Watch a Porn Star Discuss Sexuality With His Family on a New Reality Show

Gay porn site Broke Straight Boys has just released the first episode of its new reality show, and there are two surprising things about it: It's safe for work, and it's kind of endearing [via Gawker].

Porn star Paul Canon talks about his life before porn and the drug overdose that turned his life around, then joins his family in their living room for a talk about how they reacted when they found out not only that he was a porn star, but that he was a gay porn star.

The conversation is oddly refreshing (although decidedly not politically correct). It's a family of five arguing about sexuality and brotherhood, cameras be damned. Even when Canon's family is making the kind of comments that would singlehandedly end a politician's career, it's all done out of love.

But like most parents, they're confused about Paul's choices and they reflect society's need to label sexuality. Paul, meanwhile, doesn't see why he even needs to spend time convincing people that he's not necessarily bisexual or, well, anything. "It doesn't matter," he says to the cameras. "It makes no fucking difference." Word, Paul.

6 Sports to Watch at the 2014 Winter Olympics

You're probably going to watch some part of the Winter Olympics. Even if you refuse to watch anything on tape delay because your New Year’s resolution was to “just live in the moment, Becky,” or you’re protesting Putin’s homophobic comments. Admit it. We all are. And if you're just planning to stick to figure skating and men’s hockey, well, you'll be missing out on a handful of completely weird, terrifying, thrilling sports you've probably never heard of. So here are six niche Winter Olympic sports you should watch instead, and how best to enjoy them.

1. Skeleton
Nothing — including the bobsled, made famous by Cool Runnings, and the suggestive double luge, made infamous by the porn parody Dual Tonguings — NOTHING is as insane as skeleton. It even has a spooky name. In this sport, individual athletes throw themselves head-first down the track, reaching speeds of up to 80 mph, their chins hovering centimeters above the ice. It has only been part of the Winter Olympics since 2002, when Olympic officials decided it was so crazy that it just might work.

How to watch: With your fingers over your eyes. This one’s about pure speed and sharp turns on ice. But seriously, someone should stop these maniacs.

2. Biathlon
Skiing plus shooting! Where could you go wrong? Like the summer’s modern pentathlon, biathlon finds its roots in 19th-century military training. Created by the Norwegians as “military patrol,” the modern iteration took the name of biathlon, completely missing the insanely superior name of “gunski.” There are multiple biathlon events at the Olympics, but basically participants ski a distance with rifles on their backs, shoot at a set of targets from standing and prone positions, then ski back. Missed targets incur a time penalty.

How to watch: With your friend who you secretly suspect is super pro-gun. During the longer cross-country parts, make some crack about concealed-carry laws, then sit back and watch them go wild with Second Amendment fervor.

3. Women’s Hockey
Hockey is obviously not a niche sport, but the women’s tournament is always criminally overshadowed by the men’s. Since joining the Olympics in 1998, women’s hockey has quickly established itself with amazingly skilled and seriously tough athletes. The sport has consistently been dominated by two teams: Canada and the US. The US won gold in ’98, but Canada has taken gold ever since. This might be the Winter Olympics' most epic rivalry.

How to watch: With unreasonable patriotism. Expect, nay, DEMAND to see a North American rematch in the gold medal round.

4. Curling
No, curling is not shuffleboard on ice. How dare you. Curling is a game of skill and patience and strategy. If anything, it’s bocce ball on ice. In curling, two teams of four take alternating turns sliding eight 42-pound granite stones down the long icy “sheet” into the “house” (what looks like the Target logo, and probably will be. Sponsors, amiright?) Every throw is directed by the team captain, or “skip," unless it’s the skip’s turn to throw, at which point the “vice skip” takes over. Each round is called an “end," and a team earns “points” by having however many of their stones closer to the house’s center, or “button," than the other team’s first closest stone, or “stone.” At the end of ten ends the curling match ends. There are no golden snitches. Any more questions? Oh, "curling" is when the stone takes a curved path into the house, and the broom sweepers smooth out a path for the stone to follow. Whew.

How to watch: Rowdily, with beer. Due to the length of the sheet, there’s a lot of hilarious yelling by the skip at the sweepers. Watch out for those Norwegians and their pants! What a bunch of goofballs. This sport is just crazy.

5. Snowboard Cross
A personal favorite, the snowboard cross is the closest thing to a Mario Party game that you will find in modern sports. Four snowboarders race down the same course at the same time, timed by the same clock. Collisions and cutoffs are a regular occurrence. Embarrassingly showboaty tricks that end up costing you the gold medal? Less so.

How to watch: With your ears. There’s nothing better than listening to snowboard announcers trying to say words like “biff” and “tweak” with their very official Olympic gravitas.

6. Ice Dancing
Ice dancing is basically extremely deluded Disney on Ice. (Which is a good thing?) It does involve more intricate footwork than figure skating, though. Make sure to watch out for the short dance routine and the required step sequence, lift, and sequential twizzles! The pairing of Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who took silver in 2010, look to be the America’s best shot at gold.

How to watch: With your fashion sass on point. Since they don't have to stay in place during jumps and flips, ice dancing costumes are usually, how do I put this, more flamboyant than figure skating garb.

Miley Cyrus: "Guys Watch Too Much Porn"

In her W Magazine cover feature, the now-single Miley Cyrus mentioned that she was having a tough time trusting guys, and generally having a rough time in the dating world, thanks to its unrealistic expectations (via Us Weekly):

"Guys watch too much porn. Those girls don't exist. They're not real girls. And that's like us watching romance movies. That's girl porn, because, like, those guys do not exist."

A little heteronormative, perhaps, as I am an avid porn and rom-com viewer, but nevertheless! I can confirm that everyone who is single and dating right now is in some kind of fantasy world.

20 Awesome Shows Every Twentysomething Must Watch

1. Felicity

Dare you to not fall in love with good-girl Felicity Porter (Keri Russell), who’s on her oft-earnest trip through college in NYC. Her world is a thing of pre-social media beauty where a simple note can fuel an episode plot and big decisions include getting pixie cut (yes, yes, yes!) and choosing between Ben or Noel (just wait and see!).

2. Sex and the City

The glitz — sex and book parties and Sarah Jessica Parker in a tutu, oh my — is the initial draw to this romcom. But Sex truly trades on its foursome: spunky Carrie, sultry Samantha, bookish Miranda, and prim Charlotte, who unspool ever-relevant and ever-ridiculous yarns about love, friendship, and — yep — the ins and outs of giving a blowjob.

3. Scandal

So much fun. Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) leads her crack team of Washington, D.C., pseudo-lawyer “fixers” — all while wearing impeccable fashions and splendidly announcing “It’s handled!” with regularity. Oh, yeah, and there’s a rigged election, a presidential assassination attempt, a White House coup gone wrong, a murdered Supreme Court justice, and so, so much more breakneck crazy likely fueled by a case 5-Hour Energy in the writers’ room.

4. The O.C.

The pilot hooks you with a bevy of beautiful people (exhibits A, B, and C: Benjamin McKenzie, Adam Brody, and Chris Carmack), sudsy SoCal story lines, and one of modern TV’s most memorable lines: “Welcome to the O.C., bitch!” The show’s first season — introducing everything from winky in-show reality series The Valley to the Cohen’s annual Chrismukkah celebration to Seth and Summer’s tortured relationship — is a study in perfectly crafted, endlessly fun television.

5. The Mary Tyler Moore Show

Sure, everyone's talking about New Girl these days, but you can get a purer quirky-girl fix here. Mary Tyler Moore triumphed as TV’s first unmarried, independent career woman. Her Mary Richards, a syrupy television producer new to Minneapolis, was the every gal amid a lineup of fringy foils like a grumpy boss and nymphomaniac homemaker. Bonus points for tackling touchy subjects like pay equality, premarital sex, divorce and homosexuality.

6. Veronica Mars

Murder, She Wrote for a younger generation. Revel in Kristen Bell’s private investigating prowess, as she rolls around Neptune, Calif., solving mini-mysteries and trying to determine who murdered her best friend, Lily (Amanda Seyfried), over three seasons. Another good reason to join the party: A Kickstarter-funded, big-screen movie version hits theaters in 2014.

7. My So-Called Life

A painful, undeniable snapshot of adolescence that, blessedly, doesn’t feel like an after-school special and resonates well beyond those angsty years. Claire Danes’ crying-jag-prone Angela Chase plus Jared Leto’s dreamy-eyed Jordan Catalano equals swoon swoon swoon.

8. Homeland

Lots of cable’s most revered dramas are dude-ish (see: Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead). But here’s a show led by a lady in Carrie Mathison (hi again, Ms. Danes!), a CIA operative who grapples with things like tracking down a potential terrorist and then falling for said potential terrorist.

9. Girls

You’ll fall into one of two camps with this divisive, contemporary take on the twentysomething gal plight in NYC: Love it or loathe it. Whichever way you go, it’s worth watching Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna live, love, hate, and party, just to partake in the outsize chatter around it all.

10. The Mindy Project

One of the funniest comedies on TV right now. Mindy Kaling is a wonder to behold, tearing around as a gyno whose brain is fried on romcoms. Her quips are wry, smart, and spot-on. "I figure if I'm gonna be a mess," she says at one turn, "I might as well be a hot mess.” And at another point, to her will-they-won’t-they love interest Danny (the sexy Chris Messina): “If we’re still single in five years and we haven’t found anybody, can we make a pact? That we will kill each other.”

11. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

A coming-of-age fantasy by TV master Joss Whedon that’s told via a vampire slayer Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and her extended Scooby Gang. The genius here lies in its smart-but-low-budget execution, the deep literary and pop culture references, and the fact that at one point Buffy interrupts her SAT prep session to stab an enemy with her pencil.

12. Ally McBeal

Calista Flockhart was a revelation as a kooky Bean Town lawyer-heroine in this quirky comedy. Leggy micro-miniskirts in court? Yep. Sexy coffee sipping? Check. A dancing baby? Sure. A tour through McBeal dusts off an idiosyncratic brand of feminism and unpacks a glorious time capsule of the ’90s (see: chunky heeled loafers).

13. The Golden Girls

Sex and the City’s geriatric predecessor traded glamour girls in NYC for an AARP-eligible quartet in Miami who spun out wisdom for the ages. Here's a typical exchange, launched by eldest gal Sophia: "I've got something in this old-lady purse that's going to make you scream, holler, and jump for joy." Replies sexpot Blanche: "Are the batteries included?" The show's biggest lesson — that it's good to laugh — was often wrapped in such sly comebacks. Plus, it taught us that any problem can be solved with a cheesecake at 2 a.m.

14. Pretty Little Liars

Addictive, even while it’s hard to tell what the endgame of the noir-ish tale of four friends dealing with a faceless, digital bully really is. But it’s got snappy-fun dialogue, a billowing drive forward, and modern appeal. Plus, the stars — Ashley Benson, Troian Bellisario, Shay Mitchell, and Lucy Hale — collectively have the best hair on television.

15. Orange Is the New Black

What launches as a vignette about the struggle of an ill-prepared woman (Taylor Schilling) sent to prison quickly evolves into a study of hilarious and heartbreaking characters inside a women’s prison, ultimately an allegory for the outside world. A few other selling points: There are characters named Crazy Eyes and Taystee, divine American Pie alum Natasha Lyonne stars as a truth-telling lesbian, and Liev Schreiber’s hot half-brother Pablo appears as a prison guard named George “Pornstache” Mendez because he has awesome facial hair.

16. Game of Thrones

It seems like a nerdfest, sure: Various fur-wearing clans clamor around a Middle Ages-ish fictional world known as Westeros and battle for power. But it’s epic TV, owing largely to its boggling cast of characters, exotic settings, and copious use of dragons, as tamed by the enviable Khaleesi (the beguiling Emilia Clarke), who is just one of the many badass women on this show (see: Lena Headey, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, and more).

17. The Daily Show

The day’s headlines and political missteps, delivered to you with biting humor (and a bent to the left) by the silvery foxy Jon Stewart. This should be as much a part of your pre-bedtime ritual as brushing your teeth.

18. Friends

It’s a gimme, but knowing this comedy behemoth is essential mostly because every life experience you’ll encounter is encapsulated in one of its episodes. Like, say, when you sleep with one of your pal's seven siblings but can't remember which one it is, or when you accidentally put beef in your trifle at Thanksgiving. See? Loaded with life lessons, friends.

19. Orphan Black

At face value, it’s a thriller exploring the moral issues of cloning and, rather thornily, personal identity. But scratch deeper and you’ll find Tatiana Maslany serving up an Emmy-worthy performance of 10 separate, completely distinct roles (and that’s just so far … season 2 is coming in April). Go ahead and schedule your jaw an appointment with the floor right now.

20. Clarissa Explains It All

Melissa Joan Hart’s star-making turn as a know-it-all teen who lived a way cooler life than you is wise beyond its years. Even adults can find solace in her musings. “Let’s face it, Sam,” she tells her best friend in an episode about blind dating, “when you bet on something you can’t see for yourself, you’re asking for disappointment.”

9 Christmas Movies Your Man Actually Wants to Watch

Don't believe what your cable listings are telling you! The most popular Christmas movies are not the best ones. These movies might not be the first ones to pop into your head, but they are fun for the whole family. Especially if your family includes guys.

9. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
For those who can't see their families this season, just spend a few hours with the Griswolds and relish the fact that you're not traveling anywhere.

8. Millions
I am a sucker for really good child actors, and this movie is up there with Slumdog Millionaire in that category. It's an absurdly clever heist movie (+100 already) wrapped in an adorable coming-of-age Christmas story. Plus, all the cute kids have British accents.

7. The Muppet Christmas Carol
Want to get a lively debate going with your friends? Simply ask, "What Muppet are you?" We all have such a connection to these wonderful creatures, and this movie represents that.

6. The Hudsucker Proxy
Tim Robbins gives his best performance other than The Shawshank Redemption. Plus, not many people saw it (just $2.8MM at the box office), so you can feel really hipster cool by including it among your fav's.

5. Scrooged
If Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, and Space Jam weren't enough to convince you that Bill Murray is the greatest living comedy actor, go watch Scrooged again. He has perfected Comedy Anger.

4. Rocky IV
Did you know that Sylvester Stallone single-handedly salvaged US-Russian relations in the '80s? Because he did with this scene.

3. Trading Places
Jamie Lee Curtis might be my favorite actress of all time, and she is at the top of her game. Plus, listen to this episode of NPR's Planet Money to learn how crazily accurate this movie is from a finance perspective. Props for that.

2. Home Alone
I was about Kevin's age when this movie came out. Did I try to booby trap my house when my parents went to sleep? You bet I did. Plus, Mr. Culkin gave us the gift of an iconic American facial expression.

1. Die Hard
It's one of the greatest action movies ever made, and it just happens to have a nice Christmas-y vibe layered in. Also, say "Shoot the glass" to any man over 25 and watch his eyes light up.

Watch Out for This Freaky New Job Interview Request

You already know the important things you need to be ready to share during a job interview—your resume, job references, and a synopsis of why you’d be so great for the job. But, according to a new report, some employers are also asking for your Facebook username and password as a means of assessing whether you’d make a good fit for their company.

Apparently, this practice is legal, but some states like Illinois and Maryland are working on legislation that would prevent it.

Some companies are skirting potential privacy issues by asking job applicants to friend an HR manager or log into a company computer during an interview so they can peruse your Facebook page.

Obviously, this is a sticky situation. You want the job and you think you’d make a great employee. But your profile may show a less-than-professional side of yourself (which you have every right to have). Should a potential employer be allowed to see every aspect of your life, personal as well as professional? We don’t think so. And even if you have the cleanest Facebook profile ever, the fact is, handing over your password is basically like giving perfect strangers the keys to your house and telling them it’s okay to go through your medical records. It just feels...un-American.

If you’re asked to fork over your password, politely say no, advises career expert Alexandra Levit, author of They Don’t Teach Corporate in College. “This is an invasion of privacy and is actually unsafe,” she says. She says you should tell the employer that identity theft experts advise never to share passwords. You’re also are within your rights to ask the interviewer why she needs this information and how it relates to your qualification for the job, says career expert Marc Dorio, author of Job Interviews for Dummies. Depending on their explanation, ask if there is another way to get them the information they need.

Of course, refusing to show your Facebook profile to a company who requests it could be a deal-breaker for you and that potential employer. So if you’d rather give them access than risk losing out on the job, make sure you clean up your Facebook page before you go in for an interview, says Levit. That means remove any party photos you’ve ever posted and any comment you’ve made that could potentially be misconstrued.

Have you ever been asked to share your Facebook password during an interview?
