How to Score an Award-Winning Blowout Like Kim Sears's (Who Knows, You May Just Land Yourself a Pro Tennis BF)

If you caught Wimbledon at all this weekend, then we're pretty sure you suffered from major hair envy when you spotted Kim Sears, eventual champion Andy Murray's gorgeous girlfriend, in the stands.

While Murray was busy getting a serious sports monkey off his back, Sears was cheering him on—and winning best blowout. Ever.

Even with temperatures hitting abnormal heights for London at yesterday's finals match, Sears' picture-perfect hair stayed flawless and frizz-free throughout the entire game and well into the night, where she appeared to sport the same blowout while celebrating Murray's iconic win at the Wimbledon Championships 2013 Winners Ball (shown left).

We love that she didn't change up her mane for the evening event, but now we're dying to know how she got her blowout to A. look like that and B. last that long. So, we called up Olivia Halpin, senior stylist and educator at DreamDry in NYC, a salon that specializes in blowouts only, to give us the deets on scoring an award-winning blow dry that actually lasts.

"The key to a blowout like Kim's is all about the prep and the finish," she says. "You'll want to first use a volumizing spray on towel-dried hair at the root for added volume, and then a serum, like Oribe Gel Serum [$58, oribe.com], from the midshaft of your hair down to the ends to keep frizz from happening. This particular serum also offers hold, so your hair will stay how you styled it."

Next, Halpin suggests rough-drying your hair using a blow dryer only while your head is upside down. "You want to make sure you get all of the moisture out of your hair, because if it's the least bit damp when you go outside, it could frizz up and the style could fall quickly." If you have really thick hair, "blow dry the top half of your hair and loosely swirl and stack it on the top of your head, securing it with a bobby pin, while you blow dry the bottom half. Letting it set in this position while your hair is still hot will help the volume lock in and stay longer."

"After your hair is completely dry, use a medium-size ceramic round brush to smooth your hair from midshaft to ends. Then, to get Sears's slight face-framing curls, grab a one and a half inch barrel curling iron and create loose bends around your face, turning the rod away from you as you twist it."

Okay, you're almost done. Lastly, Halpin always finishes with a medium-hold hairspray [try John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Day Hold Hairspray, $6, target.com], and if it's really hot outside, after coating the hair with hair spray, she use Oribe ImpermĂ©able Anti-Humidity Spray, $39, oribe.com, whichs acts like a humidity-fighting topcoat, so you hair has that bombshell look longer.

VoilĂ !

Are you dying for "The Sears" blowout? And will you be using these tips on your next date night?

How to Score a Not-So-Gel Mani

Meet the Beauty Bloggers

Carly Cardellino: I'm the beauty and fashion editor here at Cosmopolitan.com. I'll try just about anything once (I have the crop cut—my hair used to be super-long—and body wave to prove it) and then report back. I'm obsessed with hair products, like volumizers and salt sprays, as well as mascara, nail polish, a good foundation (right now I'm using Tom Ford Beauty Traceless Foundation SPF 15), and blush (it literally changes the way you look in seconds)—hopefully you can see why I'm in this business. I also love picking out head-to-toe outfits for friends whether they're going on a date with their guy or a black-tie wedding—so feel free to click on that "contact" link below and send me a question.

Leah Wyar: Ladies, I’m the DIY beauty guru. My specialties? Spray-tanning and mastering the at-home manicure. I’ve tried dozens of spray-tanning formulas and have mastered the art of the self-tan (don’t worry, I’ll share!). Plus, I paint on the hottest nail trends every week (currently I’m obsessed with the glitter and dark polish trend). Follow me as I branch out and perfect my DIY skills (up next: waxing!).

Marta Topran: I’m obsessed with making my skin as glowy as possible. That means trying out every anti-aging potion out there and never leaving the house without some sort of shimmery highlighter on my cheekbones. I’m also the resident brow and lash addict. Right now, I’m rocking super long lash extensions that I can’t believe I ever lived without.

How to Score Sexy Lashes—Sans Scary Extensions

We're a bunch of eyelash junkies over here at Cosmo—but as we recently reported, the American Academy of Ophthalmology has officially cautioned against the dangers of lash extensions and their glue, saying the addictive procedure can cause infections and swelling of the cornea and/or eyelid.

So, now is probably a good time to give you some alternative options to lenghtening your lashes that don't involve extensions and the risk of looking like Quasimoto.

These formulas penetrate at the root of your lash line and stimulate the keratin (the protein that are lashes are made of) to lengthen, thicken, and fortify them.

Here are some over-the-counter serums you can swipe on to still score a fringe worth batting at the boys:

- Urban Decay Lush Lash System, $42, sephora.com. This double-ended product allows you to apply the lash-growth serum onto your lash line with a skinny brush on one end, and then lets you distribute a lash conditioner directly onto your actual fringe with a mascara-like brush found on the opposite end. Expect to see results with daily usage in four to six weeks.

- Revitalash Advanced Eyelash Conditioner, $70, drugstore.com. With one quick swipe, once daily, you'll see longer, thicker lashes in about six weeks.

- SmartLash Eyelash Enhancer, $30, dermstore.com. Trace your lash line with this lash growth serum daily and you'll see results fast. We're talking increased fullness and thickness in 30 days, and optimal results in 60.

Will you be trading in trips to your lash extension guru for a safer option?

Exclusive: How to Score Jennifer Lawrence's Oscar 'Do

Jennifer Lawrence looks absolutely drop dead gorgeous in her Dior Haute Couture gown at the 2013 Oscar Awards. But what we loved the most was her amazing updo that stylist Mark Townsend created for her tonight.

He described the mane masterpiece he constructed for her as "young and playful." "She is a dream to work with and is so unbelievably fun and inspiring," he added.

To score her Oscars hairstyle, follow Townsend's lead:

First, apply a few drops of Dove Hair Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Anti-Frizz Serum, $7, drugstore.com, to damp hair and comb it through. This serum is loaded with natural almond and coconut oils to give the hair extra moisture and shine.

Next, add a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse, $5, drugstore.com, to your hair and blow it dry with a large round brush.

Then, to give your hair texture and shine, put a nickel-size amount of Dove Style+Care Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum, $5, drugstore.com, in your hands and then rake it through your hair. Take random pieces from each side and loosely twist them and pin them together at the back of your head using eight bobby pins in a criss-cross formation.

Lastly, take the remaining hair and gather it into a loose, playful bun and finish with Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray, $5, drugstore.com.

So, will you be stealing J. Law's look for your next night out?

Score Red Carpet Looks For Less

Red carpet dresses aren’t often attainable to the public—partly because they’re either one-of-a-kind or just way too expensive—until now.

Recently Amanda Seyfried, Michelle Williams, Viola Davis, and Kristin Davis strutted their stuff wearing looks by H&M. Yep, for real. We did a little digging and found out that as a part of its Conscious initiative, H&M is actually rolling out an exclusive collection of red-carpet looks that will be made out of sustainable materials, like organic cotton, satin, and hemp, and include Amanda’s blue tuxedo and Michelle’s black and white column combo. Cool, right?!

We love that these A-listers took a time-out from wearing haute couture gowns, but what we love even more is that we can get our hands on these particular styles, too. (Amanda's jacket will be $59.95 and the matching shorts will cost $24.95; Michelle's "black and white dress" is actually two separate pieces: the top will run $29.95, and her skirt will be priced at $29.95.)

Look out for this line that will be hitting around 100 H&M’s stores nationwide with select styles online at hm.com on April 12th.
