Hair How-To: Party-Perfect Glam Roll

Need a sexy style that'll take you from day to night? Well, you're in luck, because this rolled look is the perfect one.

Matt Fugate, a stylist at the Sally Hershberger Downtown Salon, shows us how it's done.

1. Part your hair in line with the arch in your left eyebrow, then curl it. You can use the tip of your pinky finger to achieve a straight part. After your hair is parted, take a large-barrel curling iron and create a slight bend in your hair from the midshaft down.

2. Section off and hold the hair to the right of your part.  

3. Wrap your hair around the stem of a rattail comb. "Holding the section of hair in your right hand and anchoring the handle of a rattail comb against your head (in line with the arch in your right brow), wrap your hair over, under, and then over again until you reach the end of the comb's stem," Fugate says. 

4. Hold the comb in place and reach for a bobby pin. Insert three regular bobby pins alongside the handle of the comb to secure it before sliding the handle out of the rolled style.

5. Secure the roll. "Push several more bobby pins into the roll to secure it in place," he says.

6. Pull the roll even tighter and lock it into place . "With one U-shaped bobby pin, insert it in toward the back of the roll diagonally to the right, and then angle it slightly to the left and proceed to tuck it to the left to pull the roll even tighter," Fugate says.
