10 Ways to Get Through a Breakup — According to Icona Pop

Icona Pop is the genius girl duo behind "I Don't Care" — the song of summer — which is all about that moment when you realize you deserve better from a relationship and are like fuck it, I don't care (...I love it!) And you know how the rest goes. Here is band members Caroline Hjelt (left) and Aino Jawo's 10-step guide to getting through a breakup.

1. Don't suppress your feelings.

Aino: "You have to first feel, because it's as if someone has died in your life. There isn't a shortcut. I still can go back to that time when I had my first breakup. I actually called my ex-boyfriend that I dumped three years earlier and apologized for making him go through so much pain that I was then experiencing at that time. And he said, 'Oh! This feels so good, to actually take the time to [talk], because I was so sad. I'm sorry you're feeling that same way right now.' It was actually a really therapeutic to do that, so I suggest it now to everyone."

2. Allow yourself to mourn the relationship.

Aino: "You shouldn't be sad for too long — I would say a week — but you do need to give yourself some time to be upset. The first three days you're in shock (at least, that's how I get) and then you say, 'Oh my God, this is really happening, and I'm actually single.' Which is a weird word to say outloud."

3. Don't post your new "single" status on social media.

Aino: "Both me and Caroline don't talk about our love lives publicly, and we don't think you should involve the whole world in yours either. But it is important to tell your friends what's going on. I remember when I broke up with my boyfriend and I changed my status to single, and all of these people that I kind of knew were asking me, 'What happened?' 'Are you okay?' And I was thinking, why don't you just call me? That's so impersonal, to write that on my status."

4. Reach out and touch someone.

Just kidding, don't really do that. But Aino said: "You shouldn't be scared to reach out to your friends and ask for help to get through this tough time. Heartbreak actually hurts physically, and it's going to take time to get over that person, so having a support system is important."

5. Drink.

Aino: "During any breakup, we drink a lot of wine. I can't really stand red, even though I wish I could, so I drink white instead. I like something not too sweet, but I also like beer, so that works as well."

6. Ban watching sad movies (at least for a little while).

Aino: "We'd rather watch funny movies and save the sad ones for when you've moved on. You need to get your brain focused off of the sad stuff, so funny movies are better." (Caroline recommends Juno, Little Miss Sunshine, and Napoleon Dynamite.)

7. Get a life/focus on yourself.

Aino: "Ask yourself, what do I need right now to make myself feel happy? And then do those things."

8. Talk about him behind his back.

Aino: "It's good to talk about the relationships with your friends, but you also have to remember all of the bad things that the person did. Obviously there was something wrong with the relationship, and talking it out with your friends can sometimes help you realize what that was and that the relationship actually wasn't that good."

9. Realize that everything happens for a reason and focus on the positive.

Aino: "I met Caroline because I was heartbroken and I followed a friend to a party and was introduced to her. And now I'm really happy that I got dumped! See, good things can come from a breakup." Like a whole new career built around a song that gets everyone to sing about crashing into a bridge.

10. Look for other people. (And wear a hot dress. You know, cutouts, sheer paneling, etc.)

Aino: "The hardest part is actually noticing that there are other gorgeous, awesome people to be with, because in the beginning you're not interested in actually seeing your options. So just go out there, put on the sexiest, nicest clothes that you feel gorgeous in, and be yourself. Just don't focus on finding someone new and being with one person, though. You should meet a lot of new people and then from there choose. You need to remember that everyone goes through heartbreaks, which should make you feel less like you're not a UFO."

Caroline: "Keep reminding yourself that you will experience love again."

And of course, when you're going through a breakup, I highly recommend not crashing your car into a bridge, watching, and letting it burn. However, I do condone throwing his shit into a bag and pushing it down the stairs.

Happy man hunting!

In Defense of Gwyneth Paltrow, the Most Hated Celebrity According to Star

It was the strangest coincidence: Two days ago I re-subscribed to Gwyneth Paltrow’s ridiculous but simultaneously amusing/endearing goop after realizing the weekly editions were trapped in my old Yahoo account. I was tempted to make fun of myself on Twitter and then didn’t… because I actually have a soft spot for Gwynnie.

No less than 24 hours later, I read the news that Miss Paltrow landed herself at the top of Star’s Most Hated Celebrities poll, beating out Chris Brown, John Mayer, and yes, even Anne Hathaway.

Forget the fact that she keeps her kids on a carb-free diet. Here are five reasons I love Apple's mom, in no particular order:

1. She has a fantastic, sophisticated sense of style. From long black gowns to sophisticated pantsuit, I'd do a wardrobe swap with her any time.

2. She's nice to look at. What can I say? I'm a sucker for high cheekbones and sleek blonde hair.

3. She's no Adele, but the Academy Award-winning actress has decent pipes. I admit, I listened to the Country Strong theme song more than a few times.

4. Three words: Shakespeare in Love. Emma, Sliding Doors, The Talented Mr. Ripley and The Royal Tenenbaums all produced great performances. But there are few sexier—and more romantic—movie scenes than the first steamy sex scene in Shakespeare in Love when Joseph Fiennes (what happened to that hottie??) unravels Gwynnie from her “bondage.”

5. Her BFF is Beyonce. Need I say more?
