Be Freddie for a day

Always wondered how Lady Gaga got her now-famous moniker? Stefani Germanotta was influenced so much by Freddie Mercury and Queen's song 'Radio Ga Ga' that when she was looking for a stage name, she settled on Lady Gaga as a tribute to the catchy tune.

Gaga isn't the only Queen fan out there (who doesn't love a round of 'We Will Rock You' at karaoke night?). This September 5,  the Mercury Phoenix Trust is launching 'Freddie For A Day' Global Charity Newtork. This special day is encouraging Queen fans around the world to celebrate Freddie's birthday and raise funds to support the continued work of fighting HIV AIDS worldwide.

Want to go gaga for Freddie? All you have to do is dress up as Freddie Mercury on September 5 and get your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you at freddieforaday.com.au. So trim those mo's and pull out those tight white pants and leotards (we know you've got some) and turn up the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' this September.
