Beyoncé Ditches Pixie Cut For Blonde Bob

Having a hard time keeping up with Beyoncé's ever-evolving style? Yeah, same here.

The cut heard round the world (as it's known in certain circles, such as "my apartment") is only a week fresh, but King Bey has already switched up her game with an entirely new look: The superstar was spotted in Miami shooting a mysterious video of some sort (hmm...) and also eating at a restaurant with Jay Z because yes, even the '03 Bonnie & Clyde have to eat sometime.

There, it was revealed that she's not rocking a pixie at all — she's got a chic blonde graduated bob! (She doesn't look happy about the photographers, either.)

Some theories about Beyoncé's hair:
1. It grows at a superhuman rate, because she is a superhuman.
2. It's extensions or a wig.

You be the judge.

Is the Pixie Cut Peacing Out?

Have a pixie cut? Chances are if you didn't just get it, you might be itching to grow it out, like actresses Michelle Williams and Lena Dunham are.

Michelle Williams recently told E! News, "I think I'm ready. It's on its way, slowly but surely. That's why I've stayed with short hair for so long, the mid-stage is insufferable. It's really hard on your self-esteem."

And Lena Dunham recently Instagrammed, "Growing out my hair for Season 3 has taken on an air of tragedy."

So why are these celebs growing out their super short cuts? "It's such a drastic look for so many people, so after they've made their statement they get over it after a while," says Matt Fugate celebrity stylist at Sally Hershberger in NYC. "Also, for spring and summer, the trends are leaning more toward long, blunt cuts that are structured and versatile, which is key for the warmer, summer months."

So what does Fugate suggest you do if you're ready to trade in your short tresses for longer ones?

"Start by growing your hair out toward a bob style, but not so that it looks shaggy. You still want to keep it structured," he says. "To make sure it doesn't look unkempt, grow the back length out, but continue cutting it so that the front of your hair can catch up to it; otherwise you'll have a mullet. A good point of reference as to what you want your hairstyle to look like as it grows out is the cut that I recently gave to model Jessica Stam [which we found a picture of on Refinery29]."

Then, once you get to the point where your hair is a messy bob, you can start growing it collectively to the length you want, adds Fugate.

So, do you have a pixie? And are you growing yours out?
