Seriously Adorable Old Couple Reveals the Secret to 80 Years of Happy Marriage

Helen and Maurice Kaye got married on Aug. 27, 1934. Now 101 and 102 years old, they reflected on 80 years of happy marriage with the BBC.

"He once bought me flowers," Helen said, laughing, "They were all dead." But instead of gifts, the couple said the most important thing they've learned is tolerance of each other.

"I give in a little, she gives in a little," Maurice said. "And we both laugh at the same things, don't we?" added Helen.

Guy Chat: The Couple Who Drinks Together

Josh and Afshin are copywriters at the same advertising agency, where they like to discuss women, sex and relationships over iChat…or as they call it: Guy Chat.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: I just read that couples who drink the same amount are happier and have a healthier relationship. What do you think, bullshit or true?

OLD MARRIED GUY: Oh, totally true. The success of my marriage is based almost exclusively on drinking together.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: It makes a lot of sense. I dated a woman last year who barely drank. She took pride in being a cheap date, but it made dinners kind of boring. And I felt a little guilty when I would order a few drinks and she was still on her first and only glass of white wine.

OLD MARRIED GUY: We recently had brunch with some married friends of ours, and the guy said he wasn’t drinking anymore. My first thought was: “What will they do together now?” I couldn’t relate on any level.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: Sounds like some rough roads ahead. I mean obviously I won’t judge a woman who has her reasons for not drinking, but there’s something sexy about a girl throwing back some whiskey.

OLD MARRIED GUY: Sure, if I was a Mormon or something, I bet I’d want a woman who also doesn’t drink. But, come on. What else are we gonna do? We live in a city of bars. Awesome, awesome bars. Oh, and agreed on the whisky. Totally sexy.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: And I couldn’t imagine dealing with meeting a woman's friends or parents for the first time without a few drinks to loosen up the situation. A glass of sparkling water won’t make me the life of the party.

OLD MARRIED GUY: One great thing about drinking together is that it grows with the relationship. When you’re young and wild and going out, drinking’s what you do together. Then when you’re old and boring and can’t go out because you have a kid, drinking’s still what you do together. It’s the perfect shared interest.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: Oh my god I never even thought about it like that. I’m not sure how you would even get through the early stages of parenting without bottles of wine.

OLD MARRIED GUY: Man, I’ve never drunk so much wine in my life. It’s a constant flow of vino over at my place these days. It’s like you drink a lot and wind up with a baby. Then you have to drink a lot because you have a baby.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: The eternal Catch-22. I think what makes it work is that both of you like to drink. But it could also work if both of you didn’t drink. That’s what the article mentioned, it’s just about having the same drinking habits.

OLD MARRIED GUY: Makes sense. I think that’s what a relationship boils down to: shared interests. Ours just happens to be red wine. But it’s gotta be tough to date sober, right?

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: If you both were sober, I feel like it wouldn’t be an issue. But for me, at least at my immaturely level at the moment, I would not be able to date someone who wasn’t a moderate to borderline alcoholic drinker.

OLD MARRIED GUY: Did the article say that? Or was it couples who drink last longer than couples who don’t?

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: The article said couples with similar drinking habits have better, happier relationships. It makes sense, if you don’t drink you aren’t going to want to deal with a significant other that’s getting blasted every other night.

OLD MARRIED GUY: Yeah, that sounds like a drag.

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: So if your wife stopped drinking tomorrow, would you go hand in hand into sobriety with her?

OLD MARRIED GUY: God, I hope that never happens. I’d probably drink more to cope with having a sober spouse. But let me ask you this: would it be worse if the woman you’re dating stopped drinking or joined a cult?

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: Probably worse if the woman I was dating joined a cult, especially one that all ended up committing mass suicide. Mostly because she’d be dead.

OLD MARRIED GUY: So on the list of ultimate turn offs, we’ve got: 1. Cult. 2. Sobriety. Am I missing anything?

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: Probably celibacy. That could be a deal breaker.

OLD MARRIED GUY: What does it say about my current sex life that celibacy didn’t even cross my mind as a turn off?

YOUNG SINGLE GUY: That you’re more worried about your wife joining a cult than about never having sex again.

OLD MARRIED GUY: Well, if my wife died I’d have no one to drink with.

20 Fights Had by Absolutely Every Couple on Earth

1. The "I Did Something Wrong but Instead of Admitting It I'm Going to Be Mad at You" Fight. "I can't believe you washed the pink sock with my white jeans! What the hell! Oh wait, I did the laundry? I AM BLAMING THIS ALL ON YOU." Who hasn't been there.

2. The "You’re Not 22 Anymore and Therefore Do Not Need 12 Shots of Tequila on a Tuesday" Fight. After a certain age this just becomes embarrassing. Related: The "Why Do You Waste Money on Bars?" Fight.)

3. The "Your Friend is So Inappropriate" Fight. Usually it's the friend who's making your significant other take, like, 80 shots of Jaegermeister on a Thursday, causing him to vomit in your deskside trash can.

4. The "Why Are You Reading a Book/Checking Facebook/Working in Bed Instead of Having Sex with Me?" Fight. Me me me me. ME ME ME ME. It's everyone's inner monologue sometimes, just roll with it.

5. The "I Can’t Read Your Mind" Fight. "I didn't mean it when I said I didn't want anything for Valentine's day," you proclaim through tears, when he doesn't get you something. In your defense he obiviously should have known you didn't mean it!

6. The "I Can’t Believe You’d Rather Hang Out With Your Friends Over Me" Fight. "Do your bros have sex with you? No? WTF?" Totally rational.

7. The "Freaking Out about Moving In Together" Fight. Every insecurity you have about you relationship becomes magnified in this phase. Also the act of moving never made anyone happier than they were when they were NOT moving, so there's that. After you get over this hurdle, then comes the "Holy Shit, I Can’t Believe You are Always Here" Fight.)

8. The "I Had a Bad Day and Now I'm Taking It Out on You" Fight. Next time, just call whoever at the office pissed you off and yell at them. JK LOL don't do that.

9. The "It's the Holidays" Fight. "We have to go to my parents." "No we have to visit MY parents." Here's an idea: visit no one's parents and go to Miami.

10. The "I Can't Believe You Spent X on Y " Fight. The new dress you bought for work was unnecessary but his round of golf with the guys for a bachelor party was totally legit. Everyone's right and no one is.

11. The "We Never Make-Out Anymore" Fight. Someone's polite way of saying, "Why don't we bone anymore! Wah!"

12. The "You Sound Just Like My Mother" Fight. You don't like the mother. Hiss.

13. The "Why Are We Even Talking About This Thing That Always Makes Us Fight?" Fight. When this fight starts, set a timer, and stop fighting after four minutes. That should be enough to get it out of your systems and move onto the "I'm still mad at you" makeup sex couples like so much.

14. The “If I Watch The Real Housewives, You Won't Watch the Game with Me Like You Said You Would” Fight. But he always loses this one because games are eight million times longer and eight million times more boring.

15. The “Why Are We 10 Hours into a Keeping Up with The Real Housewives of Teen Mom 2 Boo Boo Marathon" Fight. If you've spent this long watching E!, TLC, and/or Bravo, get out of the house. I repeat: leave the premises.

16. The “I Read Your Internet History File and I Think You are GROSS” Fight. Just don't snoop. Or at least just know what you'll find.

17. The "I Don't Want to Go to Your Friend's Wedding" Fight. So he has a friend in love. So you don't want to fly across the country for a day and be exhuasted while all his friends try to force you to drink, like, 80 shots of Jaegermeister at the open bar.

18. The "We Never Do Stuff I Want to Do" Fight. You picked the last restaurant, you chose the last movie, you insisted on going to the Strawberry Festival. Well, maybe your S.O. never has any good ideas!

19. The "Why are We Out of Milk/Toilet Paper/Dog Food" fight. Quickly devolves to the "God, I Have to To Everything Around the House, Don't I?" fight. And then there's the fun (read: not fun) follow-up fight in which you argue over who gets to go to the drugstore to buy the needed items. And whether or not both of you should suffer the trip.

20. The "You Work Too Much/Not Enough" Fight. A more fun fight is the one over who's werking it harder. Always.

Couple Trapped on Ferris Wheel During Beyoncé Music Video Shoot

Beyoncé was indirectly the cause of a couple being stuck on a Ferris wheel in New York, it has been reported.

The singer was shooting her new music video at Coney Island's amusement park when she decided to film part of it on the Wonder Wheel.

Along with photographer Terry Richardson, Beyoncé spent 30 minutes on the stationary ride while applying make-up.

However, unbeknownst to the star or theme park staff, a couple were reportedly still on the ride high above, reports Splash News.

The couple were visibly shaken after finally being let off the ride, while the woman was seen in tears.

As soon as they were let out of their pod, the couple proceeded to quickly leave the park.

Beyoncé was said to be unaware of the incident, and soon tried out several rides, including Cyclone, the wooden rollercoaster, the Spook-a-Rama ghost train and the Eldorado bumper cars.

The 'Love on Top' star is currently working on her fifth studio album, but is yet to formally announce a release schedule for the record.
