Britney Spears Had A "Sh*tty Day," Because Cheaters Are The Worst

A video of Britney's (former) boyfriend David Lucado making out with another woman was briefly "being shopped around" yesterday, TMZ reports. But then Britney's dad Jamie bought it, paying a "substantial amount" to keep anyone from seeing the footage. Well, just about anyone — he did show poor BritBrit, who promptly broke up with Lucado:

She also shot an adorable sadface Instagram video — it's real, unfiltered Britney footage and that's always a treat, even when the subject matter is difficult. A warning to serious Britney fans, she does get a little teary at the end and it's kind hard to handle:

Let's all get together and sing "Stronger." Act out the chair dance too, please <3 <3. In the best case scenario, the break-up (and indeed, every Britney breakup) played out just like the song's sassy music video.

Forever acting as a conservator should, Jamie's representatives explained to TMZ that "he took the action to protect his daughter from David and from the embarrassment of the video going public," even though of course by giving a comment, he's actually only blowing the whole cheating scandal up further.

15 Reasons Back-to-School Shopping With Your Mom Was the Worst

1. She had a shopping list of what she thought you needed and would pull it out at every store.
And when you asked her to buy something not on the list, she would look at you like you just tried to order lobster at McDonald's.

2. She would ask the store manager to turn down the music.
You know, so she could, like, talk to you (aka ruin your life).

3. She acted completely shocked and disturbed by the giant half-naked photos in Abercrombie & Fitch.
And right in front of the hot sales guy!

4. When you would run into someone you knew, she would totally say hello.
Like it was no big deal!

5. She tried to come into the dressing room with you to help you try things on.
Or, just as bad, she pulled back the curtain while you were still getting dressed to "see how you were doing," thus exposing your half-naked body to the entire store.

6. She forced you to try on horrible clothes you wouldn't wear if you were dead.
Was she trying to make you look like stupid? What had you ever done to her?

7. She asked strangers to weigh in on your clothing choices in the dressing room.
As if some other mother's opinion was really going to sway you.

8. She pulled up your shirt to make sure your pants/shorts/skirt fit properly.
And then tugged them like she was trying to give you whiplash.

9. Or she would make you buy clothes that were too big for you so you could "grow into them."
It wasn't your fault you kept growing. Why were you being punished?

10. She would describe something you were trying on as "cool," making you instantly hate it, no matter what it was.
That's not your word, mom! Stop using it! You're ruining it!

11. She talked really loudly about how expensive something was so that, like, everyone could hear her.
As you made a silent promise to yourself never to be so stingy and lame with your own kids.

12. Underwear anything: reminding you that you needed to get some within earshot of other human beings (and certain mannequins); asking a salesperson for help with sizing; even just the act of holding it and buying it in your presence.
God! Was nothing private??!!

13. She checked to make sure everything adhered to your school's dress code.
She had it printed on a piece of paper in her purse and would pull it out while you were shopping or, worse yet, when you were at the register. All those people behind you. You could feel their eyes drilling holes into the back of your head.

14. She refused to buy things that she thought were too sexy or revealing or baggy or whatever, even though they were totally cool and everyone else had them.
"Over my dead body!"
"Is that an option?" (is what you wanted to say).

15. She was just so there.
Standing. Talking. Breathing. Just right there next to you. Out in the open where everyone could see her. Like it was no big deal. The nerve!

The 20 Worst Songs To Have Sex To

1. "Down By The River,” Neil Young

Neil Young is undoubtedly one of the finest singer/songwriters of our time, but his wailing ballads about, say, the student-protest tragedy at Kent State or the changing political mores of the 1970s, aren’t fit for the bedroom. This one’s mournful chorus goes: “Down by the river, I shot my baby.” I got horny just typing that.

2. “All Summer Long,” Kid Rock

In the chorus of this atrocity of a song (let’s call it a song the way you’d call Paris Hilton an actress), which basically commits a felony by sampling “Sweet Home Alabama,” Kid Rock literally rhymes “things” with “things.” That, and picturing Kid Rock’s face hovering over you mid-coitus, will have you dryer than Pocahontas’ Grandmother Willow.

3. “One Hand In My Pocket,” Alanis Morrisette

One thing we learn from this song is that Alanis is a multitasker. Another thing we learn is that we’ll end up using our hands on ourselves most of the time if we put this song on during sex.

4. “What a Wonderful World,” Louis Armstrong

You’re not allowed to fuck to any song used for ironic emphasis in a Michael Moore documentary. It’s a law. That I invented. See also the sad Hawaiian ukulele version of this where the guy goes "OOoooooooOOOOOo," which I always associate with the onscreen death of that nice doctor on E.R. Anyone else? No? Well, don't do it anyway.

5. “Stan,” Eminem (ft. Dido)

As seen in #1, songs that feature the murder of a fictional woman are kind of counter-intuitive to getting it on. By the time Eminem-as-Stan informs us that he’s got his pregnant girlfriend locked in the trunk of his car, you will both have put your clothes back on. In fact, probably more clothes than you started with. Like seven layers of additional clothing.

6. “Chop Suey,” System of a Down

About to Make Love to a Gentleman? Put on the spastic late-'90s borderline-metal song that the Goth kids at your high school used to set as their Myspace default music. That’ll go great. Angels deserve to DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE.

7. “Let The Bodies Hit The Floor,” Drowning Pool

I don’t think I need to tell you why this is inappropriate.

8. “Closer To Fine,” Indigo Girls

Anything that might have played at 1998 Lilith Fair should be as far away from your Penetration 2014 playlist as possible. Crunchy all-female bands who sing lyrics like, "I went to the doctor, I went to the mountains, I looked to the children, I drank from the fountains," might mean something to you, but the minute this heavy-flow period of a song begins ("I’m tryin' to tell you something 'bout my liiiife"), trust me, you will both be wincing.

9. “Time To Say Goodbye (Con Te Partiro)” Josh Groban

Or any other sweeping Italian song, or anything else by your mom’s boyfriend Josh Groban. Anything operatic and grandiose is comically over-the-top for a regular old banging session. I don’t care how good the sex is, you don’t need a song that would be right at home on the Titanic soundtrack to score someone's penis going in and out of your vagina.

10. “Photograph,” Nickelback
Who was responsible for this?! You? Him? Joey, as in “What the heck is that on Joey’s head?” Get out of here, Joey. Nobody invited you to this sex.

11. “Danke Schoen,” Wayne Newton

Better known as the song that Ferris Bueller lip-synchs to on the float in downtown Chicago, Wayne Newton’s oddly high voice and the swingy, easy-listening beat — while classy — is incredibly awkward to have sex to.

12. “Scenes From An Italian Restaurant,” Billy Joel

Maybe you’ve heard this song in your dad’s car and been like, “Good song!” Not for this. The saga of baby boomers Brenda and Eddie, with their tacky Sears paintings and failed marriage, is not sexy. Billy Joel is a talented musician and lyricist, but his music just isn’t sexy. You try staying wet while Billy Joel sings about the Parkway Diner.

13. “Apache,” Sugar Hill Gang

Otherwise known as the song Carlton Banks iconically cuts a rug to in Fresh Prince. If he actually gets harder while this ridiculous song is playing, he’s probably got a severed human foot in his freezer.

14. “Flight of The Bumblebee.”

Good for cleaning your room or going for a jog or having an anxiety attack outside Kinko’s. Bad for doing it.

15. “The Sounds of Silence,” Simon and Garfunkel

So he enters you, and is like, “Is this okay?” and you’re like, “No yeah, it’s fine,” and then from your iPod dock, Simon (or Garfunkel) moans Hello, darkness, my old friend. Oh, hi. Can we skip this song please?

16. “Hip To Be Square,” Huey Lewis and the News

If you’ve ever seen American Psycho you know why this is on here. NOW IF YOU’LL EXCUSE ME I HAVE TO GO RETURN SOME VIDEOTAPES.

17. “Mambo Number 5,” Lou Bega

When I said Billy Joel was the most unsexy musician alive, I actually meant he was one of the two most unsexy musicians alive. For those of you unaware, Lou Bega has a pencil moustache, an assembly of fedoras in primary colors, and his lips are always mysteriously very gleaming and wet in photographs. In addition to being a horrible song in general, it’s about twelve times worse if you have one of the names in the chorus: Monica, Erica, Rita, Tina, Sandra, Mary, Jessica, or Carl. (Just kidding about Carl.)

18. “What’s New, Pussycat,” Tom Jones
So cheesy, with a weird rhythm. Any sex will come to a screeching halt.

19. “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer,” the Beatles

Again, it's about woman-murder, and especially tricky because it's on Abbey Road. One second you're banging to "Hey Jude," the next second this jaunty ballad of a med student with a fetish for hitting his girlfriends over the head with toolbox accoutrement comes on and everyone loses their orgasm. The Beatles' bad LSD trip with the Maharishi continues to punish us all. Is there any song that can leave you drier? Yes there is:

20. “You’ve Got a Friend In Me,” Randy Newman

Randy Newman makes you wish your vagina had a ziplock, like the Baggies of baby carrots your mom put in your lunchbox as a youngster. This was heartwarming and delightful over the credits of Toy Story, but for the love of God, keep Randy Newman out of the bedroom. Even if you're Randy Newman's wife. Especially if you're Randy Newman's wife.

11 Reasons Guys on OkCupid Are the Worst

I've never really believed in online dating. I know it works for other people, but I'm an old-fashioned gal who likes to meet guys in more traditional ways: you know, in a dark bar with a glass of gin in my hand. After one too many trolls at said bars, I decided to give in and give online dating a whirl. This summer, I attended the wedding of a couple that started with an OkCupid date; surely that meant that men who were taking the time to sign up and fill out a profile would be normal and looking for a girlfriend?

It turns out that my main trait that attracts trolls in bars (being a woman who is alive) attracts just as many trolls online. The level of awfulness in many of the messages I get is truly astounding, and I'm not just talking about all the men out there who dislike reading (for example, my profile makes it clear I love college basketball and not the NBA, so naturally I've gotten at least half a dozen messages asking what my favorite NBA team is).

Behold, the worst — and most hilarious — OkCupid messages I've ever received:

1. "You look beautiful like jewelry in a jewelry store."

2. The second message I ever got (the first was from the founder welcoming me). [Message cut off to protect personal information.]

Yes, my mom will be thrilled. But at least he typed words?

3. For some reason, this one hasn't gotten into "wut" yet.

Not living in 1998.

4. What happens when you click on someone's profile and don't message him:

5. What happens when you've been mentally divorced:

6. Don't worry, this isn't the only divorce notice I've gotten on OkCupid.

7. They also come in a more sexist flavor.

8. Does this mean OkCupid lists me as "more desiring of sex?"

No, and bye.

9. "Give me all you got and more... ha ha ha!"

Ha ha ha.

10. What happens when you don't respond to someone's messages (and have the word bagel in your username).

11. The message you will get from every single Israeli, even though you live in New York.

Adios ;)

Is Twitter The Worst Way Ever to Discover Your Getting a Divorce? Ask Porsha Williams

Talk about a case of social media being your worst enemy.

Newest cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Porsha Williams admitted to Bravo's Andy Cohen that rumors that she found out in the press that her hubby, former pro football stud Kordell Stewart, had filed for divorce were true—sort of.

Williams, who is bubbly and beautiful and nine years Stewart's junior, told Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that she found the news on Twitter, tweeted from multiple media outlets, including TMZ who broke the news, after a phone call from her sister telling her to scour the social media hub.

"I thought,'This is just a crazy joke!' Porsha told Cohen, who is basically like the Housewives Messiah. But Williams soon found out her husband of less than two years had indeed filed for a divorce. "I asked my husband... had he filed, and just a long story short, I felt very disappointed and let down."

No duh. Who wouldn't if their hubby filed for divorce and they found out in 140 characters or less? It's like being broken up with via telephone in 5th grade but way, way worse.

I bet Taylor Swift is kind-of-sort-of envious because this would make for really good song fodder and it beats the time Joe Jonas dumped her via a 27-second phone call and she told everyone about it.

Really, though, this is slightly frightening. It's one thing to get your daily horoscope on Twitter, and even use it as your primary news source. But when you are finding out about your own divorce on the thing, it takes it to a whole new level. Let's hope this is something reserved strictly for celebrities (and perhaps, reality stars). It's bad enough when I have to see announcements of ex-boyfriends getting engaged on my feed.

Then again, that's what the block feature is for.

The 6 Worst Things You Can Say to a Guy

Mad Men star Christina Hendricks recently confessed that she committed a massive faux pas when she first started dating her now-husband. Two weeks after they got together, Christina told him, “You make me want to start a family.” Ack! Luckily, her family planning didn’t freak out her guy, but most dudes would run screaming if you made a comment like that so early on in the relationship.

You pretty much know when you're being blatantly rude, mean, or crazy around your guy. It's those moments when you have a brain fart, like Christina, or when you use seemingly innocent but actually harmful lines that you can cause the worst injury to your relationship. "He may not consciously realize how much they bother him, but they can cause a guy to shut down,” says Diana Kirschner, PhD, author of Love in 90 Days.

To avoid unwittingly triggering that kind of reaction, we compiled the six shadow phrases that can upset a guy. We suggest you eliminate them from your vocabulary...like, now.

1. "You're so much better than all the other jerks I've dated."

Absolutely, it seems like you're paying him a nice compliment. But when a guy hears this, alarms start going off. "It sounds like something a girl who's had terrible luck in relationships would say," explains professional matchmaker Rachel Greenwald, author of Why He Didn't Call You Back. And since guys tend to be pretty rational, he'll figure out that the one constant in all those awful relationships was you...so you must be the problem.

That's not all. He'll also assume that since you think everyone you've ever dated is a jerk, you will eventually think he's a jerk too, which provides very little motivation to try to build on your bond.

How do you let him know you value your relationship above all others? Simple. "Don't mention your exes," Greenwald says. "Most men don't want to be reminded of the other men in your life, even — or especially — if they were all jerks." Instead, keep the focus on the present relationship by saying something like "I've never met anyone like you before. I'm having such a wonderful time." That way, you come off as empowered.

2. "Can you really afford that?''

If he's blowing money he doesn't have on cutting-edge electronics, an expensive car, or pricey gifts for you — well, a couple of those are okay — it would seem only natural that you should point out the error of his ways. But most guys tie up a huge part of their self-worth in their finances, so criticizing his money-handling abilities is, to him, the same as calling him a loser. Furthermore, it'll make him associate you with the least sexy, least desirable woman in his life: Mom. "When you communicate a maternal 'I know what's best for you' attitude for long enough, he may even start treating you like his mother," says Jan Hoistad, PhD, author of Romance Rehab.

He could react by morphing into a clueless man-child (think of pretty much any dude at the beginning of pretty much any Judd Apatow movie and you'll get the idea). And if that happens, you'll find yourself trapped in a vicious cycle in which you annoy each other endlessly: He'll act out, which will make you nag, which will make him act out, which will make you nag some more, etc.

So if you're engaged, married, or involved in a large joint purchase, pick a neutral time to discuss money with him — in other words, not when you're seething about the five new video games you just spotted on a credit-card statement. Then sit down together, and make a budget with the help of a Website like mint.com.

If, however, you're just dating, what he spends on himself is generally none of your business. Unless, of course, he then proceeds to mooch off you, in which case, you need to question why the hell you're with him in the first place.

3. "So we're running a little late. Relax."

It's almost never good to keep people waiting, but as far as he's concerned, that's not the point. The real issue is that it sounds like you don't care about a pet peeve of his. "It's as if you're telling him he doesn't have a right to be annoyed, which makes him feel like you're rejecting or ignoring his feelings," Greenwald says. What's more, by implying he's the one with the problem, you're triggering an argument. How did you react the last time you were upset and he brushed it off by telling you to chill out?

A better way to handle his pet peeves — whether it's tardiness, slovenliness, or driving too slowly in the left lane — is to make sure that he knows you heard what he's saying. Tell him, "I'm sorry — I know this is important to you. I'll try to be more aware of it next time." Not only will it disarm him enough to avoid a fight, but it'll also reassure him that his feelings are important to you, making him far less likely to feel defensive or hold a grudge.
