Nail Art How-To: Heart to Heart Mani

This red heart mani is just as easy as it is adorable. Nail artist Simcha Whitehill aka Miss Pop shows you how to get the look below.

1. Prep and paint. "After you've filed your nails into an almond shape, pushed back your cuticles" — remember, DO NOT CUT THEM! — "and applied a basecoat, paint a small diagonal oval from the left side of your nail almost to the right side," Whitehill says. She used Tom Ford Nail Lacquer in Carnal Red.

2. Create the other half of the heart. "Make the same oval shape, starting from the right side of the nail to almost the left side, completing the heart," she says. "Then, apply a clear top coat and you're done!"

Now go out there and break some hearts!

We Heart Hairstyles With Bangs—Especially Jessica Biel's

Three things about bangs: 1. They add innocence and a bit of a rocker vibe to any haircut. 2. Fall is the best time to flaunt one since there's less of a chance that your tiny strands will stick to your forehead. 3. Sometimes they're a bitch to maintain. #Fact.

The latter is why we asked hairstylist Matt Fugate to tell us exactly how to handle a brand new fringe. Read on for his tips:

1. Blow out your bangs the right way. First, skip product on your bangs before you blow them out. Then, when your bangs are wet, comb them smooth and, holding them between your pointer and middle fingers, pull them tautly over and against your forhead. Then, dry your bangs on low heat starting at the root, moving toward the ends. The roundedness of your forehead will give you the perfect bend. Lastly, use a smaller round brush to seal the ends only.

2. Use dry shampoo. Your bangs can get greasy, so it's smart to spray your fringe with this powdery goodness in between shampoos. That way you get more mileage out of your 'do and don't have to wash your hair every single day. Try Arrojo ReFinish Dry Shampoo, $22, store.arrojoproduct.com, which also won a 2012 Cosmo beauty award—it's that good. Fugate's pro tip: Spray the dry shampoo onto your hands first and then massage into the roots of your bangs. This keeps it from clumping on your roots.

3. Give yourself a trim. Your fringe grows fast, so if you can't make it to the salon for a complimentary bang trim, do it yourself. First, blow out your bangs (follow step one above). Then, take a comb and pull your hair through it until you reach exactly where you want your bangs to end on your face. Next, taking a pair of scissors, hold them straight up and down and start snipping into your fringe right below the comb. This technique gives you a natural choppy bang without it looking like you did it yourself—it also keeps you from cutting your fringe too short.

Will you be getting bangs this fall—and using these tips to take care of them?
