Jon Hamm Vs. Kim Kardashian: Whose Side Are You On?

Maybe it’s the whole Don Draper association, but we always thought Jon Hamm was a gentleman. That’s why we were floored earlier this week when he trashed reality stars and singled out Kim Kardashian in particular in an interview. To quote, Jon said, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f---ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly....It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

Jon's comments about Kim were part of a bigger quote he gave about how he doesn't understand reality stars and how many of them have become famous.

Now, Kim is firing back on Twitter. And by “firing back,” we mean she took the express lane to the high road. Even though Jon said Kim’s “stupidity is celebrated,” Kim released this classy statement:

“I respect Jon and am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We’re all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is, in my opinion, careless.”

Late last month, experts told us the best way to deal with a hater is to put things in perspective and shake off their negative comments. Kim did both, but also managed to put Jon in his place in the nicest way possible.

Somehow we doubt Jon will have a response.
