To thank her fans for immediately propelling her new single "Shake It Off" to the top of the charts, Taylor Swift released what is presumably the first in a series of "outtakes" from the set of the music video. Generally speaking, "outtakes" usually means "bloopers," but because this is the golden, perfect T-Swift goddess, here, it means, "Talking sincerely about how this catchy single might be relevant to teens with self-esteem problems."
"A lot of people who I think will relate to this song are people who are dealing with not ever really feeling cool with themselves, because other people make them feel like they don't fit in," Taylor explained in the clip. Are you surprised to find out that Taylor, a 24-year-old who earned $64 million last year, still doesn't think she fits in? Of course you're not! "You can get everything you want in life without ever feeling like you fit in," Taylor opined. "Selling millions of records doesn't make me feel cool. It makes me feel proud and like I have a lot of people on my side and I worked really hard, but I don't think it's the most important thing in life to fit in. I think it's the most important thing in life to dance to the beat of your own drum and to look like you're having more fun than the people who look cool."
