San Diego Mayor Bob Filner Accused Of Sexually Harassing A Great-Grandmother, Too

The latest victim in the seemingly endless spree of sexual harassment allegations being lobbed at disgraced San Diego mayor, insatiable letch and generally horrible human Bob Filner? Wait for it — this one's a doozy!

San Diego's 10 News reports that now a 16th (!) woman, Peggy Shannon, has come forward about Filner's long history of abuse; she works part-time at City Hall and is a 67-year-old great-grandmother. She alleges that he once grabbed her and kissed her: "I knew he was engaged and I felt very shocked," she said. "On the day that Mayor Filner grabbed me and kissed me, I went home and cried." She also said that in one incident, Filner asked her, "Do you think you could go eight hours straight?"

This guy is the worst.

The fact that she's older, too, just goes to show just how predatory he is; he wasn't just chasing all the pretty young women in the office, but in fact, saw all women as objects onto which he could project his weird, gross fantasies.

"I want to do the right thing for San Diego — Mayor Filner should resign immediately," Shannon said. "I want to protect working women."

Yup. Time for Mayor Filner to go.

31 San Diego Teens Suspended From School for Vigorous Twerking

Footloose comes to life! The time-honored tradition of dancing nasty in school (don't you remember the chaperone yelling "Leave room for Jesus!" to grinding couples at homecoming? No? Just me? Cool.) is being threatened. If Pastor John Lithgow was so worked up over Kevin Bacon's harmless '50s-ish style bump and grind, just imagine what he would say about twerking.

The 31-strong Scripps Ranch High School Twerk Team's college admissions are in jeopardy after the school board declined to rescind the two-day suspensions they were given—under the guise of sexual harassment— for twerking to a YG song in a student-made video. (For the Olds among us: Twerking, n: A combo of "twisting" and "jerking" that The Kids are doing nowadways, often with a girl doing the actual twerking while a boy hovers next to her looking uncomfortable, if you go by these kids' video. See also: Miley Cyrus twerking in a unicorn suit.)

Filmed for a Scripps Ranch High School media class project, the video also got its participants nixed from the prom and graduation ceremony. However, the students ("28 white females and 3 male students of color," the press elaborates) will have the opportunity to go up in front of a panel and request prom and graduation back. Adults are always projecting their own repressed slut-shaming weirdness onto teens: The Midwest yoga pants ban in schools, for example. But do you think the twerk team's punishment was suited to their crime?

Although their parents are in a tizzy about the justice that was meted out, only the administrators can take back the punishment, and it's not looking like they will. One board member, however, said that his ideal solution would be to have the students apologize and the principal expunge the punishment from their disciplinary record. And the L.A. Times reports that the local chapter of ACLU has also chimed in on the students' behalf, asserting that their punishment "twists and trivializes the purpose of sexual harassment policies to use them to punish students they were designed to protect."

It's like the ass-shaking version of The Breakfast Club, only instead of The Jock, The Princess, The Basket Case, etc., it's the Upside-Down-Ass Jiggling Girl, the Other Upside-Down-Ass-Jiggling Girl, the Next Upside-Down-Ass-Jiggling Girl...
