These 14 Photos of Dogs Eating Cakes Will Make Your Life

If you live on the East Coast, then you're probably already having a bad case of the winter blues thanks to the frigid temps and precipitation that just won't let up. And for the rest of the country, no matter what the weather, it's still just Wednesday, which means you're longing for Friday even though it seems forever away. Because of all that, we're going to let you in on a little secret. Here at Delish, when we're having a bad day, we like to look at exactly two things on the internet: cute dogs and cute cakes. And since this is a food website, we're going to do you one better ... we're going to show you some mind-blowingly adorable photos of dogs eating cake (and a few cookies). Here are 14 squeal-inducing pictures of dogs eating desserts that will lift your mood no matter what you're facing!

Important Note: Do not feed cake meant for humans to your dog! The cakes (and cookies) featured below all come from specialty dog bakeries that make fabulous pet-safe treats for pups with sweet teeth.

Plastic Surgeons Live-Tweet A Double Mastectomy, With Photos And A Playlist

Marking the start of this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the team at PRMA Plastic Surgery in San Antonio live-tweeted from their operating suite earlier this week. 39 year-old Arizona native Melissa Ray travelled to the surgery for a double mastectomy, a preventative procedure having tested positive for breast cancer gene. (Ray’s mother also died of breast cancer.)

PRMA’s surgeons specialize in “advanced breast reconstruction” procedures. Ray chose a DIEP flap reconstruction in both breasts — surgery where skin, fat and blood vessels from the abdomen are removed and used to reconstruct the breasts removed during a mastectomy. (In medical textbooks, the vessels are “deep inferior epigastric perforators,” hence the DIEP acronym.)

Interspersed with updates on the surgery, PRMA’s feed tweeted information on breast cancer, surgery options and other helpful advice. In just over four hours, the surgery had been completed successfully — and shared extensively.

The Top 9 Obligatory Engagement and Wedding Photos Coming Soon to Instagram and Facebook

moving cross country, finding a great partner... or lobbing off all your hair a la Karlie Kloss). But don't fret: It's not an impossible task. It just takes some thought—and great advice.

"A lot of times people don't like what they're doing in their current job, but they haven't defined what they want to be doing in their potential new job," Nicole Williams, career expert and author of Girl On Top, tells Cosmopolitan.com.

She says nabbing your dream job starts with doing some soul-searching: "I ask people to assess components of their current working life, and match them against the career they are looking to get into."

Try asking yourself these questions...

Time: How many hours do you want to work and in what kind of environment? Big company, small, telecommute, work-from-home flexibility (you know, the kind banned at Yahoo!)

Challenge Level: How important is growth potential and being challenged to you? Are you ambitious and ready to lean in, or just looking for a 9 to 5 to fill your time?

Work Environment: Define your best possible scenario in terms of work relationships. Who are you working with and for? What kind of boss would be ideal? Do you have dreams of becoming a boss?

Passion: How important is passion to you? For example, a woman we know races triathlons and feels like she doesn't need to be passionate about her job; her passion is attached to her sport.

6. Money: How much do you need to make? How much money do you want to make?

Steps To Making A Career Change

Stop Delaying

"The longer you are in the job you are thinking of leaving, the further away you are from new opportunity," says Williams. "It doesn't get any easier. Doing it earlier is emotionally, mentally and professionally better."

Be Willing To Sacrifice Something

You may have to start from the bottom (or the middle) and work your way to the top; Either way, be ready to drop a few rungs on the corporate ladder.

"Internships can be a good idea—or be willing to take a pay cut," says Williams. "If this internship, for example, introduces you to influential people and helps develop a skill-set, you'll be able to take these things to leverage them into a bigger position."

Start Saving

"Have a solid idea of the risk and savings in the bank," advises Williams. Even if it means cutting back on luxuries. "If you know the internship is going to last for six months at a minimum, that's the number you need to have in savings, and I normally advise 10 to 20 percent in savings as a risk buffer."

Network

"People love to talk about themselves," says Williams. "Find them on LinkedIn and through people you know, and consult with them."

Williams suggests asking those in similar fields questions like, "I wonder if you'd speak to me about your day-to-day life; What do you love most about the work that you do; What do you wish you would have known going into this career?"

"Those kind of questions are going to give you the information you need and will help you know the people you are going to need to know," she adds.

Now that you are armed with more than just your resume and a fresh manicure, it's time to start hitting the pavement. Happy hunting, gals.

The Top 9 Obligatory Engagement and Wedding Photos Coming Soon to Instagram and Facebook

Spoiler alert! That’s what we'd call the moment your future brother-in-law Facebooks a pic of your fiancĂ© in the process of proposing. Live-posting someone else's engagement is a bold move reserved for the truly splashy, allowing the world to see the exact moment the q was popped, and how everyone else was reacting when he got down on one knee (namely Dad turning white and Grandma catching zzz's at the table). Still, usually yields around 100 "likes!"

What You Can Learn From Prince Harry's Nude Photos

So…you might have heard that royal hottie Prince Harry was in Vegas this weekend. And you probably also heard that his trip to Sin City resulted in a, um, nude photo scandal.

Here's what reportedly went down: Harry and his buddies were partying in a VIP hotel suite with a bunch of girls, when someone got the idea to play strip billiards. The sexy prince was photographed naked a few times—once while he was cupping his junk as a naked girl hugged him from behind, and again from behind as he gave a girl a naked bear-hug.

Naturally, someone at the party snapped pics of the whole thing and leaked them to TMZ. (You can check them out here.)

Frankly, we're not complaining that we got to see pics of Harry in all his hot glory, but it's easy to see how this kind of thing can happen. If you're having a great time at a party and someone suggests some kind of naked activity—skinny-dipping, strip poker, etc.—request that everyone put their phones in a pile to prevent unwanted pics.

You can do it in a jokey way, like, "Sorry-I just don't want anything to leak out that could screw with my future run for Congress." Odds are, everyone else will be relieved you suggested it.

And btw—whoever snapped those naked pics of Harry, that was naughty. (But thank you.)

Look Even Sexier In Photos With Your Guy

When Selena Gomez tweeted out a photo from boyfriend Justin Bieber’s birthday party earlier this week, our first reaction was “Aww.” (Seriously, could this couple get any cuter?) And our second was “Wow. Selena looks…amazing.”

Taking photos with your guy can be tricky—pose the right way like Selena and you’ve got a gorgeous new Facebook profile pic. Do it wrong and you’re left giving a half-assed story about how you “accidentally” deleted it from his phone.

That’s why we consulted award-winning fashion photographer Alexa Miller and celebrity and fashion photographer Eric Ray Davidson for their tips on how to look your hottest in pics with your man. Keep these on the back burner next time you get snap-happy.

Snuggle Up
Pressing your body into your guy (think: tilting your pelvis up against his side) will create a flattering ¾ angle toward the camera. Not only will this make the two of you look super-cozy, it visually slims you out.

Work Your Bod
Arch your back a little and shift your weight to one hip—it looks subtly sexy. Also, keep the mantra, “head down, eyes up” in mind. It’s the prettiest angle for faces.

Follow The Shoulder Rule
Always remember to keep your shoulder that’s facing the camera relaxed. When it tenses, your shoulder and bicep look bigger, and that’s not flattering.

Watch Your Arms
Anything that’s closer to the camera will look bigger, so wrapping your arms around your guy’s shoulders will make your arms appear larger than life. Try to hug him in a way that keeps your arms loose and close to your body. Slinging an arm across the part of his waist that’s closest to you, wrapping your arms around his neck (since it’s smaller, it keeps your arms loose), or hooking your thumb in his belt buckle loop will do the trick.

Avoid The Smush
It looks cute when your faces are close together, but be gentle with how you do it (pressing them together can make you look puffy). For the best shot, tilt your head towards him and turn your eyes toward the camera.

Do a Hand-Check
If he wraps his arms around you, make sure he keeps them casually slung around your shoulders or resting lower on your body—wrapping them around your chest will hide your bod and make it look like he’s crushing you.

Don’t Be Afraid To Guide Him
Guys have no freaking clue what looks good in photos (and, for the most part, they don’t care), so gently coach your guy into the position that looks best for both of you. You can lightly move his hand, grab his butt to angle his body, etc. Not only will you end up with a great pic, it’ll warm him up for some one-on-one action later.
