Your More of An Idiot Then You Think

If you wanna be taken seriously in 2013, you definately need to pay attention to not only what you write, but to also how you write it. Its rediculous how many people are wrecking havoc on our language, on the internet most of all.

A daily occurrance is when I log into twitter and facebook, and I see easily a hundred status updates per day talking about serious issues like abortion and whats going on in Syria for example. For all intensive purposes, not a single one of these posts are any better then what I use to write back in forth grade. Even my friends whom went to "smart colleges." Its like Hello, your on facebook! I can see wear you got your degree from.

You just need to remember: your putting stuff online for the hole entire world. Your suppose to at least look it over, once or twice even.

People use there phones as escape goats, like its not possable to type on a touch screen. Case and point: not using capitol letters at the start of sentences? Thats just embarassing.

I dont no weather these people are idiots or not, but they could of at least proofread there posts before putting them up their. Today's flagrant misuse of words is literally the most annoying thing in history, so we need to ban together and make a comitment to nip it in the butt.

Maybe I'm being to harsh, but having a voice is a privalege. Their are so many countries wear the goverment would just love to take away you and I's rights away.

So treat you're language with respect, and withold the poetic lisence please. Who do you think you are anyway, E. E. Cummings? Actually, dont answer that. I could care less.

Is the Double Bun Back? Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner Seem to Think So

How's this for a Flashback Friday hair moment?!

We HAD to call attention to the fact that both Miley Cyrus and Kylie Jenner are taking a stab at the double-bun style that was originally made famous by Princess Leia, wayyy back in the day, and more recently, Gwen Stefani.

We're all for this half-sweet, half-punk rocker style, but it's not exactly an everyday look. Now for the real question:

Are Long Red Nails a Thing? Vanessa Hudgens and Rihanna Think So

Nail art, step aside. Vanessa and Riri have the next tip trend in line: long, candy-apple red nails.

We got an up close and personal look at Vanessa's nails last night at the American Eagle Rock Your Walk event and they're honestly kind of awesome. They're just a bit longer than what you'd normally wear—but not eagle-talon status. Rihanna also stepped out flaunting longer-than-usual red nails (and her new gray mane) earlier this month.

"The first thought that comes to my mind when I see a long, red nail is sexy [um, hello date night!]," says nail guru Jin Soon Choi. "But this look is versatile because if you want to make it more sophisticated and glamorous, all you do is opt for an almond-shaped tip like Vanessa's. And, if you want an edgy, modern twist, copy Rihanna's square-shaped nails. In either case, just be careful not to go too long because then the nail loses its classy feel."

So why the long red-nail resurgence? "We're moving back to basics, which is why Old Hollywood crimson-colored tips are making a comeback. And with fall coming around the corner, you can count on seeing more of the simple, classic looks [like the above] with a hint of a twist, like the incorporation of matte topcoat, different lengths, and longer oval-, square-, squoval-shaped tips."

Well, you heard it here first: lengthier red-hot nails are back and we're all about it.

7 Sex Moves You Think He Wants —But He
Really Doesn't

moving cross country, finding a great partner... or lobbing off all your hair a la Karlie Kloss). But don't fret: It's not an impossible task. It just takes some thought—and great advice.

"A lot of times people don't like what they're doing in their current job, but they haven't defined what they want to be doing in their potential new job," Nicole Williams, career expert and author of Girl On Top, tells Cosmopolitan.com.

She says nabbing your dream job starts with doing some soul-searching: "I ask people to assess components of their current working life, and match them against the career they are looking to get into."

Try asking yourself these questions...

Time: How many hours do you want to work and in what kind of environment? Big company, small, telecommute, work-from-home flexibility (you know, the kind banned at Yahoo!)

Challenge Level: How important is growth potential and being challenged to you? Are you ambitious and ready to lean in, or just looking for a 9 to 5 to fill your time?

Work Environment: Define your best possible scenario in terms of work relationships. Who are you working with and for? What kind of boss would be ideal? Do you have dreams of becoming a boss?

Passion: How important is passion to you? For example, a woman we know races triathlons and feels like she doesn't need to be passionate about her job; her passion is attached to her sport.

6. Money: How much do you need to make? How much money do you want to make?

Steps To Making A Career Change

Stop Delaying

"The longer you are in the job you are thinking of leaving, the further away you are from new opportunity," says Williams. "It doesn't get any easier. Doing it earlier is emotionally, mentally and professionally better."

Be Willing To Sacrifice Something

You may have to start from the bottom (or the middle) and work your way to the top; Either way, be ready to drop a few rungs on the corporate ladder.

"Internships can be a good idea—or be willing to take a pay cut," says Williams. "If this internship, for example, introduces you to influential people and helps develop a skill-set, you'll be able to take these things to leverage them into a bigger position."

Start Saving

"Have a solid idea of the risk and savings in the bank," advises Williams. Even if it means cutting back on luxuries. "If you know the internship is going to last for six months at a minimum, that's the number you need to have in savings, and I normally advise 10 to 20 percent in savings as a risk buffer."

Network

"People love to talk about themselves," says Williams. "Find them on LinkedIn and through people you know, and consult with them."

Williams suggests asking those in similar fields questions like, "I wonder if you'd speak to me about your day-to-day life; What do you love most about the work that you do; What do you wish you would have known going into this career?"

"Those kind of questions are going to give you the information you need and will help you know the people you are going to need to know," she adds.

Now that you are armed with more than just your resume and a fresh manicure, it's time to start hitting the pavement. Happy hunting, gals.

Is it Wrong to Spike Your Mood With a Purchase?
We Don't Think So.

...and neither does psychologist Adrien Bonior, Ph.D, a licensed clinical psychologist, professor, and writer in the Washington D.C. area.

"There can definitely be a spike in your mood when you find that perfect score, whether it was something on sale, something that you've been searching for for a long time, or if it's something that fits your body and makes you feel good about the way you look," says Bonior.

"But there is one caveat: The increased happiness you feel post-purchase won't be as long-lasting as if you would have bought an experience. When we buy objects, we eventually tire of them over time. But if you purchase an experience—as small as a pedicure or as large as a getaway—that satisfaction lasts longer because it's linked to memories. And with memories, you're going to hold onto them a lot longer; whereas with objects, like the new shirt you bought, you'll eventually forget about them."

A staffer here at Cosmo actually just encountered a similar scenario. Assistant editor Angela Ledgerwood was feeling a little low and edgy at work yesterday because she was trying to wean herself off of caffeine. On her lunch break, she thought she would get outside for some fresh air and that's when she wandered into J. Crew.

"I often like to check out their sale section for bargains, and I find their stores to be relaxing because they are so neat and ordered—the very contrast to how I was feeling inside my head," she told us. "I saw a shirt that I liked, so instead of eating a candy bar for a momentary endorphin spike, I went for the 25 percent off shirt. And while I thought it was crazy to rely on a purchase to make me happy, I definitely did feel better after I bought it because I knew it would make me feel good walking down the street. I even wore it to work today and have been getting a ton of compliments, which has continued to lifted my spirits!"

After reading this post, next time anyone (or Angela) needs a boost, we're pretty sure they'll be choosing an experience over a peplum top.

Do you feel better after making a materialistic purchase, or do you agree with Dr. Bonior regarding experiences?
