Fun Fearless Males 2012
Just as Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt are getting a little too old to fulfill our hottie- action-hero fantasies, along comes 35-year- old Sam Worthington, with his soulful eyes and the kind of deep, raspy voice that hits you right in the back of the knees. Our crush kicked in when the Aussie actor played a soldier with a heart of gold in Avatar and gained momentum as he showed off more skin and grit in Clash of the Titans. By the time he portrayed a Nazi-hunting secret agent in The Debt this past August, we were sold on him as our Fun Fearless Male of the Year. This month, we're psyched to see this A-list leading man in the thriller/heist flick Man on a Ledge, and he'll soon be donning that thigh- baring tunic again for Wrath of the Titans. Sam claims he's not like the lovable badasses he plays in movies, but after this convo, we're, uh, pretty sure he is.

My night at the 2011 Fun, Fearless Female Awards!
My week of work experience at Cosmo wasn't exactly the typical week that many young, aspiring female journalists (like myself) get to experience.
On Wednesday night, I was privileged to attend the 2011 Cosmopolitan Fun, Fearless Female Awards which was hosted by loveable Shelley Craft at Catalina Rose Bay. It is the magazine’s annual celebratory event of the year, exposing some of the nation’s most exceptional role models and accomplished female figures. Whether they're a singer, actor, blogger or sportswoman; each nominee harnesses the essence of what it means to be a fun, fearless female.
My personal highlight? It would definitely have to be mingling with some of the nation’s favourite media personalities and celebrities who were more than happy to give me some hilariously entertaining interviews for my celebrity blog. Of course, when you speak to 2DAY FM’s Fifi Box, there are bound to be barrels of laughter; with glamorous Charlotte Dawson you learn a fashion tip or two; and with sassy songstress Jessica Mauboy you become motivated to unleash the inner bootylicious diva within you. This is exactly why these women are fun, fearless females themselves!
Whilst this event celebrated admirable women, don't worry - there was still plenty of male eye candy, with Stan Walker taking to the stage with three hot performances.
Ultimately, the winner of the Woman of the Year award was stellar actress Yvonne Strahovski, but the true victory of the night for us all was embracing the essence of what it means to be a fun, fearless female. Seize every opportunity, live life with confidence, make sure your frown is upside down and then you, my friend, are fun and fearless!

Voting for the 2011 Fun Fearless Female has now closed!
As most of you know, voting for the Fun, Fearless Female Awards has now closed. We’re so proud of all the finalists this year – congratulations to you all!
Some of you may have noticed a glitch on our website this morning that stated you could “see the winners below.” Obviously, we are holding a massive party at which we’ll announce our deserving winners, and this text was meant to go live on July 28, the day after the awards. There will be a gallery with all of the winners (as well as amazing party pics from the night – look out for those!).
Please disregard anything you saw this morning, as we’re still counting the votes (there’s over 300,000!). Best of luck to everyone, and thank you to everybody who voted.
