The World's Best Makeup Artist Demonstrates How to Create The Perfect Angelic Glow

A warm, romantic glow is suitable for any season. Thankfully, pro makeup artist Pat McGrath shows and tells us how to recreate it on model Kate King, using Dolce & Gabbana's gorgeous new Spring/Summer 2014 Collection — along with some other beautiful must-haves from D&G — in this exclusive Cosmopolitan.com video.

1. Ace your base. Start with Perfect Liquid Luminous Foundation and the Perfect Luminous Concealer. “Take the foundation and use one shade that's a little warmer around the cheek area for this gorgeous, Sophia Loren, sun-kissed feel,” McGrath says.

2. Accentuate your eyes. Take a gold eyeshadow and sweep it across the lids and dab a little bit on the inner corners of the eyes. “It’s nice also to do this with a little bit of a wet brush so that you get that real intensity,” McGrath says. Then, take The Eyeshadow Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Desert and use the medium brown tone under the eyes and a little bit in the socket for a soft golden eye.

3. Line your eyes. To make the eyes brighter and take away any redness, McGrath applied a nude pencil to the waterline. Then she drew a small line on the outer corners of the eyes with The Eyeliner Crayon Intense in Chocolate and went over it with the Glam Liner in Baroque Bronze.

4. Fake flirty, flushed cheeks. McGrath dusted The Blush Luminous Cheek Colour in Rosebud, Apricot, and Peach on the cheeks, the hairline, and the chin for an all-over glow.

5. Swipe on a subtle pink lip color. "We have these fantastic new lip colors, Bellisima and Traviata, and I literally mix them together on my hand and then just pat it on the lips to give this fantastic, beautiful, kind of spring fresh color," McGrath says.

Now you have a natural, sun-kissed glow just like Sophia Loren. Thanks, Pat!

Taylor Swift Gives Insufferably Perfect Quote About Nudity

Taylor Swift has ruled out stripping off any time soon.

The 'I Knew You Were Trouble' singer told Glamour magazine that she doesn't have the urge to use her sex appeal, instead preferring to focus on her songwriting.

"I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don't really feel like taking them off," said Swift. "It's not an urge I have.

"For me, 'risky' is revealing what really happened in my life through music. Risky is writing confessional songs and telling the true story about a person with enough details so everyone knows who that person is.

"That's putting myself out there, maybe even more than taking my shirt off."

Swift is currently in the UK as part of her 'Red' tour.

Sam Smith joined the star on stage during her second show at The O2 on February 2, performing 'Money on My Mind'.

How To Make Fake Hair Extensions Look Perfect and Natural

If you have more of a Snow White hair situation going on, but you want to be Rapunzel for the night, then you clicked on the right story. Tommy Buckett, a stylist from the Serge Normant Salon in NYC, shares his secret on getting longer locks in minutes.

First things first: when you're buying realistic-looking extensions, it's all about investing in a set — they can be real or synthetic, depending on how much you want to spend — that match your hair color perfectly. Keep in mind though that human hair extensions hold up better, because you can shampoo and dry them, curl, flat iron, and style them as you would your real hair. Synthetic extensions don't blend in as seamlessly, can get tangled easily, and can't be styled and re-styled over and over.

OK, now that you've purchased a good set of extensions, here's how to clip them in yourself:

1. Part your hair and tease it. "You'll want to part your hair in line with the arches in your eyebrows — that way when you eventually flip your hair back over the part you just made it will cover the extension — and then tease the hair below the part with a rattail comb to give the extension clip something to grab onto, so it won't slip off," Buckett says.

2. Take one section of extensions and clip them into the teased hair along the part. Repeat steps one and two on the other side and at the back of your head, so your hair is exactly one length the entire way around.

3. Cut your extensions to make them blend in with your existing cut. "It's best to cut up into your extensions, holding your scissors vertically, so the hair isn't bluntly cut," says Buckett. "Be realistic on the blending length; leave them four to five inches longer than your natural hair, so they look real."

4. Curl your hair and the extensions to blend everything together seamlessly. If you're using synthetic extensions, make sure they're able to be curled with a hot tool before doing so to avoid any mishaps. Then, set your style with some hairspray. Anna used Garnier Fructis Flexible Control Anti-Humidity Hairspray.

Finally, flaunt your new length and Instagram your sexy self while you're at it.

Makeup Tutorial: How To Create a Perfect Cat Eye Every Single Time

Can't quite master the art of creating a cat eye? Makeup artist Lauren Cosenza shows and tells you just how to wing it — perfectly.

1. Wing it out. "Using a high-quality eyeliner brush, dip the tip into a black gel eyeliner pot and start creating the tail of what will be the wing of your liner," says Cosenza. "Begin at the outer corner of your eye, angling the brush toward your temple (not the tail of your brow) for a more everyday (versus night) kind of look." Charlotte used Make Up For Ever Aqua Creamliner.

2. Create dashes and connect the dots. "Run the same gel liner along your top lash line — starting from a quarter of the way in from the inner corner of your eye (where your lashes begin) — using dashed guidelines," she says. "Then, connect the dots to help you draw a smooth, straight line."

3. Draw a tiny, elongated triangle off of the tail you created in step one. "Using your eyeliner brush, make a diagonal line that comes off of the winged liner you drew in step one and connect it to the liner you just traced along your upper lash line," says Cosenza.

4. Fill in the triangle shape that connects the winged liner to the upper lash line. And make it look fluid by thickening the liner along your upper lash line with a felt-tip liquid liner, like L'OrĂ©al Lineur Intense Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner.

5. Clean up any imperfections. And sharpen lines (if yours were wobbly) with a makeup remover pen.

Here's to applying winged liner like a pro and getting it right every single time.

How to Get Perfect Textured Waves

Got stick-straight hair and want to add some movement into your mane's mix? Then you're in luck. Tommy Buckett, a stylist from the Serge Normant Salon in NYC, shares his secret to getting cool-girl texture below.

1. Create imperfect spirals. "Start by wrapping your straight hair around the rod of a curling iron, leaving the ends out just a bit so they're not perfectly finished," Buckett says. "Then, switch up the way you wrap each section around the rod — one over and then another under and around — to make each spiral different from the next. This gives a more natural effect."

2. Scrunch up your strands. Buckett told hair Bianca to cup the ends of her hair and scrunch the whole way up to her roots to make the curls look piece-y.

3. Spritz your hair. To give it cool-girl texture and added volume, spray a thickening formula over your entire head. Bianca used Philip B. Maui Wowie Volumizing and Thickening Beach Mist.

4. Tug gently on your curls. "This will make them less curly, leaving you with a wavy texture," he says.

Finally, add some bling — Bianca threw on a Jennifer Behr headpiece — pose and take a selfie of your gorgeously textured hair.

8 Tips for the Perfect New Year's Eve Kiss

1. Do you feel good about yourself? You do, right? Oh, you don’t? Put on something with a shorter skirt or a lower-cut top to distract others from any potential low self-esteem that might consistently radiate out of you like a single-beam lighthouse. That’s what I do. Also, make sure you’re wearing something with sequins, because if you don’t wear sequins, you’ll be stuck in December 31, 2013 forever, like a sartorially based Groundhog’s Day.

2. Watch movies that will get you in the spirit of putting your lips on some other person's lips because 2014. Like the acclaimed ensemble dramas New Year's Eve, When Harry Met Sally, and Silence of the Lambs.

The perfect holiday movie for all ages.

3. Decide who you’re going to kiss. Is there anyone at the party you’re going to you like, or are attracted to, or at least not physically repelled by? It should be someone new, not someone you’ve dated before. That’s against the spirit of New Year’s Eve, which is all about forging a brand-new awkward, dysfunctional relationship, not double-dipping in your own bullshit sexual history as if anything will be different this time.

4. Make sure you’re drinking just enough, but not too much. Be the Goldilocks of functional alcoholism. Al Pacino once said, “The best feeling in the world is between the second and third martini.” And Al Pacino probably secretly fathered all of us, so he knows what he’s talking about.

This, except it's very likely that it is because you are lonely and because it is New Year's Eve.

5. Ignore the person you picked to kiss for most of the night. I have been guilty of many a halfhearted “hover near Subj. like awkward satellite to make sure he notices my boobs and the fact that I’m talking to other men and ~**~*tOsSiNg mY hAiR!~**~*~,” and in retrospect, that shit is pretty obvious. I do kind of think ignoring is crucial, though, unless you two are those Jim/Pam types who actually like each other because of friendship and banter and, you know, adult commuication. (Gross. If you like healthy adult relationships so much, why don’t you marry them?)

6. But do make sure you’re near him when the ball is about to drop. And he’s already got a chubby from Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, so he’s primed for your big move.

Ross and Monica know what I'm talking about.

7. Be prepared for anything. I mean anything, from the awkward non-kiss-back to “I’m married” to the guy morphing into a griffin and flying into a closed window.

8. Kiss him. But be classy about it. Don’t jump him like a she-wolf. Especially if you’re in a public place like a bar, or your grandma’s house.

Yay, you did it!

The Perfect Hair and Makeup to Nail Your Dream Job Interview

You just received a call for an interview at that job you've been wanting and your nerves are already through the roof. First, what to wear. Next, figuring out how the hell to do your hair and makeup. Don't panic. To the rescue: answers to your burning beauty questions on how to look insanely professional and chic when trying to lock down your dream job.

Q: What's the best way to do your hair for an interview?

A: The goal is to wear your hair how you're most comfortable — you just need to be sure it looks neat (aka free of frizz and flyaways). "I would approach a job interview like I approach getting my clients ready for the red carpet," celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend says. "You want to look polished but still look like you. Trying to take on another persona just to get the job probably isn't going to work out. So to ensure you don't have a bad hair day on the day of your interview, either get a blowout the day before, since the look will stay for 24 hours, or go for a sleek ponytail, wrapping a section of hair around the elastic to finish it. You could also create a chic French twist, a sleek top knot, or wrap your hair into a low bun." To tame flyaways, Townsend says to use his red-carpet trick, which is spritzing hairspray on a natural bristle toothbrush and smoothing them into place.

If it's humid out and you hair tends to puff up, don't try to fight the elements — instead, work with the natural texture of your hair, Townsend says. "If you have curly or wavy hair that's susceptible to humidity, you'll want to pull it back from the get-go. The last thing you'll want is to be worrying about what your hair looks like as you're being interviewed — you need to be confident and half of that is looking your best, so that you come across as your best self." To fight any moisture from humidity, Townsend suggests running Dove Treatment Nourishing Oil Care Anti-Frizz Serum through your hair to tame it a bit — from roots to ends — before you pull it into your chic, yet professional style of choice. "Then, before you put your bobby pins in your hair to secure your look, spray them with dry shampoo to give them some grip," he adds. "That way they don't become slippery against the serum that's already in your hair." If it's cold outside and you're dealing with static, head here to find out how to fix it.

Q: Is there a way to do your makeup that is sure to land you a job?

A: No. But there is a way to make sure your makeup doesn't distract the interviewer from your talent and charisma while you're in the hot seat.

An interview isn't the place to experiment with the latest runway trend you've seen. If you're going for a creative position, you might be able to push the envelope a litle more with your look, but overall you should want to focus on making yourself feel more confident with your makeup. You want people to remember you, not the crazy blue eyeliner you decided to wear because you thought it would separate you from your competition.

So, to nail your makeup on the big day: "Play up one feature only," makeup artist Gita Bass says. "If you're loving a bright lip, do a stain version so that the color isn't too intense. And if you like wearing a cat eye, tone it down a bit and draw on a kitten eye, where the flick at the outer corner of your eye doesn't extend that far. Also, always wear a light dusting of blush; wearing too much is the quickest way to look clown-like, so be sure it's applied lightly and blended properly. To do so, smudge a cream blush over the apples of your cheeks with your fingers — this combo looks most natural."

"Whatever you do," Bass says, "don't wear too much of the makeup you're applying, since it can look like you're trying to hide behind something. And don't pile on your base makeup — keep it natural. Spread on a sheer foundation or a BB Cream, and then spot conceal any trouble areas, like dark cirlces or blemishes."

Lastly, never — I repeat NEVER — wear a smoky eye to an interview. Save that look for da club when you celebrate getting said job you're going for.

Q: Can I wear nail color to an interview?

A: Yes and no. Yes, you can wear a color that is muted and won't steal the show-slash-focus from you, especially if you tend to talk with your hands. And no, you can't wear it if it's chipped. It looks unpolished and unprofessional.

To be safe, go for a nudish pink shade, like Essie's Nail Polish in Lady Like, because if it accidentally chips on the way to your interview, you and the person grilling you won't be able to tell as easily.

Here's to looking gorgeous and nailing your interview.

Two Perfect Going Out Hairdos

Most professionally done hair is impossible to replicate at home. Well, Cosmopolitan.com to your rescue with two looks that hardly fall into the "oh, hell no, I could never redo that style by myself" category of hairdos.

Hairstylist Matt Fugate shows us how it's done.

First up, the clean but messy slicked-back style seen at DanniJo's New York Fashion Week show. Think Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian — the sister trio wears this look and it's stunning (very rocker chic) on them, which means it will look even better on you.

Here's how to recreate Dannijo's "wet" look:

1. Start with your natural dry texture.

2. Wet your hairline. "Use a salt spray" — like the O&M Surf Bomb Salt Spray that Jessica Matlin used here — "especially if you have fine hair, since you want to create a bit of texture and hold," says Fugate. "If you have thick or curly hair, use gel to wet your hairline, since the formula is stronger and will provide more hold."

3. Smooth the sides. "Take a fine-tooth comb and slick back the sides of your hair," he adds. "This will give you that bump-free effect and sleekifying the overall appearance."

4. Clip and let it "dry". "The reason it's called the "wet" look is because your hair really isn't wet, it has just been saturated with product and then left to dry, leaving you with a wet-looking finish," Fugate says. "So it's important to secure the smoothed sides with a clip, so that they dry in the slicked-back formation. If you feel more comfortable bobby pinning the sides back so that it doesn't fall mid date or while you're dancing the night away, you can do that too."

5. Use your fingers to add texture. "Take your fingertips and rake them through your hair from your hairline to the crown of your head," he says. "This will give you that piece-y, textured look that you want at the top of your head for that rocker feel."

6. Finish with hairspray. "To add a little extra hold, use a medium-hold hairspray to lock in your look," Fugate adds.

7. Wear the "wet" look like the badass you are.

Next up, Rebecca Minkoff's milkmaid braid. And no, you don't have to be 1. Swedish to pull off this look or 2. A pro at doing hair to actually execute this style!

Here's how to get these gorgeous milkmaid braids:

1. Create a side part. "Part your hair in line with the arch in your left eyebrow," says Fugate. "You can use your pinky finger to create it, since it doesn't need to be perfect."

2. Give yourself some pigtails. "Separate your hair into two pigtails" —like Natalie Zfat did above — "leaving a tiny sliver of hair out on each side, securing each ponytail with an elastic band," he adds. "This anchors the braids you're about to create."

3. Wrap the sliver of hair around your hair tie. "To give your pigtails (and overall style) a cleaner look, wrap the sliver of hair you left out in the step above around each hair tie, and secure it with a bobby pin," says Fugate.

4. Separate your pigtail into two sections. "This preps your hair for the fishtail braid you're about to make," he says.

5. Weave a fishtail braid. "Working on one pigtail at a time, start by separating it into two sections, holding one in your left and right hand," Fugate explains. "Then, take a sliver of hair from the outer side of the section in your left hand and cross it to over the inner side of the gathered hair in your right hand. Repeat this same action, starting with the section in the right hand and continue this back and forth until you reach your ends."

6. Secure the braid with an elastic, so it doesn't unravel. "And then gently pull it apart with your fingers to create a thicker-looking braid and to give it added texture before you wrap it over your head," he says.

7. Wrap the braids across the top of your head. "Take the right braid and pull it over your head, so that it lands directly in between your hairline and the crown of your head," Fugate says. "Then bobby pin it at the base and at the ends so it stays in place."

8. Repeat step 7. on the left side. "Just be sure to tuck the ends underneath the first braid you wrapped over your head to conceal them so it looks polished."

9. Finish with a little hairspray.

10. Wear your milkmaid braid like nobody's business.

New Yoga Pants Hold the Promise of Perfect Gwyneth Paltrow Ass

We may be one step closer to perfect Gwyneth Paltrow asses.

Celeb trainer Tracy Anderson, who, as we exclusively reported, just launched a blow dry salon with business partner and BFF Gwyneth Paltrow, is now debuting a new line of workout pants, and we're pretty sure we need to get a pair of them—like now.

The pants, which come in full-length and capri, are engineered to help you best show off your assets while you break a sweat. Made with Compression Fit, the leggings keep your thighs slim and your butt perky—and they come with a no-muffin-top guarantee to boot. (Another bonus: They hopefully won't be see-through, like that controversial recent batch of Lululemons.)

We expect these fly new Goop-approved yoga pants will only fuel the fire of the recent YogaPantsGate 2013, in which high school parents have argued to ban stretchy pants in schools because they are "too distracting" to male students.

All we know is, we are so down with workout clothes that make us look—and feel—totally hot. After all, what's better motivation than pure, unadulterated, self-confidence?

Why Gel Products are Perfect for Summer

Hot, sticky, summer months call for lightweight skin care and makeup—period. Think of it like this: You lighten up your wardrobe in the summer, so you should do the same with your beauty routine.

That's why we love gel-based products in the summer. They're better for your skin than lotions and creams when it's hot out because they let your skin breathe, don't clog your pores, and feel lighter on, says Sarah Neumann, MMS, PA-C, owner of Ahwatukee Skin & Laser, a general and surgical dermatology practice in Phoenix, AZ.

Plus, they don't cause acne flare-ups, since they're oil-free.

Three to try: Garnier Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream, $6.29, cvs.com, Sue Devitt 70% Seaweed Gel Foundation, $38, amazon.com, Molton Brown Vitalising Vitamin AB+C Body Hydrating Gel, $39.06, amazon.com.

Will you be swapping out your usual lotion, cream, or foundation this summer?
