Fashion icon Victoria Beckham has been hounded by various health professionals after the heavily pregnant singer-come-designer stepped on to the red carpet in a pair of super-high nude stilettos during Hollywood’s Walk of Fame a few days ago.
Similarly, mum-to-be Kate Hudson also made headlines earlier this month when she wore a pair of platform Christian Louboutin pumps on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Medical experts warn wearing such high heels during pregnancy poses a risk for both the child and the mother as it increases the risk of injury for the mother, due to the changed centre of gravity and hormonal shifts that come with being pregnant. They also claim wearing high-heels during pregnancy will increase the risk of back pain.
Sigh… Now along with not being able to fit into your favourite skinny jeans, mums-to-be can’t even enjoy the luxury of a fabulous pair of pumps. What is the world coming to?
