This Model's Stunning Video Will Change How You Feel About Your Body Forever

Melanie Gaydos has a genetic disorder called ectodermal dysplasia, which affects her pores, hair, teeth, and fingernails. She's also a high fashion model.

"When I go on a photo shoot, the other industry models don't know what to make of me," she says in an emotional new video for The What's Underneath Project. "They're usually like, 'What the fuck is this?' It's difficult for me in the fashion world; people think I'm a gimmick and that I'm just being exploited for my differences."

The What's Underneath Project interviews people about how they feel judged for their bodies as they gradually undress and show their bodies as they really are. By the end of her beautifully told story, Gaydos is in her underwear.

"I have thought how I would be if I was born without a cleft palate and with a full head of hair, and I think I would be really boring," she says. "Even though I've been through a lot, they're my experiences, and I like where everything has brought me today."

Stunning 68-Year-Old Lands Major Cosmetics Campaign

Nars Cosmetics just cast 68-year-old actress Charlotte Rampling for its forthcoming ad campaigns. WWD reports that the beauty brand's creative director François Nars will shoot Rampling — known for her work in The Duchess, Melancholia, and Dexter among other films — in black and white for their upcoming campaign. “She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable,” Nars told the paper.

While beauty ads often feature people who look 20, Nars isn't the first brand to put someone older than that in marketing material. MAC cast 90-year-old Iris Apfel did for a 2011 campaign and, as you can see, she crushed the whole modeling thing.

8 Stunning Two-Tone
Lip Looks You Need
to Try Now

1. A Sexy Ombré Black-to-Red Lip:

Want this exact lip look? Click here for the tutorial.

2. Cheery Creamsicle Orange and Bubblegum Pink:

This matte orange and Barbie pink lip may scream summer, but you can totally bust this bright duo out anytime, anywhere. To do so, layer a matte orange lip color, like MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Saigon Summer, $15, maccosmetics.com, over your top lip and a baby pink, non-shiny shade, such as Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Roman Holiday, $25, sephora.com, over your bottom lip.

3. A Magenta-Meets-Burgundy Moment:

If you're looking to dip your toe into this two-tone trend but don't want to be too daring, these hues are a must-try, since the two shades aren't too off from one another. To recreate the look, try: Illamasqua Lipstick in Anatomic, $24, sephora.com, a bright fuchsia shade, on top and a burgundy-colored hue on your bottom lip, like Burberry Beauty Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick in Bright Poppy, $30, nordstrom.com.

4. A Hot (Pink) Topic:

If just hot pink isn't bright enough for you, run your fingertip across the top of a vibrant orange-y red hue and, with your mouth closed, apply the pop of color to the center of your lips for a bold finish. Try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Matte in Harlot, $18, occmakeup.com, an orange-y red shade dabbed over NYX Cosmetics Black Label Lipstick in Hot Pink, $8, nyxcosmetics.com.

5. Scarlet on Top, Citrus on The Bottom:

Mix up a red lip by swiping an orange-y peach hue over your bottom lip. These two shades live in the same color family, so while you can tell you aren't wearing the same colors on your lips, the difference between them isn't that severe. (Orange you glad you switched up your signature look?) Try: Dior Diorific Lipstick in Ruby Red, $36, sephora.com, and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous, a peachy orange shade.

6. A Fuchsia That Fades to Black:

After you've layered a fuchsia base color, like CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Tempt, $7, drugstore.com, onto your lips, dab some black lipstick, like Ka'Oir Lipstick in Night, $16, kaoir.com, onto the center of them by pursing your lips first, and then patting the darker color in the middle. If you don't have a black lipstick handy, run a non-toxic black eye liner, like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero, $19, urbandecay.com, over your fingertip instead.

7. A Rich Red That Bleeds Into Black:

With this badass red-to-black look, rinse and repeat the above steps — just substitute your fuchsia formula for a red one.

8. Dusty Rose on Top, Rose Red on the Bottom:

Obsessed is the only word that comes to mind while looking at this two-tone lip. Apply a dusty rose hue over your top lip, like ELF Cosmetics Studio Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose, $3, eyeslipsface.com, and a crimson color on your bottom lip., such as NARS Red Lizard, $26, narscosmetics.com.

Consider your look for Saturday night complete! Now: I dare you to try one of these lip looks and tweet it at @Cosmopolitan. Who knows, you might just get a retweet.
