The Top Porn Search Terms for Every State In America

That "50 Nifty United States" song you learned in grade school will never sound the same.

PornHub has released a mid-year report of some user statistics by state. The biggest takeaway is that, without exception, Southern porn-watchers spend more time indulging in their hobby than their Northern counterparts. You'd think we'd read enough Tennessee Williams plays to know that already.

It goes from the most time, Mississippi (11 minutes, 59 seconds), to the rest of the Southern states, then the Northern states, and then the final three, New Hampshire, Vermont and finally Rhode Island (10 minutes). New York is surprisingly low on the list, considering I live here.

The top three searches of porn niches in each state are basically your usual suspects. "Creampie" (when a guy comes inside a girl), "college," "teen," "compilation," "lesbians" and "milf." One interesting side-note: States like Alabama, Kentucky and Louisiana, who have — let's just say a history with the Civil Rights movement — count "ebony" among their top search terms. Make of that what you will.

The average US porn watcher spends 10 minutes and 51 seconds watching "teens, "creampies" and "milfs." Then there are the searches on the odd side...

Wyoming: "smoking." This can only mean... smoking during sex? Smoking after sex? Does the Surgeon General's warning on cigarette packs in Wyoming read, "You should not smoke if you do not want a massive and immediate boner?"

Nevada: "anita queen." A quick Google reveals that Anita Queen is a porn actress who has starred in such Independent Spirit Award-winning films as Big Titty Lesbians and Drunk Sex Orgy: Prison Pussy Break. She was also in Hostel, apparently.

Kentucky, Virginia, Massachusetts: "hentai" Short for hentai seiyoku, a Japanese phrase that means "perverse sexual desire," hentai is often found in the form of anime porn, either comics or animation. One popular example of this is Weather Report Girl, which contains what looks like a hell of a lot of sex but no weather reporting.

This has been today's America Is Drenched In Semen report.

A Century of Mathematics in America, Part 1 (History of Mathematics, Vol. 1) (repost)

A Century of Mathematics in America, Part 1 (History of Mathematics, Vol. 1) By Peter Duren, Uta C. Merzbach
English | 1988 | 477 Pages | ISBN: 0821801244 | PDF | 8,1 MB
In the year 1888, Thomas S. Fiske and some of his colleagues at Columbia University founded the New York Mathematical Society. As the organization grew to national scope, the name was changed in 1894 to the American Mathematical Society.
Since that time, the Society has grown to represent a large and diverse group of mathematicians and to exert a strong influence on the progress of mathematical research throughout the world.

Observing the approach of the Centennial year, the AMS Committee on the Publication Program decided to mark the occasion with the publication of appropriate historical materials. The Committee on History of Mathematics
was appointed to organize and oversee the collection of suitable materials, and to continue a program of publication of mathematical history beyond the Centennial year. The members of the latter committee were Peter Duren (Chairman), Richard Askey, Bruno Harris, and Uta Merzbach.

Miss America on Life Lessons…and Butt Glue

Meet the Beauty Bloggers

Carly Cardellino: I'm the beauty and fashion editor here at Cosmopolitan.com. I'll try just about anything once (I have the crop cut—my hair used to be super-long—and body wave to prove it) and then report back. I'm obsessed with hair products, like volumizers and salt sprays, as well as mascara, nail polish, a good foundation (right now I'm using Tom Ford Beauty Traceless Foundation SPF 15), and blush (it literally changes the way you look in seconds)—hopefully you can see why I'm in this business. I also love picking out head-to-toe outfits for friends whether they're going on a date with their guy or a black-tie wedding—so feel free to click on that "contact" link below and send me a question.

Leah Wyar: Ladies, I’m the DIY beauty guru. My specialties? Spray-tanning and mastering the at-home manicure. I’ve tried dozens of spray-tanning formulas and have mastered the art of the self-tan (don’t worry, I’ll share!). Plus, I paint on the hottest nail trends every week (currently I’m obsessed with the glitter and dark polish trend). Follow me as I branch out and perfect my DIY skills (up next: waxing!).

Marta Topran: I’m obsessed with making my skin as glowy as possible. That means trying out every anti-aging potion out there and never leaving the house without some sort of shimmery highlighter on my cheekbones. I’m also the resident brow and lash addict. Right now, I’m rocking super long lash extensions that I can’t believe I ever lived without.

The Hottest Bachelor in America!

No doubt you've noticed that our November issue is packed with many, many six packs—aka the 2012 Cosmo Bachelors. This week, all 52 sexy single men came to the Cosmo headquarters in NYC for two days of media appearances, Bachelor bromances, flirting with Cosmo staffers (as if we could resist!), and the annual Cosmo Bachelor Party...which might have been our most epic bash yet. Here's what you missed:

-California pulled a stuffed animal out of his pants during an impromptu on-stage striptease, resulting in a catch-the-bouquet like squabble when he tossed it into the crowd!

- One super-smooth, shall-remain-anonymous bachelor told a Cosmo editor, "Put my number in your phone. Use it." Guess somebody was feeling cocky...

-Overheard: "Is he a stripper?!" (referring to Oklahoma's crazy-good dance moves)

The highlight of the night was when host Carrie Keagan crowned one lucky man Bachelor of the Year: 25-year-old Ryan Chenevert from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Ryan charmed our pants off (well, not literally) with his sweet Southern manners...and his even sweeter Southern biceps. He's also a law school grad who just passed the bar exam on his first try. We were thrilled to award him the coveted title and the $10k grand prize.

Cosmo girls, take to Twitter to give @Ryan_Chenevert the congrats he deserves! He says he wants to settle down before he's 30, so now's the time to make a move.

Finally: Since we can't bring all of you to NYC to party with the Bachelors, we took this sneaky behind-the-scenes video to show you what happens when the bar is open...and the shirts come off.

Who is your favorite 2012 Bachelor? And, um, are you a sucker for bossy guys too? Chat with us in the comments.
