Shonda Rhimes is to make her acting debut in The Mindy Project.
The showrunner and creator of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal will make an appearance in the Fox sitcom starring Mindy Kaling next month.
Rhimes will play herself in the autumn episode, but no further details have been revealed.
The Mindy Project returns for its third season on Tuesday, September 16 at 9.30 p.m.
ABC will launch Shondaland Thursdays a week later, with season premieres of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and her new show How to Get Away With Murder.
