7 Birth Control Questions They Didn't Cover in Sex Ed

CAN I SKIP MY PERIOD BY NEVER TAKING PLACEBOS?

Yes. It's totally fine to skip the inactive pills.

CAN I GET PREGNANT FROM ANAL SEX? ORAL SEX?

The odds aren't zero. Semen has to get inside your vagina—tough to do via the anus and mouth—but fingers and hands could move semen there.

IF I FORGET MY PILL, CAN I GET ONE FROM A FRIEND?

Not a good idea. Each brand has a unique for mula. Even pills in the same pack age can be different!

WILL ANTIBIOTICS SCREW WITH MY PILLS?

No, unless it's Rifampin or Rifabutin, used to treat tuberculosis. But some Rx meds decrease the Pill's effectiveness, as will St. John's wort. Ask your doc if you need a backup method.

WHAT ABOUT MOLLY? POT?

Recreational drugs don't affect hormonal birth control…if you remember to use it.

IS IT TRUE AN IUD OR THE RING CAN FALL OUT?

Rarely, an IUD slips out of the uterus (since you asked, it's most often during a BM), and a doctor must reinsert it. Ditto for the ring. But you can just rinse it off with warm water and reinsert it immediately.

I DRANK TOO MUCH AND THREW UP LAST NIGHT.…WILL MY PILL STILL WORK?

If you vomited within three hours of taking your pill, count it as missed. Take another active pill—and if you're on a progestin-only pill, also use condoms for 48 hours.

Got a question we missed? To use Planned Parenthood’s text program, text “COSMO” to 774636 (PPINFO) and then ask any urgent sex-related question (i.e., “Can I take a morning-after pill even though the condom broke two days ago?”). A health educator will write back—in under a minute when they're open (visit plannedparenthood.org/chat to check times).

10 Crazy Sex Questions From Reddit: Answered!

1. Reddit user casualiama confesses: "I had sex with some uncooked pizza dough." He adds: "In short, it was one of the best things in my life." This American Pie-esque reveal raises the question: What do you do if your guy likes having sex with carbs or other foodstuffs?

Well...if your guy enjoys boinking pizza dough, be sure that he uses a condom, Dr. Allison says: "Not because he risks getting the pizza pregnant, but because you don't want to get a yeast infection from the yeast in the dough when you and he cook up some of your own fun." But to put this in perspective, she notes: "Some people enjoy getting it on with inanimate objects...a vibrator or a dildo is an inanimate object, right?" BUSTED!

2. Reddit's regretfulbadger is carrying around a steamy sexual secret: "I want my girl to pound my ass!" He spills: "I have a massive ass fetish. I love grabbing, biting, slapping, rimming, and f*cking her ass. I want to have my girl do me in the butt. I once came for her just thrusting a butt plug into my bum. How do we go about fulfilling my fantasy? I found this toy called the Feeldoe which is essentially a strapless strap-on-like dildo. Should we use this?"

"Not that everyone has to be into everything, but it's refreshing to hear from a man who isn't all about 'one way' butt play," Dr. Allison notes. "What you're describing is a term Dan Savage's followers helped name, which is called pegging" (translation: "when a woman penetrates a man's anus with a strap-on dildo"). She recommends buying and watching Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide To Pegging, which she calls both super-hot and super informative.

3. "I have a fart fetish," Dascalio told Reddit's sex-chat channel. He wonders: "What should I do? Should I embrace it? Would a girl think it's weird if a guy asked her to fart on his penis?"

Dascalio, you're not alone! A recent study examined the case of "Brad," a guy with a passionate case of eproctophilia. Yes, he gets off on women who pass gas. Balk all you want, but Dr. Allison says: "Embracing what turns you on is usually a good thing for self-esteem as long as it's safe, sane and consensual." But will a girl think it's weird...uh, can't hurt to ask?  "If it's something you really enjoy having done to you, there are probably other people out there who enjoy doing it, too," Dr. Allison points out. But if a partner says they're not into it, drop it right away.

4. "You better sit down for this," Reddit's SillyRocket wrote: "My wife has a poop fetish and has orgasms while pooping." We can't help but ponder: How safe is bringing poop into the bedroom?

"Feces and vaginas are always a bad idea—not because getting turned on by feces is bad, but because bacteria in feces isn't vagina-friendly and can lead to infections," Dr. Allison says. She suggests using gloves—and lots of plastic wrap—to keep feces from coming into contact with skin and genitals.

5. "How much is too much come?" asked Reddit user 2crazy. "I come a lot after sex (like two shots worth). Is this normal? What is the average about of semen a guy ejaculates after he has an orgasm?"

Everyone is different. "Some men ejaculate more than others, and ejaculations can vary from orgasm to orgasm. As long as you're not in pain and the sex you're having is consensual, rock it out and enjoy," Dr. Allison says. And if your guy comes a lot, just keep a towel nearby.

6. Ah, the plague of adolescents males everywhere: "Just by making contact with a girl, i get an erection," HwKer lamented. "Help!?"

Indeed most men have experienced getting a boner when they weren't trying to get one. To cope, Dr. Allison suggests two options: Explore breathing and visualization techniques to see if you can develop the ability to quiet the arousal with your mind, or embrace the erection so as not to shame your body. (Ladies on the dancefloor, beware.)

7. "I had sex with my wife while I was asleep," spilled Reddit's M_C_K: "I kind of came to to find my wife on top of me, riding me. I then drifted in and out of the dream for quite a while, but the whole time I continued to have (rough) sex with her."

Welp, sweet dreams indeed! Sex while sleeping is called "sexsomnia." According to studies, it mostly affects men and happens during sleep where the cortex — the thinking, planning, awareness part of the brain — gets switched off, but the brain stem, the part responsible for the basic urges like the drive to eat or have sex, is still working. Depending on the person, sexsomnia can be exciting and interesting, but in some cases, it may be destructive and abusive. If things feel like the latter, seek help from a therapist.

8. What if two people just don't fit together during sex? Reddit user 6168675309 says he's "6'3", 215 lbs, she's 5'3" 105 lbs...Being with this girl, all of the angles seem wrong. I just couldn't quite get a hold on where to put my hands and feet. It seems to be mostly the missionary position that is causing me trouble. Any advice?"

There are a lot of creative ways to make up for a difference in stature! Try straddling him while he's sitting or laying down. If you don’t always want to be on top, spooning is another great height-equalizer. Lie on your side in a semi-fetal position, and have your boyfriend lie behind you in the same configuration.

9. Is there really such thing as tantric sex? "So I keep hearing stories of sweaty, mind blowing sessions lasting for hours, and I want to know HOW!" exclaims Reddit user throwawaysexycunt. "Is it just pounding the whole time, or do you take breaks? Do you guys come several times, or do you just delay it waiting for the right moment to finish it off? What about foreplay, and what can I do as the girl to make the sex last longer?"

Great news: hours-long sex is totally possible! But: it depends on what your definition of "sex" is. "Communicate about what you want from each other and then do it really, really slowly," Dr. Allison advises. "If you want to really experiment, explore tantra and Taoist sexual practices, which include various approaches to prolonging orgasm and ejaculation in men so that they can last longer. Or, just draw out the foreplay before you two start really going at it.

10. Reddit's just1question12 wants to know: Is "the way a girl's vagina looks a direct indication of how much sex she has had?" In his experience, "some vaginas look like they have never been touched and others look like they have seen a few penises in their day." (He adds a polite disclaimer: "Sorry if this is too inappropriate to ask or if I am an asshole for asking.")

Actually, the notion of a "stretched-out vagina" is a myth. "You can't tell how much sex anyone—man or woman—has had from what their genitals look like," Dr. Allison says. "We all have preferences on what we like things to look like, but profiling someone's sexual experience from how their genitals look is just a bad idea."

Come Again? The Dirty Questions You Should Start Asking In Bed

Your sex is all fine and good, but it's lacking a little dirty talk? Adding some sexy questions to steam up your relationship may just be the trick you need.

"Asking the right questions to your partner is an easy way to not only enhance intimacy in a relationship, but also expand your existing sexual repertoire," says Emily Morse, sex expert and radio host of Sex With Emily. Here, Morse shares some of her favorite questions to help take your bedroom behavior up a notch. And the best part? These questions work both ways, so here's hoping he's a quick learner.

Play 'Would You Rather?'

"The kids game 'Would you rather?' can easily be turned into a sexy game allowing you both to explore your sexual boundaries and understand each others wants and desire," says Emily. "The answers are fun but also very revealing about each partners' attitude towards sex and relationships." Emily helps us get warmed up...

Would you rather be blindfolded or blindfold me?

"This is a way to test how your partner feels about letting go during sex play," Morse says.

Would you rather have sex while someone is watching you, or would you want to watch a couple have sex in front of you?

"(This is a) fast track way of finding out if your partner is a voyeur or an exhibitionist," says Morse, adding: "Plan accordingly!"

Would you rather orgasm while I'm performing oral or during intercourse?

This is one way to find out how important oral sex is to your partner," says Emily. "Something you might not want to slack on, depending on the answer." How your partner answers would be telling of how they feel about orgasms," she adds. "Do they want to let go and have you perform on them or would they rather have the one-on-one, eye-to-eye, connection that comes with intercourse?"

Would you rather try out kinkier sex ideas or have romantic sex?

"Sure, some of us like a little of everything. A spanking one day and staring into each other's eyes like you mean it another day. Is your partner vanilla or spicy? The truth will be revealed."

Dig Deep During Dirty Talk

"Asking your partner questions about their preferences and desires will help you pleasure him or her more during sex," asserts Morse, who has a handful of suggestions to get started.

What was your high school sex fantasy?

"Since they aren’t in high school anymore, this question will get them to talk more freely about their fantasies," explains Morse. "They can always blame their 'High School self' for a bizarre fantasy. Also, it will get them thinking about all the sexual frustration they had in high school and how they can finally realize their fantasies with you."

What does it feel like when you orgasm?

"This makes your partner think about how wonderful it feels to orgasm," says Emily. Here's the bonus: "The feeling is indescribable, so they’ll probably want to have one ASAP to give you an accurate description of what it feels like."

Is it okay if I go down on you right now?

"This is extremely sexy because you’re asking them if it’s okay to do something they’re dying for you to do," explains Emily, who says this is the perfect question to pose during sex. "By asking them if it’s okay you’re showing them just how much you want to please them."

Play "Truth or Dare"

"'Truth or Dare' questions are also a great way to learn more about your partner and ensure you get it on at the same time," explains Emily. Here are some of her examples:

Truth: What kind of foreplay would you like to try next time we’re in bed?

Dare: Choose two parts of my body and stimulate at once using use mouth and hand.

Truth: What’s something dirty that you’ve always wanted to say to me in bed (or be said to you)?

Dare: Eat a piece of fruit (peaches are always a sexy favorite) in the most sensual way possible.

To ease into some dirty inquiring, try one of the below classics:

What’s your favorite position?

Where have you always wanted to have sex, but are scared to?

What’s your favorite body part other than your penis?

Would you rather I kiss you softly or more roughly?

Do you prefer me to undress you or would you like to undress yourself?

What's your most memorable sexual experience we’ve had together and why?

What’s a fantasy you've never shared and would like to try?

Happy Dirty Talking, y'all.

9 Questions For a Hot Guy: Matthew Terry, the Face of Calvin Klein Dark Obsession Fragrance for Men

moving cross country, finding a great partner... or lobbing off all your hair a la Karlie Kloss). But don't fret: It's not an impossible task. It just takes some thought—and great advice.

"A lot of times people don't like what they're doing in their current job, but they haven't defined what they want to be doing in their potential new job," Nicole Williams, career expert and author of Girl On Top, tells Cosmopolitan.com.

She says nabbing your dream job starts with doing some soul-searching: "I ask people to assess components of their current working life, and match them against the career they are looking to get into."

Try asking yourself these questions...

Time: How many hours do you want to work and in what kind of environment? Big company, small, telecommute, work-from-home flexibility (you know, the kind banned at Yahoo!)

Challenge Level: How important is growth potential and being challenged to you? Are you ambitious and ready to lean in, or just looking for a 9 to 5 to fill your time?

Work Environment: Define your best possible scenario in terms of work relationships. Who are you working with and for? What kind of boss would be ideal? Do you have dreams of becoming a boss?

Passion: How important is passion to you? For example, a woman we know races triathlons and feels like she doesn't need to be passionate about her job; her passion is attached to her sport.

6. Money: How much do you need to make? How much money do you want to make?

Steps To Making A Career Change

Stop Delaying

"The longer you are in the job you are thinking of leaving, the further away you are from new opportunity," says Williams. "It doesn't get any easier. Doing it earlier is emotionally, mentally and professionally better."

Be Willing To Sacrifice Something

You may have to start from the bottom (or the middle) and work your way to the top; Either way, be ready to drop a few rungs on the corporate ladder.

"Internships can be a good idea—or be willing to take a pay cut," says Williams. "If this internship, for example, introduces you to influential people and helps develop a skill-set, you'll be able to take these things to leverage them into a bigger position."

Start Saving

"Have a solid idea of the risk and savings in the bank," advises Williams. Even if it means cutting back on luxuries. "If you know the internship is going to last for six months at a minimum, that's the number you need to have in savings, and I normally advise 10 to 20 percent in savings as a risk buffer."

Network

"People love to talk about themselves," says Williams. "Find them on LinkedIn and through people you know, and consult with them."

Williams suggests asking those in similar fields questions like, "I wonder if you'd speak to me about your day-to-day life; What do you love most about the work that you do; What do you wish you would have known going into this career?"

"Those kind of questions are going to give you the information you need and will help you know the people you are going to need to know," she adds.

Now that you are armed with more than just your resume and a fresh manicure, it's time to start hitting the pavement. Happy hunting, gals.

9 Saucy Sex Questions for <i>Ready for Love</i>'s Tracy McMillan

The new NBC reality dating show Ready for Love premieres tonight with author Tracy McMillan serving as sage-as-hell matchmaker. But are you ready for sex—and, more specifically—the nine burning sex questions we posed to our woman crush, Tracy?

Cosmo: Let's warm up with some sex q & a foreplay: How soon is too soon to sleep with a guy you are dating?

Tracy: It depends on you and what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for tears and crazy sexting, sleep with him right away. If you’re looking for a long-term committed relationship... I would say don’t sleep with him until you know that what you both want is a long-term committed relationship.

Cosmo: What if someone unwisely defies your advice, is sleeping someone she likes and it’s probably not going anywhere, but she can’t stop sleeping with him?

Tracy: You have to not sleep with that person in the first place. That is what I have figured out after 35 years of dating. Do not sleep with him in the first place if he doesn’t want to have a long-term relationship with you, and that is what you want from him. You have to be so brutally honest with yourself and if you can’t be brutally honest with yourself, go to your friend and give her permission to be brutally honest with you.

Cosmo: What if you are in a committed relationship and you like each other but you are not having good sex – how do you get around that?

Tracy:  Don’t have sex with somebody once and decide that whatever is going on is all there is ever going to be. I think it takes two to three months to really figure out what is going on sexually with a partner. When you have sex with a guy for the first time, he’s doing whatever his last girlfriend liked. Give it some time. The only problem is you can give it time and then all of a sudden you are bonded to him as an individual and if the sex never gets any better, you could get in a bind. But 85 percent of the time, it will get better.

Cosmo: Should you say something to him, like, 'This is bad sex?'

Tracy: Gradually steer them in the direction you want them to go. Be careful you don’t shame them. It’s scary; men do a lot more in sex in some ways than we do. They have more on the line. If we get bored, we can kind of kick it, but they can’t ever kick it. That’s why they like blow jobs so much and why we like oral sex. Oral sex is so great because there is no performing—you can just relax!

Cosmo: Do you think oral sex is more intimate than regular sex?

Tracy: In some ways it is. I feel more vulnerable during it. A dude is, like, down there and you feel like you are really being seen. They are evolved to want to be there, but it’s vulnerable also because the pressure is on to have an orgasm. Anxiety is the killer of arousal.

Cosmo: Some girls tell us they’re giving oral sex, but not getting enough. How do we get ours?!

Tracy: It’s really hard for a guy to really invest in you unless he’s invested in you. If you are gonna just hook up with a random, why should he go down on you? He doesn’t care and has no investment in pleasing you. He only has investment in pleasing himself for the night; that’s what hooking up is.

Cosmo: Should you hook up a lot to learn what you like?

Tracy: Not necessarily. I think you learn what you like by being in a relationship that’s safe enough for you to explore. I have girlfriends that have the best sex with strangers because they feel safe enough to really go for it and I know girls who only feel safe enough to go for it in a long-term relationship. Find what’s safe for you.

Cosmo: Are we still supposed to be ladies on the street and kinky freaks in the bed?

Tracy: Forget being a lady and being a freak – just dare to be yourself. If you can’t be yourself with a guy, maybe think twice about having sex with him. It’s hard because who doesn’t want to have sex all the time? But you don’t have to go all the way to sex either. What about making out in a doorway or in a car?

Cosmo:  Are women talking to each other enough about sex?

Tracy: Women want everyone to think they are having the best sex ever. You feel ashamed to bring up your problems to your friends. As you get older, you realize how much realer your attitudes and feelings become about sex. Find one or two safe friends who you can reach out to and say, “Am I crazy because I am into this?” Sexuality is an amazing thing – there are aspects that you are like, “Shit! That’s what I am into it? I am scared of that!” There’s a lot there and you will have a lifetime to learn about it.

Tracy McMillan is the author of Why You're Not Married... Yet and a matchmaker on NBC's new primetime reality show Ready For Love, premiering Tuesday April 9. She's also the mother of a 16-year-old guy.

21 Questions That Will Haunt Us During the <i>Scandal</i> Hiatus

The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? Our names are Dara, Elisa, Abby and Michelle, and we're addicted to Scandal. As a result, we died and came back to life several times during last night's "pretzel ride" of an episode, as our friend, Scandal recapper, Tangela Ekhoff called it. (Tony Goldwyn, please feel free to call us again to discuss.)

The following 21 questions (one for every day until the gladiators return) will haunt us for the next three weeks. (Caution: Millions of spoilers ahead.)

1. Would it be weird to hope against hope that Liv and Fitz stop fighting and have hospital sex?

2. But seriously, has someone saying "hi" ever FELT so much?

3. Is Killing Verna the New Defiance, the secret that's going to bring down Liv and Fitz? #pleaseno

4. If Jake isn't the mole, someone else is. If contract killer Brian Mackenzie effed up Huck and called Cyrus, how is Cyrus related to the mole and why would Cy be being betraying Fitz?!

5. If Cyrus is a mole, would we be able to carry on with our lives? Probably not.

6. Albatross/The Mole and his underlings are really good, what with the tampering of the security cameras and dodging the sweeping at Liv's apt, etc. They're ALMOST gladiator good, as if they know how the glads work. Is the mole someone who knows them all intimately?

7. Is Mellie the mole? Then again, she doesn't know sh*t....

8. Is Mellie's soul dead?

9. Where is America's Baby?

10. Why is Cyrus screwing up his baby's sleep schedule? From what we know, that is really messed up.

11. Where did Liv get that heather grey wide lapel loungewear robe thingy because it's like butta?

12. Abby and David. Can Abby please just admit she stole the damn Cytron chip?! So they can live happily ever after, like, immediately? (Love you, Josh Malina!)

13. Was Noel good in bed? How can anyone sleep with Fitz on THE desk in the Oval and then ever sleep with ANYONE ever again?!! Then again, she needed some, so, we get it.

14. How gross did that beer taste after the $300 bottle of wine Liv recently drank at Lisa Edelstein's? We shudder.

15. Maybe Cy hired Brian Mackenzie to have Jake killed?

16. Who the eff was in Liv's apartment (and isn't it super-coincidental that he happened to be there the moment Jake admitted he was spying on her?) Or are we supposed to know that this was Brian Mackenzie?

16. When the eff will we know what's up with Harrison's former life? Brolivia Pope's history needs to be revealed.

17. Will someone please force Huck into some psychotherapy or something?! Chiiiiild. He is suffering.

18. Jake was packing up a scary-looking bag and a concealed weapon right before Liv popped by with Gettysburger. Where was he going?

19. Is Gettysburger like the In-N-Out of D.C.?

20. The scene where Fitz talked to Mellie about their business-transaction relaysh. Were Fitz and Mellie in love until Mellie turned power hungry and cold? Or was Fitz really saying that he realizes now it was a set up (by big Jerry) and he was the fool for so long thinking he and Mellie just fell for each other?

21. Will we survive the next three weeks?

Scandalheads, what did we miss? What questions are tearing you up after last night's episode?

Your Most Private Sex Questions — Answered

Q: Sometimes when I'm having sex, my vagina makes a noise like I'm passing gas. What causes it, and how can I prevent it?

A: This noisy emission is air escaping your vagina. "When you're aroused, your vagina expands to allow room for your partner's penis," explains Barbara Keesling, PhD, author of Sex So Great She Can't Get Enough. "His thrusting during intercourse pushes air into you, which fills the space in the inner part of your vagina that has expanded. A shift in body position or a deep thrust can force that air out, resulting in the fartlike sound." It's also possible to queef postorgasm, when air is expelled as the vagina returns to its prearoused state.
