Janice "Lokelani" Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele can finally fit her full name on her driver's license. (Her name is 35 letters plus an okina.)
After a series of ID-related nuisances, including a police officer hassling her during a traffic stop, Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele has spurred an increase of characters from 26 to 40 for last names.
Now, she simply needs to make sure that her daughter doesn't marry a New England Patriots tight end, because a hyphenated last name of Keihanaikukauakahihuliheekahaunaele-Hoomanawanui definitely wouldn't fit, even with the new guidelines.
