Kathie Lee and Hoda Try Crazy Lip-Plumping, Duck-Face Device

In a quest for fuller lips, the Today show's Kathie Lee and Hoda tried out Fullips Lip Enhancers — a plastic cylinder you suck into that's supposed to plump your lips.

And here's what they thought about this little red contraption:

I also took this lip plumping tool for a test drive during one of my "Beauty or Bullsh*t?" segments. See my test run here:

Your Boyfriend's Ex Probably Isn't Crazy

Right now there is a fascinating, unsettling piece by Natasha Vargas-Cooper on The Awl about her boyfriend’s unstable ex-girlfriend, who they slapped with a restraining order after she threatened them repeatedly, broke into their house in the middle of the night and slapped Vargas-Cooper. The ethics of the piece are sort of murky, as they tend to be when a professional writer maligns a person who can't speak for themselves in the essay, but Vargas-Cooper was thrown into a terrifying situation that tested her own limits for hatred and violence, which she frankly admits. At one point, she wonders how complicit her boyfriend (who, overall, she writes about lovingly and blamelessly) was in his relationship with the woman — how much he fed into her craziness.

Fortunately, most of us haven’t been in a situation as extreme as Vargas-Cooper’s, but you frequently do hear about how “crazy” a guy’s ex-girlfriend was. “Yeah, she was really crazy,” he casually says, munching on a cheese fry. “Reeeeeeally nuts. Glad I’m out of that relationship!”

This is easy to believe, mostly because it's also fun to believe — to report back to your friends about his crazy ex, to check her out on Facebook and talk shit on her, and to have the consistent inner monologue that you’re so much better than that psycho-bitch he used to go out with. It’s the reason that cheated-on and cheated-with women often turn on each other instead of attacking the guy who screwed them both over. Shitting on other women where men are concerned is sort of primal and instinctive to a lot of us, and it’s deeply unappealing. We’re well past the hunting and gathering days.

The core of my argument is that the concept of “crazy,” like the concept of “needy,” is relative, and I think we all know that. Before the stalking and harassment transpired, Vargas-Cooper had heard that the woman was “crazy,” but writes, “I [knew] the value ‘crazy’ has in the currency of gossip. I know it’s a term most often applied to a female partner when she falls below the expectations of a group.”

Frankly, short of true restraining-order-for-assault craziness, oftentimes the labels of “crazy” or “needy” are applied to women who simply ask for more than the guys they’re hooking up with are willing to give them. This could range from “text me 70 times a day” to “call me on my birthday” to “acknowledge my presence when we are at a party together.” There is a very good Jezebel post about this by Tracy Moore, which lances an (old! Embarrassing!) Cosmo piece about how not to be “That Girl.” Meaning how not to come across as needy or crazy by his definition, not yours. And we all know that basing your actions entirely on how he may or may not perceive them is the primrose path to a big pile of shit.

And the end of relationships are often heated and passionate on both sides. When your relationship with this guy ends, he could be eating cheese fries with some other girl and talking about how crazy you are. As far as I'm concerned, when a guy calls his ex crazy, it should be a red flag. It's déclassé to talk shit on your ex to your current romantic prospect in the early stages of a relationship — besides, you should have more interesting, positive conversation topics than ragging on some woman who's not even at the table — and it may just reflect more on him than her.

Bride Freak-Dances Down the Aisle to "Crazy B*tch"

I am of the opinion that all weddings are allowed to be unique snowflake bonanzas tailored to each individual couple. Want to have 80 bridesmaids? Sure, whatever. Want to make them wear only black and yellow? Awesome! Let your matrimonial freak flag fly. But walk down the aisle to a bump and grind jam filled with f-bombs? Hmm...

Well...this is exactly what Theresa Semonski, a 43-year-old bride from Illinois, did. While her lovely hair, dress, and veil were deceptively traditional, Semonski's ceremony song of choice was not. She walked grinded and squatted down the aisle to "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry, which is kiiind of like playing the Ying Yang Twins' "Wait (The Whisper Song)" at your small daughter's first communion. A horrible idea.

The best part of the entire video is this normal-looking aghast father covering his son's ears:

Like, how well does this man know the bride? He must be a co-worker or something who didn't realize she might freak-dance down the aisle to a song that contains lyrics like, "You're crazy but I like the way you fuck me." The guy probably won't bring his son to a wedding again until he's at least of legal driving age.

10 Crazy Sex Questions From Reddit: Answered!

1. Reddit user casualiama confesses: "I had sex with some uncooked pizza dough." He adds: "In short, it was one of the best things in my life." This American Pie-esque reveal raises the question: What do you do if your guy likes having sex with carbs or other foodstuffs?

Well...if your guy enjoys boinking pizza dough, be sure that he uses a condom, Dr. Allison says: "Not because he risks getting the pizza pregnant, but because you don't want to get a yeast infection from the yeast in the dough when you and he cook up some of your own fun." But to put this in perspective, she notes: "Some people enjoy getting it on with inanimate objects...a vibrator or a dildo is an inanimate object, right?" BUSTED!

2. Reddit's regretfulbadger is carrying around a steamy sexual secret: "I want my girl to pound my ass!" He spills: "I have a massive ass fetish. I love grabbing, biting, slapping, rimming, and f*cking her ass. I want to have my girl do me in the butt. I once came for her just thrusting a butt plug into my bum. How do we go about fulfilling my fantasy? I found this toy called the Feeldoe which is essentially a strapless strap-on-like dildo. Should we use this?"

"Not that everyone has to be into everything, but it's refreshing to hear from a man who isn't all about 'one way' butt play," Dr. Allison notes. "What you're describing is a term Dan Savage's followers helped name, which is called pegging" (translation: "when a woman penetrates a man's anus with a strap-on dildo"). She recommends buying and watching Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide To Pegging, which she calls both super-hot and super informative.

3. "I have a fart fetish," Dascalio told Reddit's sex-chat channel. He wonders: "What should I do? Should I embrace it? Would a girl think it's weird if a guy asked her to fart on his penis?"

Dascalio, you're not alone! A recent study examined the case of "Brad," a guy with a passionate case of eproctophilia. Yes, he gets off on women who pass gas. Balk all you want, but Dr. Allison says: "Embracing what turns you on is usually a good thing for self-esteem as long as it's safe, sane and consensual." But will a girl think it's weird...uh, can't hurt to ask?  "If it's something you really enjoy having done to you, there are probably other people out there who enjoy doing it, too," Dr. Allison points out. But if a partner says they're not into it, drop it right away.

4. "You better sit down for this," Reddit's SillyRocket wrote: "My wife has a poop fetish and has orgasms while pooping." We can't help but ponder: How safe is bringing poop into the bedroom?

"Feces and vaginas are always a bad idea—not because getting turned on by feces is bad, but because bacteria in feces isn't vagina-friendly and can lead to infections," Dr. Allison says. She suggests using gloves—and lots of plastic wrap—to keep feces from coming into contact with skin and genitals.

5. "How much is too much come?" asked Reddit user 2crazy. "I come a lot after sex (like two shots worth). Is this normal? What is the average about of semen a guy ejaculates after he has an orgasm?"

Everyone is different. "Some men ejaculate more than others, and ejaculations can vary from orgasm to orgasm. As long as you're not in pain and the sex you're having is consensual, rock it out and enjoy," Dr. Allison says. And if your guy comes a lot, just keep a towel nearby.

6. Ah, the plague of adolescents males everywhere: "Just by making contact with a girl, i get an erection," HwKer lamented. "Help!?"

Indeed most men have experienced getting a boner when they weren't trying to get one. To cope, Dr. Allison suggests two options: Explore breathing and visualization techniques to see if you can develop the ability to quiet the arousal with your mind, or embrace the erection so as not to shame your body. (Ladies on the dancefloor, beware.)

7. "I had sex with my wife while I was asleep," spilled Reddit's M_C_K: "I kind of came to to find my wife on top of me, riding me. I then drifted in and out of the dream for quite a while, but the whole time I continued to have (rough) sex with her."

Welp, sweet dreams indeed! Sex while sleeping is called "sexsomnia." According to studies, it mostly affects men and happens during sleep where the cortex — the thinking, planning, awareness part of the brain — gets switched off, but the brain stem, the part responsible for the basic urges like the drive to eat or have sex, is still working. Depending on the person, sexsomnia can be exciting and interesting, but in some cases, it may be destructive and abusive. If things feel like the latter, seek help from a therapist.

8. What if two people just don't fit together during sex? Reddit user 6168675309 says he's "6'3", 215 lbs, she's 5'3" 105 lbs...Being with this girl, all of the angles seem wrong. I just couldn't quite get a hold on where to put my hands and feet. It seems to be mostly the missionary position that is causing me trouble. Any advice?"

There are a lot of creative ways to make up for a difference in stature! Try straddling him while he's sitting or laying down. If you don’t always want to be on top, spooning is another great height-equalizer. Lie on your side in a semi-fetal position, and have your boyfriend lie behind you in the same configuration.

9. Is there really such thing as tantric sex? "So I keep hearing stories of sweaty, mind blowing sessions lasting for hours, and I want to know HOW!" exclaims Reddit user throwawaysexycunt. "Is it just pounding the whole time, or do you take breaks? Do you guys come several times, or do you just delay it waiting for the right moment to finish it off? What about foreplay, and what can I do as the girl to make the sex last longer?"

Great news: hours-long sex is totally possible! But: it depends on what your definition of "sex" is. "Communicate about what you want from each other and then do it really, really slowly," Dr. Allison advises. "If you want to really experiment, explore tantra and Taoist sexual practices, which include various approaches to prolonging orgasm and ejaculation in men so that they can last longer. Or, just draw out the foreplay before you two start really going at it.

10. Reddit's just1question12 wants to know: Is "the way a girl's vagina looks a direct indication of how much sex she has had?" In his experience, "some vaginas look like they have never been touched and others look like they have seen a few penises in their day." (He adds a polite disclaimer: "Sorry if this is too inappropriate to ask or if I am an asshole for asking.")

Actually, the notion of a "stretched-out vagina" is a myth. "You can't tell how much sex anyone—man or woman—has had from what their genitals look like," Dr. Allison says. "We all have preferences on what we like things to look like, but profiling someone's sexual experience from how their genitals look is just a bad idea."

Gwyneth Paltrow's Crazy Diet: What To Kick and What To Keep

In actress-turned-lifestyle guru Gwyneth Paltrow’s new cookbook It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great, the list of foods that she claims to have axed from her personal diet will almost certainly give you sadface. Specifically: coffee, eggs, sugar, shellfish, deepwater fish, potatoes, tomatoes, bell pepper, eggplant, corn, wheat and meat.

For those of us who cannot subsist solely on 14-carat-gold seaweed rolls filled with nothing (New recipe idea, Gwynnie: Air Sushi!), we broke down Gwyneth’s food no-nos with New York-based dietician Marissa Lippert, MS, RD., who offers nutrition counseling with an emphasis on organic, farm-to-table meals at Nourish NYC.

Wheat/gluten: There’s some value to what Gwyneth’s saying about wheat and gluten intake. Most of us eat too much refined wheat. Instead, Marissa recommends sunflower whole wheat bread, quinoa, faro, and other “good carbs.”

Potatoes: Marissa suggests that this may have more to do with feeling full/heavy after eating spuds rather than any kind of health risk or allergy. Potatoes—especially sweet potatoes—contain fiber, iron and vitamin C.

Pepper/eggplant: Where Gwyneth is probably coming from here is an emphasis that Eastern medicine has on the cons of nightshade (a diverse group of foods, plants and herbs that are high in an alkaloid called solanine, which also includes potatoes, tobacco, tomatoes, paprika, pimento and cayenne peppers).

Shellfish, deepwater fish: As for the deepwater, it’s probably concern over the mercury content. Marissa recommends salmon as a crazy-healthy alternative. (Incidentally, so does Gwyneth.)

Tomatoes: They’re one of the best antioxidant sources out there, especially when cooked!

Coffee: Yup, we’ve all heard this one before. But Marissa says that one to two cups a day of your Mr. Coffee office brew is okay. Just don’t overdo it.

Sugar: Gwynnie’s on to something. It goes without saying that a high intake of processed sugar—NOT just the occasional cupcake—is one of the worst things you can do to your body. High levels of sugar and sodium are all around us, even in unexpected places (like ketchup.)

On the other hand, fresh fruit is one place to get “good” sugar, and it will change the sort of uppers that your body craves.

Meat: To us, this one was quite surprising, as chicken (if not steak, pork, and other obvious cholesterol-spikers) is often found on acceptable diet food lists. “It’s all about how the chicken was raised and fed,” says Marissa. She recommends getting free range, organic birds whenever possible.

Eggs: What?! No! Luckily, eggs can stay in your life. It's the same as the chicken requirements above—it’s all about where your omelet was before it was on the plate. “There’s a totally different nutrient profile when you buy locally-sourced eggs,” says Marissa.

So while you may not want to axe all of these delicious dishes from your daily nutrition regimen, you can certainly rock it Gwyneth-style when it comes to caffeine, sugar, and carefully-curated local products. Look for Marissa Lippert's new restaurant in New York's West Village, Nourish Kitchen Table, slated to open this May with farm-fresh meals.

The Phone Tat—Cool or Crazy?

File this under “crazy tech we don’t want”: Nokia is reportedly developing an invention that would cause a tattoo on your skin to vibrate when your phone does. (And no, this isn’t a joke.)

The company recently filed an application to patent the invention, which would involve tattooing, stamping, or spraying “ferromagnetic” material onto your skin or a fingernail, and linking it to a phone. If you had the technology, your skin or nail would vibrate when your phone goes off—for an incoming call, new text, email, or calendar alert. Um…

The patent application said the vibration could be any kind of pulse (one short one, multiple shorts ones, a long one, etc), and suggests that the marking could be invisible for people who aren’t exactly cool with the idea of getting a tat for their phone company.

The filing also said that the tech could be used as an identity check to log into your computer, or at an airport.

We can’t imagine that people wouldn’t be freaked out by this concept. And, since your phone already has a ringer, we’re not sure why anyone would want (or need) their skin to vibrate, too.

Would you get a phone tat?

The Crazy New Method of Male Birth Control: Ball-Zapping

Over the past year, we’ve read various reports on different forms of male birth control that are in the works. So far, scientists have announced that they’re developing a pill, a patch, and an injection.

The latest? A…uh…ball-zapper. According to a new University of North Carolina study on male rats, sound waves can be used to reduce sperm counts to a level that would prevent pregnancy in humans.

Researchers found that two 15-minute doses from an ultrasound machine significantly reduced sperm levels to the point where human men would be considered “sub-fertile” (i.e. unable to get you pregnant).

The zaps were most effective when they were given two days apart and transmitted through warm sea water. So, if this actually goes into production, men will go to the doctor’s office to put their boys in warm salt water and flip through a magazine while getting zapped with sound waves.

We’re all for having guys step up in the fight against an unwanted pregnancy, but this definitely sounds like male torture. Apparently, this concept was first introduced in the ‘70s and then picked up again recently with new research funds. The good news is that men who tried it said the ultrasounds didn’t hurt— they just felt warm.

That said, we can’t think of many dudes who would be down for getting their junk zapped—pain or no pain. Researchers say more studies are needed before they know the long-term effects of this method. At the moment, they’re unsure whether the zaps would be effective for a few months or could permanently lower a man’s sperm count, but they’re hopeful that it could become a common method of birth control.

What do you think—would you want your guy to try this?
