10 Conclusions You Can Make About People Based on Their Eyebrows

Your eyebrows say more about you than how much you like using your tweezers. According to facial reading expert Jean Haner, they are signifiers of your self-confidence, assertiveness, logic, organizational abilities, motivation, and how you make decisions. Let's use celebrities to decode what your eyebrows say about you.

1. Short Eyebrows

Shorter eyebrows like Britney Spears's, "are typically a sign of someone who doesn't deal with stress very well," says Haner. "These people usually don't like having to deal with their friend's dramas as well."

2. Long Eyebrows

People with long eyebrows, like Eva Mendes, "tend to deal better with stress and typically have a lot of friends that they don't mind listening to and helping out with their problems," Haner explains. "They're also usually really good workers, can take on big jobs, and can also be competitive."

3. Naturally Thin Arches

"Naturally thin or sparse eyebrows" — think Taylor Swift — "symbolize people who tend to doubt themselves, are unsure, and believe what other people tell them," she says. "They tend to be more cautious, so they live life a little more carefully."

4. Naturally Full Brows

"Thick eyebrows" — like Cara Delevingne's — "signify someone who loves to be active," says Haner. "They're naturally confident, they have a good head on their shoulders, and they can figure things out quickly. Sometimes they can get frustrated easily though if others are holding them back from what they want to do, because they are really good at getting things done."

5. Eyebrows With High Arches

"Brows that are placed high above the eye (these are usually very curved, too)" — like Megan Fox's — "tend to mean that this person isn't as approachable — they're more sensitive and tend to hold back a little bit," explains Haner. "They also need more space and sometimes can be perceived as conceited, but it's really that they take more time to warm up to other people. They also tend to be perfectionists and have really good taste."

6. Arches That Are Low

"Eyebrows that are low (aka very close to the eye), like Lilly Collins, typically tell you that that person is approachable and easy going," Haner says. "They also tend to stick by their promises. There is actually a label for these eyebrows: they're called "Coaches Eyebrows," because these people want to stick by your side until you win."

7. Rounded Eyebrows

"Eyebrows that have a rounded curve" — like BeyoncĂ©'s — "usually mean that person is extra kind and thinks about others' needs," says Haner. "They're also tactful in their communications, always want to create a win-win for any situation, and like to be in a relationship — they're not loners."

8. Eyebrows With Little to No Arch

"Eyebrows that go in a straight line" — think Jessica Alba's — "mean these people tend to think logically about decisions," she says. "They're thinkers that value logic — they're usually not super-emotional."

9. Brows That Are Peaked

"Eyebrows that are more peaked" — like Olivia Wilde's — "represent people that like to have fun, think fast, talk fast, make quick decisions, and need stimulation," says Haner. "They're spontaneous, they can also react quickly when it comes to their emotions, and they tend to have a good sense of humor."

10. Eyebrows That Are Thin From Being Over-Plucked

"Since our eyebrows signify our self-confidence, if someone" — say, Pamela Anderson — "overplucks theirs, they can actually reduce their self-confidence and lower their decision-making abilities," explains Haner. "Plucking your brows too thin can also attract people toward you that will walk all over you, because your self-confidence has been lowered."

Emilia Clarke: "Don't Do Drugs, Have Sex, or Touch Your Eyebrows."

That was the advice Emilia Clarke's mom gave her when she was a teen, and heeding to her beauty tip has sure paid off.

The Game of Thrones actress, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, aka Mother of Dragons, in the HBO medieval-fantasy series, is also making her first appearance on broadway as the leading lady (Holly Golightly) in Breakfast at Tiffany's (which opens March 20). And let us tell you, she's a vision of beauty with the bushiest, most beautiful eyebrows we've seen in a while.

We got a chance to talk to the petite star over breakfast to find out just what she thinks about stepping into the stilettos of one of Audrey Hepburn's most famous roles, doing her own makeup for the play, and what she uses to get even more gorgeous (if that's at all possible).

Cosmo: How does it feel to play one of Audrey Hepburn's famous roles?

Emilia Clarke: "Audrey Hepburn is one of my icons, and I love the movie and the novel, which the play is a direct adaptation of, but you can't mimic perfection. People show up expecting to see Audrey from the movie, but it's an entirely different piece based off of the book. But I absolutely love playing Holly, she's sassier in the play than she was in the movie—everything is just sexier, really. And the makeup is just gorgeous; it's inspired by the '40s."

Cosmo: Do you do your own makeup for the show?

EC: "Yes! Shock, horror, gasp [laughs]! The makeup is a much simpler look that it was in the 1960s movie; the muted colors are really gorgeous. But I don't mind doing my own makeup for the show, my mother taught me how to put it on correctly when I was 13, so I feel quite comfortable applying it. It's really just powder, mascara, and a reddish-plum shade on my lips."

Cosmo: It's so cool that Target had their exclusive beauty partners Sonia Kashuk and Umberto working alongside the production’s Academy Award-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood to recreate the timeless Holly Golightly makeup and hair looks. How do they differ from your regular hair and makeup?

EC: "They're very, very glam, but I definitely love the looks they've created for the character. But [as I've mentioned before], they're very simple compared to the 1960s film hair and makeup."

Cosmo: You have the most gorgeous skin and hair. What beauty products do you use in your personal life?

EC: "I have very sensitive skin, so I have to care for it properly. My mother taught me to cleanse, tone, and moisturize twice a day, so I always do that—I could be partying or working late, but I'm never too tired to take care of my skin. I also recently discovered Dr. Perricone's Hypoallergenic range, so I've been using that as well."

"[For makeup] I use tinted moisturizer instead of foundation because I'm constantly wearing thicker makeup for my job. And I love Dolce & Gabbana's line, all of Tom Ford's lipsticks, and I go back and forth between Trish McEvoy's Curling Mascara and Chanel mascara. I also just started going to Bumble & Bumble and they've saved my hair! I use this serum from them and it's fantastic."

Cosmo: Who is your beauty icon?

EC: "My mom. She taught me to take care of my skin by cleansing, toning, and moisturizing; she taught me how to put on makeup—even how they do it on the runways; and introduced me to good beauty products at a young age. LancĂ´me and Vichy was what I used as an adolescent."

Cosmo: You may have the best eyebrows we've ever seen. What is your secret?

EC: "My mom had rules when I was younger: 'Don't do drugs, don't have sex, and don't touch your eyebrows,' she'd say. And I didn't and I'm so grateful for that advice. However, she did teach me to brush them with Vaseline, so I do that, but I don't fill them in or anything."

Cosmo: Last question. You have a very busy schedule between Game of Thrones and rehearsal and shows for Breakfast at Tiffany's. How do you unwind?

EC: "[That's easy,] I simply take an Epsom salt bath to help me relax."

How to Get Gorgeous Eyebrows

According to a recent study, the tattooed eyebrow look is the biggest make-up faux pas women can make. Shocker (not!). It ranked No. 1 on the list of beauty blunders followed by a close second: foundation marks along the jawline. To get the scoop on how to get natural-looking brows, like Kim Kardashian's, we asked Kristie Streicher, eyebrow specialist and owner of Kristie Streicher Beauty Bar in Los Angeles and New York City, for her tricks of the trade.

"Thin brows, whether they're long or stubby, are unflattering on everyone," says Streicher. "Fuller brows, however, frame your face and eyes perfectly and help detract from dark circles and any other imperfections you may be worried about on your face."

To achieve thick, full brows, she suggests going into 'brow rehab' in order to see how much hair actually grows in. During 'brow rehab,' you leave your brows alone for six months, going in for touch-ups every six weeks instead of every two. This allows the hairs to grow in and get on one growth cycle, leaving you with a more uniform-looking eyebrow as a result.

To fake fuller brows in the meantime, Streicher suggests the following steps:

1. Use a fine-tipped brow marker, like Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color, $19.40, amazon.com, that's the same color as your brows. Its precise tip helps create natural-looking hair-like strokes easily.

2. Make the hair-like strokes you just created with the marker even more believeable by lightly tracing over them with a brow powder that's one shade lighter than your eyebrow hair. Try Anastasia Brow Powder Duo, $22, amazon.com. The powder diffuses any harsh lines from the brow marker—plus, the lighter color powder helps make the "hairs" look multi-dimensional. The result? Natural, full brows that aren't too dark (you're trying to avoid looking like Groucho Marx).

Not sure where to start drawing on your brow if you've overtweezed? Hold a pencil vertically (making sure the eraser is in line with your brow) next to the side of your nose—that's where your brows should start. Then, tilt the pencil, keeping the point at corner of your nose, just past your pupil—that's where your arch should be. Finally, line up the pencil from the corner of your nose to the outer corner of your eye and just past that is where your brow should end.

Try out these tips and let us know what you think.
