Yes, Miley Cyrus' Homeless Friend Had Some Legal Troubles, But Does That Really Detract From Her Good Cause?

As the media dug into Jesse Helt's background this week following his debut on the Video Music Awards stage over the weekend, details on his criminal record emerged. Helt had been charged with attempted burglary in 2010, and violated his parole. A warrant remained out for his arrest in Oregon, his home state — until this week, that is. With money from Miley paying for his ticket, Helt returned home and promptly "turned himself in to Polk County authorities," the Associated Press reports (via The New York Daily News). He then posted bail, and his next court date will be in two weeks. Helt's mother Linda told Us Weekly that Miley has offered to help with any/all legal fees that ensue, though it's not yet clear if she also ponied up the cash for his bail so he could enjoy his time back in Oregon at home with family, and, you know, not in jail.

Miley had previously chastised coverage of Jesse's story earlier this week. In a series of angry tweets she wrote that the media "never fails to disappoint," and argued journalists had "gone after" a negative, clickbait story instead of focusing on the greater, positive cause. The rub is, though, that Helt's background — particularly given his sensationalized introduction to the world — is pretty intrinsically linked with youth homelessness now; his moving speech at the VMAs will have made him a face (if not the face) of the issue.

Is it unfortunate his dirty laundry is being aired in the tabloids? Yes. Is that something you sign up for when you agree to take on a starring role in a major, nationally broadcast awards show? Arguably, yes again. But then surely his story, warts and all, helps add context — at least one person's context — to an otherwise amorphous, faceless group. Whether that makes him more or less relatable (as expected, the response has fallen on both sides of the coin) is sort of immaterial, actually; it's made him more real — because Jesse and the other 1.6 million homeless youth across the United States are all real people. And, hey, that's actually what Miley wants to publicize!

So then, as she also tweeted, if that's a reality you'd like to help with, consider entering her Prizeo contest and/or making a donation to My Friend's Place (or one of the many other stellar organizations out there dedicated to helping homeless youth).

Here's Miley Cyrus Naked on a Pile of Stuffed Animals

Miley Cyrus covers the fall issue of V magazine (fittingly titled the Rebel Issue) in a baby blue fur bathing suit by Fendi, which kind of makes her look like a really hot Muppet. You know, the kind that would make Miss Piggy worry that Kermit was about to leave her, if Kermit weren't such a nice, one-woman frog. Photographed by Chanel mastermind Karl Lagerfeld, it's not totally clear that this photo was styled for a magazine shoot or if this is just how Miley relaxes at home after a long day. Because if anybody likes to hang out on top of a bunch of plush toys while wearing a furry swimsuit, it's Miley.

Miley also Instagrammed a censored nude shot of herself on top of the same pile of stuffed animals (see below), ostensibly for the purpose of convincing people to subscribe to the magazine in time to get the new issue, but probably just to give people a better look at that cute crocodile. Either way, this seems like a very effective way to advertise.

In other Miley news, she sent Ariana Grande flowers after the VMAs, perhaps as some sort of "welcome to the pop star fold" gesture. Hopefully this is the beginning of a beautiful (and duet-heavy) friendship.

Miley Cyrus Took Her VMAs Date Out for Burgers After the Show

Miley Cyrus used her VMAs appearance Sunday to shed a spotlight on problems facing runaways and homeless youth when she won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball." But when Miley takes you to the VMAs, she doesn't make you pick up her Moonman without providing a little sustenance. She takes you out for burgers when the show's over!

After the VMAs, Miley and her date Jesse went to In-N-Out Burger, where they got those fun paper hats with palm trees on them and hopefully some animal-style fries. In the caption accompanying their burger selfie, Miley called Jesse her "hero" and said they went to the fast food restaurant to celebrate. Aww.

Miley Cyrus Is Bringing Something Major to the Fashion World

According to MTV, Miley Cyrus and Jeremy Scott will be teaming up for the designer's spring/summer 2015 presentation next month at New York Fashion Week. Scott was tight-lipped about exactly what the collaboration will entail, but claimed the collection is built around "cool kids," each with his/her own distinct look, as opposed to the runway model clones that fill most fashion shows.

Miley Cyrus: "Guys Watch Too Much Porn"

In her W Magazine cover feature, the now-single Miley Cyrus mentioned that she was having a tough time trusting guys, and generally having a rough time in the dating world, thanks to its unrealistic expectations (via Us Weekly):

"Guys watch too much porn. Those girls don't exist. They're not real girls. And that's like us watching romance movies. That's girl porn, because, like, those guys do not exist."

A little heteronormative, perhaps, as I am an avid porn and rom-com viewer, but nevertheless! I can confirm that everyone who is single and dating right now is in some kind of fantasy world.

So, About That Time Miley Cyrus Made Out With Cara Delevingne

Remember when Miley Cyrus had a gay old time at MTV's European Music Awards in Amsterdam back in October? (You know, the time when she toked up on stage and everyone was like O_O even though it's AMSTERDAM PEOPLE, get with the program.) Anyway, emphasis on the phrase "gay old time" in particular, because Miley got together with British model/gadabout of the moment Cara Delevingne while in town for the ceremony and they licked each others' tongues in the back of some bar.

Miley just shared a photo of the special faux-lesbian moment on Twitter, with a faux-rainbow too. Fun fact: the photo has been retweeted over 19,000 times already at the time of this posting, but not (yet) by Cara herself. Speculate away. I had always thought this sort of open-mouth makeout session was limited to Eastern European gay porn films from the late '90s, but there you go — the cool kids are appropriating queer culture again. #Typical.

p.s. Let's now re-examine Miley's "Adore You" music video for signs of semi-latent bisexuality.

Sinead O’Connor, Miley Cyrus Still Going At It

After surges in web traffic following her first open letter crashed her website, Sinead O’Connor posted a second Cyrus-centric missive on Facebook late last night. This time, she was pissy.

Open letter #2 opens with “Miley… really? Who the fuck is advising you?” and quickly warns Cyrus that “taking me on is even more fuckin’ stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism.”

Angry Sinead then threatens legal action following Miley’s snark-filled response to her first bunch of suggestions, and says it’s “most unbecoming for you to [have responded] in such a fashion to someone who expressed care for you.” Meanwhile, realizing that an opinion on the whole Miley saga is a guarantee of some press coverage, anybody and everybody with designs on a mention as In Touch sidebar started piling on with judgemental tweets of their own.

Wisely, Miley took a more measured approach in her second round of responses:

So we look forward to the pair getting together for a coffee sometime soon and twerking hugging it out.

Miley Cyrus Teases "Wrecking Ball" Music Video

Miley Cyrus has teased fans with a new picture from her "Wrecking Ball" music video.

The singer is seen atop a giant demolition ball in the image, which was released ahead of the video's premiere on Monday (September 9).

The new single - the follow-up to Cyrus's UK chart-topper "We Can't Stop" - is the second cut from her upcoming album Bangerz.

"Wrecking Ball" has so far peaked at number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It is available to download for North American fans who wish to pre-order the star's new album.

Bangerz is set to feature a collaboration with Britney Spears, who Cyrus previously described as her "dream artist" to work with.

Producer Sean Garrett has described the track as "iconic" and "nuts" but the collaboration has not yet been confirmed by Cyrus or Spears.

Miley Cyrus Twerks All Over You

At the 2013 VMAs, Miley Cyrus introduced twerking to those who don't seem to use the internet the world. She shook it so hard on top of Robin Thicke's crotch that people couldn't stop talking about it for a week post-award show.

What most people seem to forget is that Miley is a twerk veteran—it has been her go-to move since the "We Can't Stop" video.

And while Miley has been shaking her jelly at back-up dancers, screaming Smilers and music collaborators for months, it's only now that you're able to get a piece of dat too. You've got the devious minds at christopherleesauve.com to thank for that, they clearly know a cash cow when they see one.

Here's Your Daily Dose of Miley Cyrus' Spectacular Ass

On the off chance you haven't seen enough of Miley Cyrus' underbutt this week: Consider this photo released by her label to promote her teddy bear and ecstasy-filled new album, "Bangerz."

It's something of an outtake from the album cover art, but with an extra dose of ASS. And while her bum was brutally likened to that of King of the Hill's Hank Hill during her VMA performance, we think it looks pretty great here. If we went to Pilates as much as this girl, we'd probably wear a blazer with no pants, too.

Is the Double Bun Back? Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner Seem to Think So

How's this for a Flashback Friday hair moment?!

We HAD to call attention to the fact that both Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner are taking a stab at the double-bun style that was originally made famous by Princess Leia, wayyy back in the day, and more recently, Gwen Stefani.

We're all for this half-sweet, half-punk rocker style, but it's not exactly an everyday look. Now for the real question:

Waka Flocka Flame Loves Miley Cyrus As Much As We Do (Or Maybe Even More!)

We're not the only ones that have a thing for Miley Cyrus.

Waka Flocka Flame has admitted his "real slick crush" on our girl Miley to XXL Magazine, and waxed poetic about all things having to do with the singer—from her haircut to her recent twerking video.

The rapper even outed himself for having "bummed a guest seat from Russell Simmons to go to her party"— that is, Cosmo's party for March cover girl Miley at New York's Acme last month. (So that's why we spotted him!)

"I went to the party, she didn't even know it. I walked right by her, she didn't even know it. As soon as she walked in the door I walked f*cking by her, she didn't even know. I didn't say s**t," Waka told XXL. "I haven't met her in real life."

We don't blame ya Waka! There's just something about Miley. After she covered our mag, we couldn't get enough of her— or her hot hair, sexy 'tude, and killer dance moves —either!

"Man, that s**t is so sexy," Waka said referring to the video of Cyrus that went viral, in which she "twerks" in an unicorn onesie. "Her body is fully covered, that's what made is so sexy."

However, the 26-year-old rapper seemed super bummed when he heard that our celeb BFF had another man in her life: her fiance, Aussie super hottie Liam Hemsworth. “Oh. Man. I didn’t even know that.”

Despite Waka not being able to connect with sexy Cyrus at our party for the cover girl stunna', it sounds as if he hopes they make sweet music together someday.

"I want to get a record with her. I got a sick, sick, sick record. Let me see if I got it. I got something I’d like to write for her, give her a feel for it just to write," Waka explains. "I already got my verse for it, I created the song, it’s called “Shots.” I got to pitch it, damn she might want to do it for her album! That’d be awesome. I’m going to do a record with her guaranteed. We’re gonna take steps.”

Are you listening, Miley?

Miley Cyrus Is Our March Cover Girl!

The room I'm in with Miley Cyrus, just off the entryway of her mansion in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, used to house her dad's guitars. Recently refurbished, now it's one hundred percent Miley: a room stocked with mementos that show who this former child star used to be and who she is now, at age 20.

There's a picture of 5-year-old Miley sitting in the lap of her dad, Billy Ray, at SeaWorld. Nearby is a photo of her in a passionate clinch with Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth, taken mere hours after they got engaged. A book of art from Tim Burton, who directed Miley in her first film, Big Fish, dominates a table, while a cast photo from her new movie, So Undercover, sits on a book shelf a little farther away. Under that photo is a tree branch that Miley's former security guard expertly carved into the shape of a guitar's headstock and fretboard--a reminder that Miley will soon release a buzzed-about new album, her first since wrapping the show that made her famous.

The room can barely contain the energetic star, who tries to settle in a chair, then bounds up to perch on its armrest, and at other times, leans in to show off the contents of her iPhone, filled with pictures of Liam, her dogs, and screenshots from the TV movie Liz and Dick. She's dressed casually in a plaid button-down, but her hair is white blonde and shaved on the sides, the kind of look that can be rocked only by a woman who's truly confident in herself. Whatever else she is, that's Miley.

Cosmo: If I asked you to rank the parts of your life that you feel most satisfied with--love, family, music, acting--what would be at the top?
Miley: Number one is my relationship with Liam. That's what I feel the most confident in because you never know; there's so much hype behind my new record, but it could come out and, worst-case scenario, everyone fucking hates it.

Cosmo: But you seem proud of it.
Miley: Definitely, it's the second thing that I'm most content with. I've never gotten to make a record like this because Disney's always been on my back saying, "You've got to promote the TV show in two months, so make sure your record's done...and when you promote your record, can you promote the show, the movie, and the Hannah Montana record?" I was basically carrying two people's careers and trying to make mine the priority. Now, it's almost like being a new artist and trying to make a first impression. I think the best thing I could have done was take those two years off to really live, because now people don't think of me as who I was on the TV show.

Cosmo: Do you think they ever really did? When pictures from your personal life would leak, they presented a very different image than Hannah Montana.
Miley: Some of the worst things that have happened in my career, like things getting leaked, have actually been what's best for me, because people knew when I was on that show that I was really growing up. I never faked anything. I never played the Disney game of smiling and being a princess and then suddenly having a hard time, saying, "That isn't who I really am."

Cosmo: You collaborate with many unexpected names on this record. Safe to say you have a new sound?
Miley: I wrote this song with Mary J. Blige, and Tyler the Creator heard it and said, "I am obsessed with this song, and I will guest on it if you promise me that you will keep it on the album." And he killed it! I really didn't want to make a hip-hop record, and I'm not trying at all to be a Rihanna or a Nicki [Minaj]....That's not my vibe. When I was growing up, my older brother would sneak me Nelly CDs, my dad had me listening to Dolly [Parton] and Johnny [Cash], and my mom is a complete metal head. So this record is a weird mixture of all that.

Cosmo: Unlike a lot of musicians, you celebrate your competition.
Miley: Katy Perry's been my friend for fucking five years, and I'm not ever gonna let our work get between that relationship. If Katy sticks with being Katy, and Ke$ha is Ke$ha, and Rihanna is Rihanna, and I'm me, there's room for everybody. The problem is when people look at Gaga and say, "Oh, that works; I'm going to be like that."

Cosmo: What are you listening to?
Miley: Frank Ocean's record is so good. And I like that he came out and admitted he was gay, because that still affects people's careers. If you don't think it does, it fucking does, and he did not care. I think it's going to make him even bigger.

Cosmo: Let's talk about Liam. Do you ever have these moments when you're still struck by how hot he is?
Miley: Yeah, all the time! I'll literally look at him and be like "You are hot, dear god!" The other day, I turned on the pool heater and it was steaming, and he walked outside and took off his clothes and jumped in the pool. I was like, "I'm gonna faint--the hottest guy of my life is in a steaming pool. This looks like a Playgirl shoot." So I took a photo and made it the background on my phone. My best friend grabbed my phone and was like, "Who's that? He is so hot!" That's my hubby!

Is Miley Cyrus Engaged?

Miley Cyrus fans were left wondering “is she or isn’t she?” this weekend after the singer tweeted out a photo of her manicure that also showed off a diamond ring she was wearing on that special finger.

Miley also wore the huge sparkler to an event on Saturday and showed it off as she posed on the red carpet. Sources close to Miley told People.com that she’s not engaged to her hot Hunger Games boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, but it’s easy to see why people might think she would be.

Wearing a fancy ring on your left index finger is an easy way to tell the world that you’re engaged, but plenty of celebs have done it without a fiancĂ©e. That said, wearing a ring on that finger, especially if it’s a nice one, might make some guys who are interested in you back off when they spot it.

Do you ever wear rings on that finger, or do you think it should be reserved for an engagement ring?
