The Haircut of 2013: A Swingy, Sexy Crop

Actress and Cosmo's February cover girl Julianne Hough and model Karlie Kloss have been the tress trendsetters so far this year. Their cut of choice—and what we're predicting to be the style of 2013: A swingy, sexy, easy-to-style crop with cool-girl texture. 

We absolutely love this style because it's so low-maintenance. Plus, it's a little longer than a traditional bob, so it tends to look good on everyone.

Another bonus? Having shorter hair takes the focus off of your strands and puts the spotlight on that gorgeous face of yours. 

If you're coveting this cut and texture, take a photo of these two celebs to your stylist to replicate their hair magic. Rihanna Sports a Seriously Short Haircut

Rihanna never ceases to amaze us when it comes to taking beauty and fashion risks. Case in point: her brand new, daring pixie cut.

To our knowledge, the cut wasn't for a specific role or tour she's heading out on, but perhaps for her opening performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards being held Sept. 6, where she'll perform her hit single "We Found Love," followed by her brand new remix of "Cockiness (Love It)" with A$AP Rocky.

But this isn't the first time she's had a short cut. In an interview, her stylist, Ursula Stephen, once explained the singer's constant desire for change: "We're always changing it up, experimenting, and having fun with [her] hair. Her hairstyle typically changes depending on what's on our agenda, what she's wearing, or how she's feeling."

John Mayer's Breakup Haircut

John Mayer and Katy Perry recently split after a reportedly hot and heavy fling. And we couldn't help but notice that John debuted a new look right after the news broke.

Gone are the singer's shoulder-length locks: He stepped out in L.A. Saturday with a short, spiky new 'do.

Frankly, we think the new look is a huge improvement over the scraggly thing he had going on before. (And thank God he didn't go this route.)

According to reports, it was his decision to end things, but it's definitely interesting that he chose now to change his look.

Women change up their look all the time after a breakup, but we haven't seen many men do it. Whether he did it because of his split or just wanted to mix things up, we approve.
