chill jazz music). Even better, they enjoy the meal more in that setting.

For the study, researchers made over a restaurant and found that diners ate 175 fewer calories with the lighting and music tweaks. That's not bad for a one-time visit, but if you eat out a lot, it can really add up.

What's up with that? Scientists say that soft lighting and relaxed music help you chill out and take your time eating. And when you eat slowly, you feel full faster, leading you to consume less overall.

Sure, the research was done at a restaurant, but odds are the same thing applies at home. So next time you're eating in, flip on a chill Pandora mix, turn off your overhead, and switch on a table lamp or two. You'll enjoy the meal more—and eat less.
