Professional Douche Chris Brown Casts Karrueche Lookalike In Music Video

In the controversy surrounding Chris Brown and Rihanna's much-publicized reunion, one woman is often forgotten: Karrueche Tran, the model who Brown dated for two years and eventually dumped after his 2009 assault and subsequent breakup with Ri-Ri.

He continued dating her even as he was reconciling with the Barbadian superstar over the last year. (Remember that drunken video Chris Brown took last October of himself "ruminating" on whether you can love two people? Yeah, that was about Rihanna and Karrueche.)

Art imitates life imitates art imitates life imitates art and... you can go on forever, and now I'm dead, AHHH! But seriously, we all know that celebrities incorporate their "private" lives into their very public careers. My spirit animal Taylor Swift, for example, has been known for turning the boyfriend-lemons of her life into Top 40-ballad lemonade. And why not? Haters gonna hate, but I am Team T-Swizzle all the way.

That said, where do you draw the line between artistic catharsis and milking it? In the vein of Justin Timberlake's Britney Spears-doppelganger in the music video for "Cry Me A River" after she allegedly cheated on him with their shared choreographer, Chris Brown has “purposely cast a Karrueche Tran look-alike" in a music video for his new song "Fine China." (Of course, Brown, Timberlake and Swift are three verrrry different cases. But still.) Life and Style has quoted "a pal of [Brown's]" on the strategic casting in the video.

Says the source: "The storyline [of the music video] includes him saying goodbye to the woman. He wants to show he’s chosen Rihanna over her once and for all. [...] It was only right for him to make a statement that they are back together and that he and Karrueche are over.”

Tran and Brown remain "good friends" despite their split, but rumors that Brown's new album will concern their breakup, in addition to this casting news, just struck Tran today. She tweeted:

Whether you're a writer, a musician, a visual artist or any other creative type, what are the rules of using your exes in your art?

10 Sex Tips from Helen Gurley Brown

1. "A smart single woman…doesn’t have to prove herself in sex. But she should act as though she could if she wanted to.”

2. “Should a man think you are a virgin? I can’t imagine why, if you aren’t. Is he?”

3. “Once in bed, it’s kind of silly to fake inexperience. Most men agree that inhibitionless and even aggressive enjoyment from a woman is an asset so far as their own enjoyment is concerned.”

4. “There is nothing like holding off and not having an orgasm one week, two, more…to have the greatest orgasm of your life when it happens. This takes discipline. You have not to masturbate no matter how inclined you are….A really longed-for, ready-for-it, haven’t-in-a-while orgasm doesn’t have anything much better than it.”

5. “I believe good drivers—focused, don’t show off but never get stuck behind a truck making a delivery, a bus letting off passengers, or a car double-parking—are good in bed. These men just very smoothly, efficiently get the girl or the car to do what they want and what the girl wants…no bumpiness, swerving, dawdling.”

6. “I don’t think pants are sexy for women. Dresses, on the other hand, are meant to be crept up inside of until hands touch underwear…a sweet, friendly, almost innocent pursuit, much sweeter than him boldly unzipping the fly of your slacks.”

7. “The vertical indentation in a man’s ear that dips down into the fleshy part of the lobe is an indication of how big his erect penis will be. Shallow ear-indentation correspond to small penises; deeper (like the shape of Italy) go with larger. I haven’t been able to corroborate this theory recently but in my single days found it infallible.”

8. “Magical sex does not always show up attached to the right man. When this person and his magical sex get too ‘expensive’—too many tears, blues, lonesomeness, too often feeling angry and taken for granted, the pain outweighing the pleasure—the magic man will have to go.”

9. “If a man is persistent to the point of becoming tiresome….Say,‘You’re most attractive. You’re really lovely, but do you honestly suppose I can sleep with every man who asks me? The answer for now is no.’”

10. “If a man is cheating on you, the best thing to do is cheat on him but don’t tell him. Gives life a whole new perspective.”

Does Chris Brown really deserve another chance?

Most people would agree 2011 has treated Chris Brown well. His fourth album, F.A.M.E., debuted at number one on the US charts. He shared the stage with teen dream Justin Bieber on his recent Australian tour. Brown has even earned a reconnection to his ex-girlfriend Rihanna, who controversially began following him on social networking site Twitter in May.

It’s a far cry from the low Brown hit just two years before, when he was charged with assaulting Rihanna after the couple left a pre-Grammy Awards after-party in 2009. If the assault wasn’t shocking enough, leaked images of Rihanna’s bruised and swollen face sealed the deal. Brown, then, became pop culture enemy number one.

Now he’s riding the comeback trail. However, a series of outbursts – including homophobic slurs on Twitter last December and over $2000 worth of damages he caused to his dressing room after he was asked about RiRi in an interview with Good Morning America in March – suggest he may not be as beyond his violent past as his handlers would like to think...
