Sinead O’Connor, Miley Cyrus Still Going At It

After surges in web traffic following her first open letter crashed her website, Sinead O’Connor posted a second Cyrus-centric missive on Facebook late last night. This time, she was pissy.

Open letter #2 opens with “Miley… really? Who the fuck is advising you?” and quickly warns Cyrus that “taking me on is even more fuckin’ stupid than behaving like a prostitute and calling it feminism.”

Angry Sinead then threatens legal action following Miley’s snark-filled response to her first bunch of suggestions, and says it’s “most unbecoming for you to [have responded] in such a fashion to someone who expressed care for you.” Meanwhile, realizing that an opinion on the whole Miley saga is a guarantee of some press coverage, anybody and everybody with designs on a mention as In Touch sidebar started piling on with judgemental tweets of their own.

Wisely, Miley took a more measured approach in her second round of responses:

So we look forward to the pair getting together for a coffee sometime soon and twerking hugging it out.

Two Perfect Going Out Hairdos

Most professionally done hair is impossible to replicate at home. Well, Cosmopolitan.com to your rescue with two looks that hardly fall into the "oh, hell no, I could never redo that style by myself" category of hairdos.

Hairstylist Matt Fugate shows us how it's done.

First up, the clean but messy slicked-back style seen at DanniJo's New York Fashion Week show. Think Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian — the sister trio wears this look and it's stunning (very rocker chic) on them, which means it will look even better on you.

Here's how to recreate Dannijo's "wet" look:

1. Start with your natural dry texture.

2. Wet your hairline. "Use a salt spray" — like the O&M Surf Bomb Salt Spray that Jessica Matlin used here — "especially if you have fine hair, since you want to create a bit of texture and hold," says Fugate. "If you have thick or curly hair, use gel to wet your hairline, since the formula is stronger and will provide more hold."

3. Smooth the sides. "Take a fine-tooth comb and slick back the sides of your hair," he adds. "This will give you that bump-free effect and sleekifying the overall appearance."

4. Clip and let it "dry". "The reason it's called the "wet" look is because your hair really isn't wet, it has just been saturated with product and then left to dry, leaving you with a wet-looking finish," Fugate says. "So it's important to secure the smoothed sides with a clip, so that they dry in the slicked-back formation. If you feel more comfortable bobby pinning the sides back so that it doesn't fall mid date or while you're dancing the night away, you can do that too."

5. Use your fingers to add texture. "Take your fingertips and rake them through your hair from your hairline to the crown of your head," he says. "This will give you that piece-y, textured look that you want at the top of your head for that rocker feel."

6. Finish with hairspray. "To add a little extra hold, use a medium-hold hairspray to lock in your look," Fugate adds.

7. Wear the "wet" look like the badass you are.

Next up, Rebecca Minkoff's milkmaid braid. And no, you don't have to be 1. Swedish to pull off this look or 2. A pro at doing hair to actually execute this style!

Here's how to get these gorgeous milkmaid braids:

1. Create a side part. "Part your hair in line with the arch in your left eyebrow," says Fugate. "You can use your pinky finger to create it, since it doesn't need to be perfect."

2. Give yourself some pigtails. "Separate your hair into two pigtails" —like Natalie Zfat did above — "leaving a tiny sliver of hair out on each side, securing each ponytail with an elastic band," he adds. "This anchors the braids you're about to create."

3. Wrap the sliver of hair around your hair tie. "To give your pigtails (and overall style) a cleaner look, wrap the sliver of hair you left out in the step above around each hair tie, and secure it with a bobby pin," says Fugate.

4. Separate your pigtail into two sections. "This preps your hair for the fishtail braid you're about to make," he says.

5. Weave a fishtail braid. "Working on one pigtail at a time, start by separating it into two sections, holding one in your left and right hand," Fugate explains. "Then, take a sliver of hair from the outer side of the section in your left hand and cross it to over the inner side of the gathered hair in your right hand. Repeat this same action, starting with the section in the right hand and continue this back and forth until you reach your ends."

6. Secure the braid with an elastic, so it doesn't unravel. "And then gently pull it apart with your fingers to create a thicker-looking braid and to give it added texture before you wrap it over your head," he says.

7. Wrap the braids across the top of your head. "Take the right braid and pull it over your head, so that it lands directly in between your hairline and the crown of your head," Fugate says. "Then bobby pin it at the base and at the ends so it stays in place."

8. Repeat step 7. on the left side. "Just be sure to tuck the ends underneath the first braid you wrapped over your head to conceal them so it looks polished."

9. Finish with a little hairspray.

10. Wear your milkmaid braid like nobody's business.

A Real Girl's Guide to Going Sheer

Sheer clothing has been allover the runways and the red carpet, and we don't think it's going anywhere just because fall is setting in. Though we certainly are not planning on taking it as far as Miss Erin Wasson over here, we are digging ensembles with tasteful sheer accents and hints of skin. So we enlisted the help of; Maidenform Fashion Director, Norah Alberto, to get the scoop on how to feel confident wearing this high-fashion peek-a-boo trend without looking tacky.

Only One Item at a Time: Don't go overboard with this one! "Never wear two pieces of sheer clothing at the same time," says Alberto. "A blouse in a neutral color is one of the easiest ways to wear this look."

Layer if Wearing Sheer at Work: While it may seem like this is a trend that can't be worn in the office, there are ways to make it look professional. Try a solid nude tank or camisole underneath a sheer top and paired with a tailored blazer. Or if you're going for a bolder look, try a color or patterned long sleeve see-through shirt and a solid slim pant. "Depending on the print and color, I still like a solid, tailored tank, but you can play with color here," says Alberto. Also be sure to keep accessories to a minimum—let the sheer piece make the statement.

Play with Sheer Accents for Date Night: "Sheer can look amazing as an accent to a little black dress," Alberto explains. Try a dress with sheer panels or simple sheer accents and wear with a flesh toned slip. If you'd prefer to wear jeans and heels on your night out, try a sheer blouse, but amp up the sexiness with a textured cami underneath, like lace!

When in Doubt, Accentuate the Top Half of Your Body: If you're unsure how you want to rock the sheer trend, pick a piece of clothing that accentuates the top half of your body. "The neck and shoulder areas are safe to reveal, while still giving off a hint of sexy," Alberto explains. Another chic option? Matching your tank under the sheer blouse to your pants—it will create an elongated look.

Never Pair a Sheer Blouse with Just a Bra: This one is better left for the models, as Alberto says! "Wearing simply a bra with a sheer top just doesn't translate the same way in everyday life," she explains. "Before you leave the house, take a long look in the mirror—especially since, with the sheer trend, everyone will be seeing a lot of you!"

Everyone's Going Nuts for Coconut Water—Even Beauty Companies!

Coconut water: Given its high electrolyte content, not only is it Mother Nature's version of Gatorade (which we're downing this summer like it's our job), it's equally hydrating and beneficial when it's applied to your skin topically.

We figured as much but wanted to be sure, so we asked Ron Robinson, a cosmetic chemist and founder of beautystat.com, to confirm this nugget of information—especially after we saw a bunch of beauty products roll into the office that were infused with the clear liquid.

"Coconut water can help replenish dehydrated skin when applied topically, because of the amino acids it contains that immediately hydrate it. However, it needs to be on your skin long enough to make a difference," he says. Fair point.

Curious as to which beauty co.'s are creating coconut water-infused loot? Here are some of the latest launches to go nuts for:

Who doesn't love a good cheek color? Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee, $22, josiemarancosmetics.com, is a hybrid of a cheek stain and a cream blush that offers up 14 hours worth of wear and hydrates your skin all at once. Bonus: This coral shade is universally flattering, so it looks good on all skin tones.

The coconut water in Pacifica Purify Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes, $6, target.com, hydrates skin while removing oil, pollutants, and make-up from your skin. The papaya also infused in them helps exfoliate, and the aloe vera and soothing calendula they contain calm any redness caused by the scorching summer heat. By the by, these are the most amazing smelling wipes. Ever.

Ready to switch up your serum? Joey New York Quick Results Keep It Up Serum, $42, dermstore.com, uses coconut water to replenish a parched complexion, leaving your skin plump and sexy-looking, while the peptides and ginseng it has soften fine lines and help tighten pores.

When you suds up, we suggest choosing a highly hydrating formula, like Dial Coconut Water and Bamboo Leaf Extract Body Wash, $4, walmart.com. Not only does it have nature's premium hydrator that's packed with antioxidants, it also has skin-soothing bamboo extract. Translation: You can most likely skip slathering on body lotion post-shower.

If your skin breaks out by meerly glancing at a cleanser you don't normally use, rest-assured with this one: Skin by Ann Webb Coconut Water Sensitive Skin Cleanser, $9, swansonvitamins.com, that's vegan, gluten-, paraben-, and phthalate-free, so it won't bother your skin at it deep cleans it. However, to get the full hydrating benefits of its coconut water contents, apply it in circular motions to cleanse and then let it soak in for a few minutes before rinsing.

If you're already a fan of coconut water, will you be picking up these products to incorporate in your a.m. and p.m. regimen?

Going Even Deeper Inside Amy Schumer

Sweet news, everybody! Comedy Central's Inside Amy Schumer, the hilariously raunchy sketch show, is being renewed for a second season. Woop woop! Amy Schumer, the star of the show, tweeted the awesome news this week.

The premiere of the show was actually the network's biggest debut of 2013 with 1.6 million viewers. Booyah! And some dingle berries keep trying to say women aren't funny! Numbers don't lie, yo.

The show, which is a combination of sketches, stand-up and man-on-the-street interviews is tied together by one main rule: Nothing is sacred. Whether it's using her friend's cancer diagnosis to make herself look better or pooping in a cup on to get on TV, Amy Schumer will do anything as long as its super f*cked up. If it will make her look like a monster, she's in.

The funniest sketch of the season so far is "One Night Stand." It starts off with the morning after a one night stand. As soon as Amy leaves the random dude's house she spends the rest of the day tasting wedding cakes, opening a joint bank account, and picking out side-by-side funeral plots. You know, woman-stuff. I don't want to out myself as f*cking insane or anything but this was preeeeety relatable. Why lie, anytime a guy even hits on me, I'm like, "OMG, I met my husband!" Anyone else? Just me? Cool.

Amy, if you're reading this blog post right now, (how exciting!) I have some bangin' ideas for Season 2. Check it:

Amy being forced to babysit a newborn and putting it up for adoption because she wants to go to a fun party.
Amy trying to sell her eggs for cash but being refused because of her IQ.
Amy explaining to man she's dating that she has an STD (actually she has all of them).
Amy cheats on her boyfriend with his Siamese twin.

Cosmo gals, what would YOU love to see the Schumz get up to in Season 2?

A Guy On Girls: Going Out with a Bang

Bird do it; bees do it; even Shoshanna does it (in a zipped hoodie, which is usually something of a red flag for the other participating party). It’s the season finale of "Girls," y’all, and everyone’s using the occasional as an excuse to get freeakaayyy.

Well, except for Hannah. Hannah’s too busy fielding phone calls from her litigious e-publisher and eating tubs of Cool Whip and giving herself a haircut that makes her look like that Rachel Dratch "SNL" character with the baby arm growing out of her head. But everyone else is getting busy—in the saddest way possible, of course.

Charlie’s newfound oral skills make Marnie wonder how many women he’s been with since they broke up; Adam’s return to conventional sex just makes him want to bang his head (which he does repeatedly on the headboard); and Ray is rebuffed by a decidedly overdressed Shosh with the classic line, “Will you get out of me?” The answer to that question is rarely “No.”

Unless you’re Adam. Am I the only one confused by how quickly "Girls" glossed over Adam’s rapey-ness last episode? I guess if the girl you’re with doesn’t dig nonconsensual pop shots then she’s just not the dirty little whore for you.

And how does that square with the weird, rom-com-y final montage that finds Adam running shirtless through Brooklyn to be by Hannah’s side? Should we assume he gave her a heartfelt donkey punch after the credits rolled? I saw Hugh Grant do that once in "Notting Hill’s" unrated DVD extras. That guy is so smooth.

If Adam really cared, he would have taken a cab. And, by the way, do you have to wear a shirt to ride the subway? Has Mayor Bloomberg addressed this? It probably falls into some gray, “frowned upon” territory, but it might also be a great way to snag a seat during the morning rush hour and/or ensure you always know which Craigslist Missed Connections posts are about you.

As far as season finales go, this one was pretty blah. Charlie and Marnie end up together, Ray trades Latin Studies for a classy, Brooklyn Heights coffee shop, Hannah doesn’t finish (start?) her book, Jessa doesn’t even bother to answer her phone (who can blame her?), and the ex-junkie Laird slings a sharp zinger about the dark scene inside Hannah’s head.

But it’s Shosh who eulogizes this season better than anyone while breaking up with the interminably bleak Ray: “Maybe I can deal with your black soul better when I’m older, but I can’t handle it now. So maybe you just have to go change and then we can be in love at another time.”

"Girls"—maybe. But one of us is going to have to change if this thing is going to last.
